I do think there is some truth to wof if done correctly. The ability to have faith so strong that you declare something and it happens is biblical Jesus made fish and bread come and he healed the sick made the blind see but we don't see things like this very much these days due to lack of faith.

To do it correctly in my opinion is to firstly believe you will recieve what you ask for secondly make sure the credit goes to the father thirdly thank father for his help

Are you saying you're ok with aligning yourself to the beliefs outlined in post #11? You're can become a god? Faith is a special power to be used for personal gain? God is obligated to do your will? Jesus failed on the cross and had to be dragged into hell and tortured by demons before He atoned for sins? Because all of that IS WOF, and there's no correct way of doing it. There is nothing Christian about WOF.

Prosperity is not a separate entity. It's about 'speaking what you want into existance. About the only thing many people speak into existance is either a headache or getting angry at God for not doing what they said. BUT, Haggin got his inspiration from E W Kenyon, a whole other bowl of fruit loops.
Just the facts

I think just because aspects of WoF are false doesnt mean all of it is. Like for instance Andrew Wommack is not with WoF movement and he teaches on speak to the mountain, speak to the problem.

Derek Prince wasnt WoF but he taught speaking to the problem in authority and making proclamations.

No I am saying that the wof as far as the faith part goes is a bit of truth. See wof as I was told relies on the kind of faith to move mountains to see the work and hand of God in action to declare it in his name and believe it is so.

Not for self gain but for the work of the kingdom yes the wof has been corrupted the devil has had his hand in the corruption of the wof and many who teach it are false teachers hower think about it Jesus said we would do greater things than him he said it only takes the faith of a mustard seed to move a mountain the faith prat the ability to believe in God so deeply that the impossible is suddenly possible is what I am focused on in the wof thing.

I want the faith required to do the work of the kingdom to show the world he is alive and still just as awesome as he was in the bible where the sick are cured the blind see the deaf hear and yes even the dead are raised

This is what I was taught by that man who told me about his belief in the wof but when you try to talk to people about it and the wof thing they only see and look at the evil in it they label it as evil because of all the countefeit you see today but they do not see the faith part the small bit of truth that is in it

Yes exactly I even know a person who has a firend who has raised 12 people from the dead because he proclaimed it in authority and it happened

Word of faith, for today?:
So I am curious about this subject...it is not the wof that is wrong but those who preach it without understanding it...we don't see things like this very much these days due to lack of faith...
Part I God's Word Of Truth, Rightly Divided:

Precious friend, what is God's Context for "the word of faith" (appears only one time)?:

"For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man
which doeth those things shall live by them. But the righteousness which is
of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into
heaven? ( that is, to bring Christ down from above: ) Or, Who shall descend into
the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) But what Saith It?
The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith,
which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou Shalt Be Saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth
confession is made unto salvation. For The Scripture Saith, Whosoever believeth
on Him shall not be ashamed.
For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for The Same Lord
over all is rich unto all that call upon Him. For whosoever shall call upon The
Name of the Lord Shall Be Saved." (Romans 10:5-13 AV)
Thus, understanding "the word of faith" ( mentioned only one time! ) as
God Referring To it as pertaining to His Eternal Salvation, how then can
men change God's Word ( "The Scripture Saith" ) and teach it as
referring to the modern "word of faith movement" tenets of:

positive confession and the power of [ man-spoken ] words?
divine health and healing?
prosperity theology (health and wealth)?
"little Gods" doctrine?
faith as a Force: Faith is often presented as a spiritual force that can be manipulated
through spoken words and positive confession to achieve desired results?
atonement for spirit, soul, and body?

Seems to be Severely Misunderstood, eh?

Part II Biblical understanding, Rightly Divided:

Precious friend, here are a couple of Bible studies about "prayer and healing" in
God's Two Different Dispensations, Rightly Divided (2 Timothy 2:15 AV):

Prophecy/Covenants/Law to twelve apostles, for the nation [ twelve tribes ] of Israel
(17) They were taught how/what to pray! (Matthew 6:9; Luke 11:2 AV)

Rightly Divided (2 Timothy 2:15 AV) From “Things That Differ!” (online):

Mystery/GRACE to one apostle for the one Body Of Christ!:

(17a) we Are Exhorted to "...Make our requests known Unto God!"
(
Philippians 4:6 AV) While, At The Same Time, God "Teaches" us:

(17b) Concerning our infirmities, we "know Not" what to pray "as we ought,"
But "The Spirit Intercedeth For us, According To The Will Of God!..."
(
Romans 8:26 AV)

+

Prophecy / Covenants / Law Israel's { earthly! } "kingdom gospel":

(20) Jesus and the twelve "healed everyone"

"When the even was come, they brought unto him many that
were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with
His Word, and Healed all that were sick"
(Matthew 4:24, 8:16, 15:30-31; Mark 2:3-4, 6:54-56 AV)
+
"Then He called His twelve disciples together, and gave them
power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. And
He sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick...

And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the
[ kingdom ] gospel, and healing every where." (Luke 9:1-6 AV)
+
"There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto
Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with
unclean spirits: and they were healed every one." (Acts 5:16 AV)

Why?:

a) The nation of Israel is called, By God:

"And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an
holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak
unto the children of Israel." (Exodus 19:6)

b) The first "Requirement * to be a priest unto God":

"No man that hath a blemish of the seed of Aaron the
priest shall come nigh to offer the offerings of the LORD
made by fire: he hath a blemish; he shall not come nigh
to offer the bread of his God." (Leviticus 21:21 AV)

c) Thus all were healed in order to "meet God's first Requirement *
of no blemish for the priesthood."
Prophecy

Rightly Divided (2 Timothy 2:15) From “Things That Differ!” (online):

Mystery / GRACE { Heavenly } Christ, to Paul, One apostle to the Gentiles...

continued in Part III...

Part III God's Word Of Truth, Rightly Divided:

Prophecy for Israel

Rightly Divided (2 Timothy 2:15) From “Things That Differ!” (online):

Mystery / GRACE { Heavenly } Christ, to Paul, One apostle for the One Body Of Christ:

(20a) Special Note that God Gave ( For Authentication / Credibility of His Message and
messenger ) the "gift of healing" to Paul in the beginning of his ministry:
1) God performed "special / extraordinary miracles [ diseases/evil spirits Departed ]"
Through Paul's hands [ and, even beyond with "handkerchiefs/aprons touched by him" ]
2) healing the sick (Acts 28:8-9 AV)
3) casting out demons (Acts 16:18, 19:11-12 AV)
4) raising the dead (Acts 20:9-12 AV)
5) Divine Protection (Acts 28:3-6)
6) Signs and wonders Paul himself referenced, affirming his apostolic
credentials and The Power of the Holy Spirit Working through him
Q: Do not these miracles served as a testimony to The Truth Of The Gospel he preached?

Q2: And, do not these accounts emphasize that God Was The Ultimate Source of these
miracles, Using Paul as His instrument to Demonstrate His Power and Validate the
message of salvation, God's Gospel Of His Amazing Grace?

(20b) As Paul's Divinely Appointed ministry nears the end, there is a noticeable Decrease
[ Did Paul have 'lack of faith'? ] in the mention of these miraculous gifts being actively
practiced. For example, Paul, who once healed many, later could not heal Epaphroditus,
Timothy, or Trophimus, [ lack of faith? Or: ] God Indicating a change in the operation of
the gift of healing, Under His Grace Program.
(20c) Thus, Today, Under God's Wonderful Good News, According To God's Perfect Will,"
Not all are healed. Why Not?: There is NO Israeli priesthood 'calling', but 'this' New
Information Is found
in God's Love/Grace Letters Romans - Philemon AV:

"And He {Christ} Said Unto me, My Grace Is Sufficient For
thee: For My Strength Is Made Perfect in weakness. Most
gladly therefore will I rather glory {cp} in my infirmities [ #link# ] ,
that The Power Of CHRIST May Rest Upon me!"
(2 Corinthians 12:9 cp 2 Corinthians 11:23-30 AV)

Conclusion: Not ' lack of faith' on faithful Grace believers' part trying to "speak and
see their words come to pass", But a simple misunderstanding Of:

God's Perfect Fit, Under Grace, For us, Correct?:

"...For we walk by faith ( Not by sight )..." (2 Corinthians 5:7 AV)
+
Concerning our infirmities, we "know Not" what to pray "as we ought,"
But "The Spirit Intercedeth For us, According To The Will Of God!..."
(Romans 8:26 AV)
+
[ not mixing up messages of the twelve with one, Paul, in Confusion ]:
"we follow Paul, as he followed Christ" (1 Corinthians 11:1 AV), Because:
"This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into
the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. Howbeit for this cause I obtained Mercy,
that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them
which should hereafter believe on Him to life everlasting."
(1 Timothy 1:15-16 AV)
----------------------------------

* Note: the Other Two Requirements for Israel's priesthood were
"water [ washing by John and the twelve ) baptism, and anointing
of oil [ Christ's Baptism with The Holy Spirit { at Pentecost } ]",

Neither of which are For us Today, As God, Under Grace, Now Has Only:
ONE [ Spiritual ] Baptism! For the one Body Of Christ!!

-----------------------------------

LORD JESUS, thank You For All Your Divine Help
in our understanding of Things That Differ! (online)

Amen.

Praying this helps all who have been struggling "to be faithful" to God, but discouraged,
disheartened, and devastated in their seemingly Unanswered prayer life to Him, to have

More Biblical Right Division understanding is here: Distinctions of Prophecy and Mystery!

I agree with Derek Prince and his methods are tried and true. If it were not for his teaching and being at the forefront of certain Bible truths that many deny, I might not have been here typing this. True dat. I could write reams, but I know people and won't waste my time. But if you are looking into his teachings, I say you are on the right track.

I am not totally in accord with Wommack. Just not. Quite familar though. I am not so sure he is not WOF but he sure as anything entertains WOF people at his conferences and has them speak and teach there. So......

This is what I was taught by that man who told me about his belief in the wof but when you try to talk to people about it and the wof thing they only see and look at the evil in it they label it as evil because of all the countefeit you see today but they do not see the faith part the small bit of truth that is in it

Blain, there are myriad reasons why people act and reply as they do where WOF is concerned and I know some of them very well. Don't go seeking this thing. Seek God in truth and He will reply the same. There is no formula. Nothing has changed. He said a long long time ago that we would find Him when we seek Him with all our heart.

Do you ever wonder why people flock to conferences and retreats and so called miracle services the way they do? People are looking for a version of Moses. God will 'speak' to the individual. Jesus is now our mediator. We don't need a 'Moses'.

This makes no sense. If you recognize WOF is corrupt, evil, and filled with false teachers, why pick through the garbage heap to find a tiny scrap of alleged 'truth'. You already have access to the uncorrupted truth through the Bible. You already have access to Jesus Christ through biblical faith and prayer. Why isn't this enough?

To note: WOF didn't become a false and corrupt movement. It began as a false and corrupt movement. From it's earliest metaphysical origins, WOF defined faith as a supernatural force to create your desired reality. It was only going to go down from there.

I truly hope and pray you will reconsider this path.

You misunderstand I am not planning on joining the wof cult what I am seeking and what I gleaned from it was a desire to have real faith to learn to stand in his authority.
When I mentioned in my op about how I did this for the code blue emergency and suddenly it stopped and the person was breathing again I saw an act of God that I had never experienced before and it gave me a fesire to operate in it and do whatever it is he has planned

Imagine if you had the faith to heal? imagine being able to do the greater things he promised we would do? That wasn't even the only time this happened I stood in this authority to send a demon back to hell

I got a taste of the real thing and saw him work in ways I never thought I would see and all this because of that man who told me about wof but what I gleaned from it wasn't the corruption and counterfets

You aren't understanding what I am saying I am not saying I am joining the wof cult I just learned a bit of truth from the man who told me about it and even saw it in action happen before my very eyes.

So God moved in a way I never saw before and if he is acting on a situation it has to be the right path because he only moves if you are follwoing him

No you misunderstand. I probably understand what you are saying better than you do which you will find insulting but there it is. I never hinted, never mind said, that you were planning on joining WOF. Get real! This is why I hesitate to reply to you. It goes off course. Demons do not go back to hell Blain and you DO NOT have that authority. smh

Well You are entitled to your opinion but I saw first hand and experienced it you can believe me or not but I am telling the truth, that demon didn't have a choice it had to go back to hell it was if I had Jesus standing behind me

Blain, there's a difference between the word of faith In scripture, & the WOF doctrine. They are NOT the same! One is as old as the NT & the other started from EW Kenyon back in the 1950's - 60's. I wished they never named it that because it's wickedness!

You are making things up Blain. Jesus said that demons go into a dry place when they leave a person. Why didn't Jesus send the demons who went into the pigs back to hell? Hey I tell you what. If it's that easy then why don't we all just start telling the demons to go to hell (not sure they began there but that is not within the scope of this thread) Maybe we could avoid the whole tribulationl thing and just set up heaven right here right now. (sarcasim)

Matthew 12:43-45 King James Version (KJV)
When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

Demons don't die and they do not go to hell. Demons can be and are cast out. It's probably fine to say go where Jesus sends you which people do sometimes especially when they are afraid. However, once we really understand our position in Christ and our authority IN Him, then we can authoratatively send them off. The devil and his demons will only be sent to the lake of fire by Jesus when time runs out.

That is not now and that is not by you saying you did so.

Right. I think the article on wiki pretty much covered the history. Some years back there were quite a few people on here that were embedded in the WOF doctrines. Some pretty interesting threads. I've tried searching for some of them; maybe I'm using the wrong parameters, but so far can't find them.

When a christian suddenly reacts out of the ordinary & speaks directly to the enemy, it's because the Holy Spirit moved upon you to do it. This is real. You can get a word of faith a word of knowledge, a word of wisdom, or one of many other moves of the Spirit.
But, WOF false doctrine isn't the same thing. This was something made up by man.
All I see is thinking the two are the same when they are not. I'm not at all against what you did for the Lord, just don't get the two mixed up, that's all. Much of this has been all about getting the two mixed up.
:)

Hate to break it to you, bro, but Wommack is also bad. He's false as well as a WOF'er. DP is good, though.
