You took down my horse
and that fall hurt deep inside
I was preparing myself to meet you
in my best clothes and presentation
but now I am embarrassed
with my face full of dirt and eating dust
this is not the way I expected to meet you
I thought I was fighting by your side
but all I did was going against you
I thought Heaven was my reward for all my zeal
but my deeds were leading me straight to Hell
You closed my eyes and made me blind
you made me unable to do anything by myself
All I saw was deep black darkness all around me
I was bathed and fed by strangers I did not know
In my quiet nights when I could weep alone
you taught me your word and I shut my mouth
My death sentence became unexpected mercy
my judgment became grace and forgiveness
I learned now the lesson in the tough way
you gave me the mission I was trying to reduce to ashes
What a paradox and total madness
My friends would become mine enemies
and my enemies would become my friends
I do not know what I could expect from tomorrow
all I have got is that word you gave me
You put my life in trials, dangers and tribulation
to teach me how far I was going to be faithful to you
to show me everyday who was the ruler and who was the servant
You gave me grace and only that is I all I have
You called me apostle despite my hands were full of innocent blood

to distant nations I never knew before
to make me realize how tiny my pride was
And like Isaac my back was wrenched
and now I depend of many people to go on

and give second chances to those who failed
