The old Bible lay on the shelf
Its golden letters faded and worn
Words within offering help
Its pages tattered and torn

The words of a man named Jesus
Love and peace He said
Telling how much God loves us
Each word written in red

So long ago He climbed a hill
His life to give for sins
Come to me whomever will
One day you'll live again

The ink on the pages will fade
Even the words He said
But what He did for us that day
Will forever be written in red

Written May 2006.
Given by the Spirit to be shared with all but claimed by none. All praise and glory belong to Him.

Very moving, especially the last set of lines. Praise be to God and Jesus in the most High and praise be for the Holy Spirt which moved you to write this.🙏

Not only by His death, but also by His glorious resurrection He saved us from the jaws of death and darkness. Beautiful poem, thanks for sharing it.
