Hey guys, been nosing around forums a bit of late and saying very little but I have a bit of a situation that I want good, sound wisdom on.

Essentially, as any of you have spoken to me will know, I don't really have local christian friends, the ones my age at church have little interest in things of God. I got involved over a year and a half ago in our youth ministry, and over time spent a lot of time with the young people.

One of them is the son of a family very close to mine, and so often when our parents meet up, we go along so we can chat or play video games or whatever, and we have developed a sort of brotherly relationship. He is 14 (15 on 21/6) Due to this, whenever he is on holiday, and I am off work, he asks to hang out with me, and we.normally end up spending the entire day with each other, playing video games, chatting about church, bible, our thoughts on current situations within church etc... Because of this relationship, I have become quite friendly with 2 of our other youths, whom spend time with me sometimes when I hang out with him, mostly just playing video games on xbox for most part.

my question is, is it wrong or weird that I am hanging out with and finding fellowship with 14/15 year olds from my church? Its always kept appropriate and above board, just mostly gaming, chatting about school and church, giving advice and wisdom where I can, and watching movies.

Please no trolls... Just genuine Christian answers :)

No, I think it is great that you are being a godly example to the younger generation. Having someone that they obviously feel they can relate to will really help them further their faith. For you however it would be great to have friends who are at a similar or farther point in their faith so that you can be encouraged by them as well. :) Good luck

Hello, we have a large mix of people at our church, the parents and older people tend to gather together, but we all chat together and have much younger kids up to older ones in late teens. I think as a Christian this would be the norm as I have been to several different church's and we are always welcomed in to a group even though we are from another Church.

Yes, it's weird. Go sign up for some college classes and meet people 18+ and kill two birds with one stone (e.g. get a college education and meet people your own age to spend time with). Who knows? Maybe you'll even meet a girl. That sounds like it will be quite a change for you.

My opinion: no, as long as it's clean, let alone good, it's not weird or wrong. If ageism can be deemed wrong, then on the same token, discriminating a younger generation can be wrong. So in that sense─and again, as long as it is clean and even good─I don't see how this might be weird or wrong.

And if you're enjoying new company, heck! I'm glad to hear it. :)

one i have finished college. Two I dont want a woman. Three older people like you are the reason why the younger generation lost respect for their elders. Thank you bye.

Malcy,
We know each other far too well for me to give you any kind of "permission" to do this. You know where you are headed.

God bless this boy! Growing up so fast!

Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 10:42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.
