As you may well know, the NSA is keeping tabs on our internet searches and all this information is being stored in super computers in 3 or 4 different locations in the world.

To combat this problem a woman by the name of Kathryn Albrecht who wrote the book "Spy chips" ( a detailed book about RFID technology , the internet of things and the coming mark of the beast) developed a search engine with her team which pretty much guarantees a private time on the web without being tracked, logged or monitored.
The search engine is called ,"Start Page" and it works because each search is specially encrypted so that in order for someone trying to see what you are searching for - it would take hours just for one search!(Pardon me if I am a little sketchy with my description - her video explains it better.)

So there you have it - a safe and private way of viewing the net.She is also testing out an email site called ,"start mail" - which you have to subscribe to at a small cost.Start page , though is completely free.

Here is a six minute video expalining it and it probably does ,"start page " more justice.

Here is the link to ,"start page"https://startpage.com/

I use https://www.duckduckgo.com. It's another non-tracking search engine like startpage, and they put the most relevant results at the top of the search results page. I've never had any problems at all with duckduckgo, although some people have said they encountered porn results on it. Lol. Duckduckgo is the ONLY search engine I use! Except for getting pictures, then I usually use Google images for that. :)

For added privacy in your browser, install the Ghostery plug-in. It blocks trackers, and MOST pop-up ads. I have Ghostery and WOT (web of trust) on my Opera browser. WOT displays colored circles beside your search results, indicating the reputation and safety of the websites you visit. Green is safe, red indicates viruses, spyware or malware, and yellow is like "click with caution." Set your browser settings to clear your browsing history when you close the browser. You can also install the "do not track me" browser plug-in. It sends a do not track request to the sites you visit.

Of course this could also send a flag, as if to say, "What is this person trying to hide?"

That's my initial thought.... what are you surfing that you need to hide?

But then there's propriety. You may not keep stolen goods in your house. That doesn't mean you can't support the ban on warrantless police searches. Privacy isn't always about what you're hiding.
