I never said a mustard seed had faith, I said if YOU have faith of a mustard seed. Why do you continually twist what everyone says?
This passage proves lack of faith or a dead faith = in reality unbelief. If they had true faith, they could have done the work itself. They did not because they thought it was THEIR own power. They did not trust God, that is why they could not WORK.
Faith can do anything, even faith of a mustard seed. Because faith asks.. and faith does

Even faith of a mustard seed can do such a great work of moving mountains,, So it does not take much faith to trust God to do work through you. Anything above a dead faith (which is no faith at all) and you can do mighty things, things greater than even jesus did.

those who have a living faith are saved.
they prove it with their works, or lack of.
nothing says we are saved by works, that would negate grace,
you need to revisit James bro...the scripture says faith....it does not say living faith...God gives faith...James says faith without works is dead....we are saved by grace through faith....the same faith that James says is dead without works...he does not say works after faith nor faith before works...he says faith without works which indicate they must come together...God gave you faith with works to do ...starting with repentance and baptism for the remission of sins....

when did he sent the disciples to a gentile. was this after he was back in heaven, around 48 ad. what law was the getile to repent of, because at acts 15 they meet to ask what law to give them.

The Christian is spotless and blameless, Eph 1:4; 2 Pet 3:14. The way a Christian who does occasionally sin is kept spotless and blameless is by the obedient work of continually walking in the light whereby Christ's blood continually cleanses away all sins (1 Jn 1:7) and that continual cleanses keeps the Christian spotless and blameless.
Can one never do any obedient works and good works yet still make it to heaven?
If Christ's perfect righteousness was transferred to you, then you would be as perfectly sinless as Christ, but that is not the case. The lost must be obedient by submitting to baptism where he is then place in Christ and there covered by Christ's perfect righteousness, Gal 3:27.
That is the promise we have received. We will be like Him when He presents us to the Father at the day of redemption. For now we sojourn here in this world as witnesses of God's saving grace and how to testify of the hope we have in Christ

One can have no hope to be like Him unless they are in Him covered by His perfect righteousness, holiness, etc.
But it takes obedience though to be in Him.
2 Corinthians 5:21 Please show me where there is an unless in there. You keep making things up. Stop reading into the scriptures and start reading out of the scriptures. God is not interested in your opinion. God has declared His word and it will endure for all of eternity unchanged, perfect and absolutely true.
Why are you unable to trust Christ to do for you what you can never do for yourself?
Now what we be is greater than all that we can ever do. We be and have our being in Christ and that is infinitely more than we can ever do of ourselves
