Brothers and sisters on CC,I am worried about my prayer. My prayer is broken.I am not sure what to say.I just say the words that come to my mind at that moment.I am not fluent and find it difficult to speak praise.I know I should praise Him.. *scratch my head* I find it a bit awkward.I understand He is worthy.Sometimes, when I feel I want to say praise,I can't pick up words easily. He is dad,but He is also mighty king. How should I talk to him? What do you think? :)

I struggle with this too. But hey, the only thing I can say is be sincere and speak to Him as if you were talking to your Mom or dad. God doesn't want fancy word play He wants to know your desires and your requests He wants YOU. He already knows everything so just speak candidly to Him. But don't be disrespectful. God doesn't like shallow prayers that are insincere. It's like reading the terms and conditons page before joining a website they don't really matter. You know? But God loves you and wants you to talk to Him. I know it's hard but I'm here for you and I can relate. Maybe we could even ve accountability partners?

Prayer is pouring your soul out before God, Sweet... it does not matter at all if it is "fluent" or how it sounds as long as it is honest. It does not have to have many words... even when you cry to God it is also a prayer, you dont even have to say anything. You are doing exactly what you should be doing.
1 Samuel 1:15 ...poured out my soul before the LORD.
What Jesus hates are long prayers where people talk to be fluent and sound godly, but their heart is not honest.Mark 12:40 Which devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation.

Book of Psalms is full of examples on how to pray and petition before God and also praise Him. It could be helpful to you.

I don't come in this forum.....but this has drawn me.......No worries little sister.....God knows our heart.....He already knows .....what works for me is.......first ...ask God for the words to say......also ask for the Holy Spirit to guide you in prayer........the words will come ......I hope this helps you........peace.....jo

Sometimes I pray with only my hands expressing how I feel without words.
Sometimes I just pray with sounds I feel deep inside of me. Doesn't even sound like English.
Sometimes I draw my prayer.
Sometimes I pray scripture - like in the Psalm.
Sometimes I just sit quietly and let my presence be a prayer.

You don't have to be an eloquent speaker or even a prolific thinker to honor God properly. What is more important is that your heart is true to the intent of the prayer, and that the intent is true to His will as best as you can make it so. God does not grade on a curve.

Just talk to God like you talk to anyone else. Tell him how you feel, what you want, what you need. Praise him. Talk to him like you would talk to your parents. After all, he IS our (heavenly) father.. :) Prayers can be spoken, silent, written, or even typed. God hears ALL prayers.

Sweet, you don't have to be perfect when you pray just pray for what you need and if it's the Lord's will He will provide it. God doesn't care if you mess up He only loves you for you :)

Hey, I wonder if I am too bold before God.I love Jesus but fear God the Father. Is OT LORD God the Father?I become afraid when I read where God kill people.I realize I asked wrongly in my prayer tonight.I asked that God visit me when I am praying someday..But I think my reason is selfish..Well,well,I am stupid.I really want to know what God think of me.Do I make Him frown? If indeed I have said something wrong in my prayer, what then? How precious is Jesus our mediator.

Sweet maybe God wants you to pray for the people who turn away from him. I'll be praying for you
