they are teaching you tools you will need to design object oriented applications.

I was taught inheritance charts and client suppplier charts - they have move on and standardised things

I take it this is just one subject

Bachelor in Information Technology/Computer Science is the overall course
the first year we have
basics, Social Informatics, Programming in Python, databases, systematizing (UML), + a chosen subject, probably Multmeidia


I have no specific plans, I doubt I'll be a programmer or software designer. I'm not aiming that high yet

and yeah, it's obvious from the book that things have changed. And it confuses me cause the authr tries to teach both the old and the new stuff

you dont have to be a techie, are you analytical? know anything about business?

Business Analysts are always in great demand.

A typical techie guy cannot interact with a human being but he does well with a computer

a BA interprets between the techie and the business stakeholders

you must have good people skills form nursing

or there may be a niche in the medical world

I can't systematize/ have control of other people and things... which leaves me in trouble no matter what I try to do :S
my people skills aren't the best either, oddly.... so I doun't know. I think I'd like to be just the guy... eh gal that people contact when their compter fails vause they did something stupid
