What's your favorite thing about winter?

I'm more of a warm weather person (not sure if it's because I'm from the south or not:)), but there's things I still like about this season even though it can be dreary...

Cozy evenings
Wearing sweaters and hats
The beauty of snow

Unlike you, I'm definitely more of a cold weather person. One reason is that I hate to sweat. I still remember the first (and last) time that I ever wore a sweater. I learned quickly why they're called "sweat-ers".

I'm right there with you on the beauty of snow. It's kind of a blanket that covers all of this world's ugliness. Cozy evenings are nice, too.

Probably my favorite thing about Winter, and this might sound weird, is that I cannot help but notice that it makes a lot of people think about death, and they therefore seem to dread it. That dread has actually worked to my advantage over the years. In other words, I've found, time and time again, that, when I encounter people who are thinking about death, it's much easier to share the gospel with them while presenting to them death's only cure, Jesus' resurrection from the dead, and the hope of eternal life, which is found only in him.

I like cold better than heat because you can always keep adding layers when it's cold. When it's hot you can only go so far in reverse... without getting arrested.

That's funny so you never wear sweaters? :) that's cool you've found an open door to share the gospel that way. "In season and out of season."

If I had a job where I had to be outside all day in the summer I may not like it as much. But I just hate shivering.:)

Not talking about holidays but the season of winter I enjoy the end of winter. I hate the cold, snow is cold, pipes freeze, one slip could be out of work. It makes me hibernate because I swear I do not see the backyard until Spring. Plus it gets dark very early which I do not like because it contributes to the cold and I like the sun.

I live in the US South and would move further south if I had a choice. It rarely snows which I am okay with. If I had it my way I would move Christmas to April.

Oh I enjoy the seasonal eggnog but I could probably buy that in the Summer as well.

I honestly can not think of anything to like about winter lol.

I'm one and done with sweaters. I rarely ever even wear a long-sleeve shirt.

It's an open door because people are bound by the fear of death their entire lifetimes, whether some admit it or not.

Hebrews 2:14
Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

Hebrews 2:15
And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

I'm not a fan of shivering either. If I was forced to stay outside in either the extreme heat or bitter cold, then I'd choose the heat, as long as I could at least find some shade. I figure that there's a lesser chance of me melting than there is of me freezing to death.

Yes summer and the south are great. I was born in Alabama and have lived in different states, but the worst was Nebraska. Hopefully I can learn to be content in whatsoever "state" im in.:giggle: but those windy winters...

I'm usually in the state of confusion. The weather isn't usually that bad but the maps here are in disarray like you wouldn't believe.

I am no longer in Maine where i was born and grew part if my life. I remember the big snow flakes falling from the sky in front of the street lights. I remember skiing and sledding.

In going back to visit i see Maine’s natural beauty its, i again see Gods extreme genius and creativity.

i remember the very good people i grew up with, my parents and grandparents that cherished me and thought about me so much.

it all came from the One that I now know loved me all my life…drawing me closer to Him.

I have a friend from Maine and she sure says it's a beautiful state.
