I am working on a conference for 2014 that will help women realize their worth in Christ. I am trying to create it myself, taking very little from other sources besides the Bible, of course. I do this mainly because I don't want to have a conference where I end up having to pay royalties to someone due to using their material, which is only right, or end up caught is some contradictory situation because I didn't pay royalties...and so on and so forth. :)

As I'm working on this, I thought, hmmm, why not just ask the ladies on this forum? So, here it is:

What are some areas where you truly question your value/worth?

What do you think would benefit you most in a conference regarding worth and value as a godly, Christian woman?

What do you think of Proverbs 31? Do you feel you can never live up to that standard or do you feel you already do?

And feel free to add other things to your response. You can also PM me, if you'd like. You can also request my personal email at that time, and I'll send it to you.

Thanks in advance! :)

NOTE: This was posted in multiple forums. You only need to reply to one of them, but feel free to reply to all of them, if you'd like. Thanks! :)

When it comes to being a Mom and a wife, I question my self a lot. Am I doing the right things for my kids, are they happy, is my husband happy?

Hearing other women's issues regarding being a wife and a Mother. Do they compare themselves to other women?

I like Proverbs in whole. Christian Chat is the only place I've ever heard Proverbs 31 brought up as much as it is. probably because it's a discussion forum. I love my family, and I do the best I can for them. I'm not super organized or even all that neat, but I try. My husband has never brought up Proverbs 31 to me. I honestly think it's about a woman being loyal and loving to her family. I live up to that standard. I'm not superwoman and much in the world has changed since Proverbs 31 was written.

Hope this helps. I am sorry about the bold, I copied your questions and it wouldn't let me un bold it, lol. I did put my answer in italics.

No worries about the bold. :) I've experienced the same thing when I've done similar responses.

I am surprised that you haven't heard Proverbs 31 mentioned out in your neck of the world much. There is a Proverbs 31 ministry and I can tell you I've heard it mentioned countless times, so much so that I don't even read that portion of Scripture. :) It is good to know that some women may not hear about it often, or at all in some cases, and to be careful not to put insane standards on them. I wonder how some women feel if they've heard about it as much as I have. :)

Thank you so much for sharing. This is the kind of responses I am looking for. I can think of countless ways to help young girls and single women discover their worth and value in Christ, but I never think of it from a mom's perspective or even that of a wife's, since I am neither. :) Reading through your response has made me realize that I need to partner with a wife and mother who is interested in helping me put this together, that way both of these perspectives can be covered effectively. :)

Thanks again!

What are some areas where you truly question your value/worth? In difficult situations and trials. That's when I should trust God the most, and yet many times I'm like Peter, I feel like drowning, and then I feel guilty for not being able to trust more. I ask myself, Am I pleasing God with this attitude?

Hearing the struggles of other young women who are in similar circumstances, backed up by a Bible study or Bible verses. As much as I like hearing experiences, I don't like just hearing the experience with no learning from the Word. That way I can apply it to my life.

What do you think of Proverbs 31? Do you feel you can never live up to that standard or do you feel you already do? I've never considered myself a Proverbs 31 woman, since she is a married woman with kids lol. Especially the part about rising while it is yet night . I'm definitely not a morning person! :p But I like to think the principles behind that description apply to me for the most part. She loves her family, she is hard working, she is merciful to the unfortunate, she is wise and most of all, she loves the Lord. I'll be honest and say sometimes I fear I will never measure up to be that woman, but I will try.

Thank you for your response, kayem77. I agree with you. I feel a lot like Peter. That gives me hope in and of itself, because Christ purposefully asked for Peter after He had risen, after Peter had betrayed Him. Then, He and Peter had breakfast alone together on the beach. If Peter, a man I am so very much like, can still have that much importance to Christ, so, then, can I. :)

As for Proverbs 31, yeah, I don't even try. That's why I put that question out there. I think that, in those places where she is focused on, women feel they can never measure up. I'm not a morning person either. :) I wonder what we can glean from this whole thing. I think, mainly, that we shouldn't really aspire to be her. God made us all unique. But, this is just a thought I'm having right this second, without any prayer or seeking God on it, so don't take my word as law or divine. Just something I'm thinking of looking into a little deeper...if I can bring myself to read about her again. :)

Thanks again and God bless you and all those that have visited this thread and those that have responded. :)
