How would you describe worshipping God? Praising God I suppose is just that, you verbally praise Him. So how do we worship Him?

Thanks.

hi there :)
the Bible makes this kinda suggestion--

Ascribe to the LORD, O sons of the mighty,
Ascribe to the LORD glory and strength
Ascribe to the LORD the glory due to His name;
Worship the LORD in holy array. (Ps 29:1-2)

also Ps 68:34; 1 Chron 16:28-29 :)

I never think of Worship and Praise being a 'vs.' type thing.

They are interconnected and complimentary, not in opposition to or to be compared to each other.

Praise can be a part of worship; worship can be a part of praise.

One thing is should not be is over thought, but a response of one's heart to our loving Father, Saviour, and Helper \o/.

because they aren't :)

the Psalms are replete with that idea, too.

In all the worship bands I have played in, in many churches, denominations and nondenominations, there is always this idea that "praise" is the noisy, exciting part at the start of the music, and the "worship" is the quiet, worshipful part of the music which puts people in the "mood" to hear the Word of God preached.

It always drove me crazy, because it becomes a rite or a ritual in some churches, and the fact is that we can worship God as we praise him,, and praise him as we worship. Too many verses to post on this one!

I recall now hearing about worship, the explanation be g it is basically honoring God with what you are doing in your life. I read recently the scripture 'this is your spiritual service of worship.' At this moment I cannot look it up.

I agree that they are interconnected. I can't separate them. I don't say in my mind, I'm going to pray. Now I'm going to worship. Now I'm going to praise. It's all one big ball to me. Prayer mostly TURNS into worship and praise spontaneously..just like...eruptions of joy. :)

This is a great question because it reminds us of something that is extremely important and beneficial to our souls. Shame on me because I neither praise nor worship God as I should, but with His help I will change for the better.

I agree with him!
