Ezekiel 18:8-9

"He that has not given forth on usury, neither has taken any increase, that has withdrawn his hand from iniquity, has executed true judgment between man and man,

Has walked in my statutes, and has kept my judgments, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, said the Lord GOD."

In order to repent (to change our ways from sin), we must understand what the right way is. The Law provides guidelines for righteousness. If I might attempt to sum up my beliefs regarding the law, which I believe to be divinely purposed for all time, from its sacred origin to its completion through Yeshuah Messiah (Jesus Christ) and eventual ending at the end of all time.

Faith, Hope, and Love

While love is the greatest of these, it is not the first. Faith is mentioned first likely because love comes by the combination of faith and hope.

Romans 10:17 "So then faith, comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God."

Faith comes by hearing and understanding (and applying) the Word of God, in its completeness. Understanding of the great and marvelous works of the Living God, cements in our consciousness His Divinity and utter Perfection.

Joshua 21:45 "Not one of the LORD's good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled."

Hope comes by an understanding of the Lord's promises, which are also found within the prophecies and the Law.

Once these two concepts are understood, the nature of Love (agape) is revealed.

John 14:21 "Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them."

Wisdom, Grace, and Love

Again, love follows wisdom and grace. It is not simply a matter of feelings and beliefs about love. Our understanding of love without these added to it are lacking. And it is through the poor application of love that we tolerate evils, false religions, idolatries of self, mind, and science, and all manner of perniciousness.

Proverbs 14:16 "The wise fear the LORD and shun evil, but a fool is hotheaded and feels secure."

Proverbs 11:17 "The merciful man does himself good, But the cruel man does himself harm."

The entire 107th Psalm is enough to understand the nature of lovingkindness, both as it comes from God, and as it is to be applied. But we must comprehend that the understanding of these verses, the faith and Fear of the Lord, the completeness of the Law, comes from understanding the Law and how it is now completed.

So well said! Completed in Christ, but Christ did not take anything away from it.

Nope he did not. He fulfilled it. Because we were unable to. Thus he fulfills it in us. As it brings us to repentnance and keeps us humble children of God.

for those of us born again, It does increase mightily. for every day we see how utterly impossible it is to keep it, and how much mercy we need From God. As Paul did!

For those trying to be saved by keeping it. They do not understand it, Or they would understand they could never keep it.

And so the whole duty of a Christian is to go our and break the Law with alacrity?

Ecc 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
 
Well said, it's a human response, yet again. Something that God wants from us, not to mention, give us, requires a human response. Will you keep His commandments ? Will you accept His grace ? God's greatest of 'grace' follows the time of all the Old Testament, including the laws of Moses. Christ's coming did so much for us all, so much, freed us from everything in us keeping us from Him . We can ONLY be made free by His Son having died on the cross, don't make it more complicated than it is, Christ FULFILLED the laws of Moses when he died on the cross, as, before He died, He TAUGHT the laws of Moses. So, the importance of the laws of Moses must be understood, they are THERE so that we can SEE that we are in need of a Saviour. We can't be PERFECT !! :( But, Christ IS perfect, and, He fulfilled the law , perfection, it is something He WANTS us to attain, just as Scripture states, "Be ye perfect as I am perfect." This is a direct encouragement to us, it is NOT saying we are PERFECT, now, NO! We can't be, we are living in the Spirit who are His but we have a flesh and being body and it will cleave to things of the flesh. But, through Christ's living in us, we can become more and more spiritual, just as Hebrews teaches us, we are to move our minds aways from 'earthly things' and more and more to 'spiritual things' taking THEIR place. Hard to do, that's where God's mercy, God's Love, and, of course, His grace feed into our minds that we have, that are in tune with Christ's because Paul says so himself, we don't have God's mind, we can't know God's thoughts Isaiah 58) but we DO have 'the mind of Christ.' This shows us the truth of the Law, which was made to control and show our flesh what we are NOT to do, but, when Christ came and died He AUGMENTED those 10 commandments of Moses, for Christ showed us the way to do more, loving Him FIRST, and, with our heart, mind, and, body, and,also loving others as we love ourselves.

can you see how 1 and 2 NEW commandments augmented the meaning of the 10 ? God gave us Himself on the cross and because of that grace given us, that greatest of grace, we are to let Him lead our life and that WILL happen, brothers and sisters, IF we make Him our sola FOcUS in life AND we love OTHERS, and, YES!, that includes those who believe doctrine different than you, as we love ourselves.

And, don't you KNOW it, we really do LOVE ourselves. Deep down inside, despite what anyone tells you, YOU love YOU. We all do, we are WIRED that way, Scripture tells us this, so, fine-tune your desires fo yourself to go onto others, and, this unselfish behavior will SCREAM Love in such a way that you will be following Christ's fullfillment of the laws of Moses :)
