yes satan's rebellion would have taken place between day six and the day the serpent appeared to eve...we might possibly rule out day seven too...but that is probably a matter of opinion...

this is why i lean OEC when in reality i fall on the "ill ask God when i see him" side. The OECs usually point out facts and discuss counterpoints. YEC usually do something like call you a disrespectful youth and a false prophet in a lab coat while saying you arent saved because you disagree with them.

well i don't 'follow' any particular young earth creation apologist...i follow christ...and other christians including both young and old earth creationists follow him along with me...
but if you are just wondering who i regard as the best young earth creation apologist today...my favorite is dr. andrew snelling from answers in genesis...

This is simply not true with the OECs I've encountered. Many are downright rude and use strawmen. But theistic evolutionists are generally worse than normal evolutionists. They can be so very brutal.
Even looking at this thread, it follows what i proposed. The OECs here have said it isnt a salvation sticking point while a couple YECs have insulted me and/or said the view of old vs young earth is a salvation sticking point.

not from my experience...usually the old earth creationists don't bother actually presenting scientific facts...instead they simply demand that you accept that the earth is billions of years old and then accuse you of being a science denialist if you don't...

check the websites out before you dismiss them. Ive read through a few YEC sites because i wanted to learn the truth of the matter.

It's not a salvation sticking point, but it most certainly can be a stumbling block. I've read a comprehensive book on Hugh Ross' beliefs (Refuting Compromise) and how to combat them, among other resources. I know the stuff they believe and how and why it doesn't line up with God's Word.

When I added it, I rounded it up to 15,000 years just to be safe, but I think 6,000 is too short, somewhere between 10,000 to 15,000. It is important because mankind says that dinosaurs lived millions of years before humans, but God said He created all in a week. There is no such thing as a million years ago for the earth. The bible says let God be right and every man a liar. This issue really violates some people's faith. But don't let your faith be shaken, we have the genealogy from Adam to Christ, and documentation from Christ to now.

Sure. Anything can be a stumbling block for those who don't want to believe in Christ. But should we put our trust in what God's Word says or what human reason 'Science' says? We should be working from the Bible outwards. Not working outwards into the Bible. Nature isn't the 67th book of the Bible.

Why do you think the Bible contradicts science? Why do you feel it is necessary to make it so? Why do you think God would make the world ordered and understandable and then make this break the chain?

Because the human philosophies that are mistakenly called 'Science' come from a worldview that is based entirely in so-called naturalism. It's a worldview philosophy, not testable, repeatable observations. If something doesn't line up with God's Word, it's not His Word that needs changing.

Anyways I'm not here to convince you and i doubt i even could if i cared to. Due to the science the biblical support, and how i have been treated by YECs in the past, im still leaning OEC but in the end, ill ask God when i die.
