Matthew 3:11
“I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
John 14:26
But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
John 14:16-17, [SUP]16 [/SUP]I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper[SUP][a][/SUP] to be with you forever. [SUP]17 [/SUP]The Helper is the Spirit of truth.[SUP][b][/SUP] The people of the world cannot accept him, because they don’t see him or know him. But you know him. He lives with you, and he will be in you.
Acts 2:1-4, 2 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. [SUP]2 [/SUP]Suddenly a noise came from heaven. It sounded like a strong wind blowing. This noise filled the whole house where they were sitting. [SUP]3 [/SUP]They saw something that looked like flames of fire. The flames were separated and stood over each person there. [SUP]4 [/SUP]They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they began to speak different languages. The Holy Spirit was giving them the power to do this.
After Holy Spirit came down to the disciple, this is what they do,
Acts 8:14 When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to Samaria.
They send peter and john to Samaria after receiving the Holy Spirit.
Acts 8 [SUP]15 [/SUP]When they arrived, they prayed for the new believers there that they might receive the Holy Spirit, [SUP]16 [/SUP]because the Holy Spirit had not yet come on any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Acts 8:17, [SUP]17 [/SUP]then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
Act 11:16-17, [SUP]15 [/SUP]“After I began speaking, the Holy Spirit came on them just as he came on us at the beginning.[SUP][b][/SUP] [SUP]16 [/SUP]Then I remembered the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘John baptized people in water, but you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit.’
Act 19:2-4, There he found some disciples [SUP]2 [/SUP]and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed? “They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” [SUP]3 [/SUP]So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive? “John’s baptism,” they replied. [SUP]4 [/SUP]Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” [SUP]5 [/SUP]On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Acts 19:6-7 [SUP]6 [/SUP]When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied. [SUP]7 [/SUP]There were about twelve men in all.
They reject Holy Spirit by killing all the disciples and the work of the Holy Spirit ceases
They seized Peter and John and, because it was evening, they put them in jail until the next day.
Acts 4:7
They had Peter and John brought before them and began to question them: “By what power or what name did you do this?”
Acts 8:1on that day a great persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria. [SUP]2 [/SUP]Godly men buried Stephen and mourned deeply for him. [SUP]3 [/SUP]But Saul began to destroy the church. Going from house to house, he dragged off both men and women and put them in prison.
Isaiah 63:10
Yet they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit. So he turned and became their enemy and he himself fought against them.
The baptism of Holy Spirit ceased and we have to find it. That’s the final work of God the Holy Spirit before the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
