Oh! Okay...I get it now...it is sarcasm...on Martin Luther's part that satan tries to imply that we can't trust by faith in GOD'S GRACE through faith in CHRIST JESUS, but have to take matters into our own hands to ensure GOD'S PROMISES...which shows that we do not believe in GOD'S PROMISES...

I read (and re-read) Romans 7 and thought I just had to resign myself to this inner struggle for the rest of my life. Romans 8 seemed such a long way off to me. I asked God to show me how to live the Romans 8 life of no condemnation, led by the Spirit, etc. and the Ephesians life of eyes of understanding being enlightened, filled with all the fullness of God, strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, etc. How do we get from Rom 7 to Eph?

The first thing God showed me was that Romans is written to those who are "the called of Jesus Christ" (Rom 1:6) and Ephesians is written to those who are "faithful in Christ Jesus" (Eph 1:1). So it is just a matter of growing up and maturing in our walk with the Lord.

God also showed me that He never leaves me. He always holds me close in the palm of His Hand. And those times when I do not feel close to Him are those times when I leave Him. So I started paying attention to what was going on in my life and whether I was observing fruit of the spirit in my life or works of the flesh. If fruit of the spirit, I just keep on keeping on. But if works of the flesh is all I see, I know I have left Him.

Then I started to watch for the things that draw me away from Him and I recognized certain patterns ... things that draw me away from Him. And now when I see those things, I cleave closer to Him for as long as it takes. And you know what? He helps me through those times of trial and temptation. God is so awesome and loving toward us. He doesn't ever tell me I'm an idiot for holding close to Him when trouble comes a-knocking. He truly is able to keep us from falling and present us faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy (Jude 1:24).

There's a fine distinction here.

Paul had no problem saying we were more than conquerors.

And this:

But the key is, Paul always mentions in Christ, by Christ, and through Christ. So you're right we do NOT do it in our effort or our power, but we do have access to His.

And it is the same power that raised Christ from the dead.

I love what you post, but this is an important distinction to me, because many people call themselves powerless because they don't understand what has been freely made available in Christ. And it can be a form of religion to think of ourselves less than He does.

Abiding in Christ, resting in Christ.

In the wakey world of charismatic language and behaviour, these terms need padding out.

What you are saying is the idea of walking blamelessly or in purity and holiness sounds to you like going beyond Jesus.

But actually the language is about defining what the cross is and the victory over sin Jesus has given us.
The clearest way of seeing it is when you found yourself to have sinned. How do you react?
Repentance and confession, getting yourself right with God and those around.

This is walking righteously before the Lord in Christ, abiding in Him, obeying His commands.

Many here on cc do not agree with this position. We have been learning their language and way of
discussing it over the last 6 months.

But I see from your language you easily go on the defensive. God bless you, and may the Lord give
you His peace, Amen.

Are we total lost, without any redeeming features, forever enemies of God?
Is the gospel just showing us our state and saying we are forgiven but never rising about our state.

If this is so, to suggest we could ever be blameless, pure, righteous is a deluded dream of hyprocrites.
Only blind people who do not see how much we should be hated would dare to suggest this to a Holy
God. It is like trampling on the cross, because nothing we can do is worthy of anything.

But what if sin comes from a betrayed heart, that distorts and changes everything good into failure.
What is our problem is only a broken relationship, between us and God?

If the relationship is restored, the heart healed and born again then we can walk as Children of God.
Jesus calls us His bride, His redeemed people, His body, His precious friends.

This sounds like a blameless, holy, pure people walking in love.
So we are not hated, despised, failures, lost and empty, forever condemned, but a redeemed and healed
people walking into eternity.

So those who hate themselves and condemn their fellow believers as hypocrites
have fallen for a lie of the enemy who desires to dispossess of the very salvation Jesus is offering.

And the real difference between the two groups. The second have let love and God in, to show them
how much they are accepted and precious in His sight. The first have never loved themselves as Christ
loves them and let the truth of a sinner is forgiven dawn on their souls.

This reveals the same kind of conscience that was hyper-sensitized to the wrong kinds of things, that Joseph Prince, in his book Destined to R̶u̶i̶n̶ Reign, revealed that he had. Hyper grace seems to appeal to people who were damaged by this kind of hyper legalistic view of GOD. I can't even imagine the concept of considering speeding to be a sin, nor Joseph Prince's obsession with confessing every little thought that he believed was sin. Yet hyper grace believers seem to have viewed GOD this way and think everyone else does as well.

Obeying the local laws is the will of God and disobeying the speed limit is a form of lawlessness ( sin ) and that term gets thrown around here all the time.

Again, I told you your opinions, suggestions, thoughts, notions of another remain as YOUR opinions, suggestions, thoughts, notions of another.
Maybe sir, that is why many go on the defensive?


And hey...if the TRUTH of THE CROSS is sufficient...then WHY OH WHY isn't the MESSAGE of THE CROSS of CHRIST simply and clearly preached ever and always?

And especially on a website where many baby ears are listening in who haven't drunk the PURE and GOOD MILK of the GOSPEL first and foremost?!

But hey, we have the MEAT of HIS WORD and we would like to show that we have the MEAT of HIS WORD?

I know you'll find this confusing but some people actually take law seriously, and Jesus command to those under it 'to be perfect' as well. And they are right to do so. For any who think they can work their way to God by their own doing the standard is not just your best self-efforts, but God's perfect character.

Some learn from that, that they need a Savior. Others, never learn, and continue to live in the futility of their own self-efforts to save themselves.

Do not think I came to abolish the LAW...I did not come to abolish the LAW, but to fulfill it...
Unless "your righteousness" exceed that of the Pharisees, you will not enter the Kingdom of GOD.


The LAW will not pass until all has been accomplished...

How can "our righteousness" exceed that of the Pharisees?
Oh, and especially since HE rebuked them for their unbelief!

Again, please do not make statements of "what another is saying"...
Another thing, sir...HE does rebuke and discipline HIS CHILDREN.
Therefore, if one does sin, HE convicts them so that they do repent and TURN AWAY from doing that sin again...

Which is why HIS SPIRIT in us, teaches us...and which is why we would NEVER want to "go out" from HIM...
 
One more thing, have you discovered the "sin" in your brother yet?
Or is it because of your opinion, thoughts, notions, ideas, suggestions that they cling to THE GRACE given that this is their sin?


Paul was perfect...according to all the outward things put in place, Paul was a Pharisee of Pharisees...BLAMELESS...but he had to relearn who he had thought he had known of GOD...and he counted all these things, these outward actions and validations before the eyes of men that this is what kept him...and instead he desired to know ONE THING alone.


What was that ONE...THING?
and, knowing that ONE...GOOD THING, he put NO confidence in his flesh.

Did Paul resort to sinning?
Did you catch him in something that was against GOD?


No...he did not sin...but he knew the TRUTH that the ONE who was keeping him....IS THE ONE WHO IS KEEPING him...
