A man is trapped on a lonely island. Every day he prays for God to help him. After a few weeks, a ship arrives at the island. But the man says "Leave me here! God will come and save me."
So the ship leaven and the man stays on the island. And again he prays everyday to be rescued.
After another couple of weeks a second ship finds the man. But again he insists on staying, knowing that god will come and rescue him.
Another week passes and the man is getting really sick. He has no food left and is close to his death. With his last breath he asks:
"God, why didn't you come for me?"
And God answeres:
"I sent you two boats. What else did you expect me to do?"

haha I love that joke only the version I know is a guy stranded on his roof during a flood and three boats come by... I use that joke a lot when someone expects things to happen w/o putting some effort into it.

There was a case in Oregon recently where a couple didn't believe in medicine, only prayer. Their daughter died from a fixable medical problem. A prime example of sending away a boat come to help.
I think it's limiting God's power by not allowing him to heal through medicine.

I don't really actively seek to date, although I don't expect God to gift wrap my Mr Right either. If I take a liking to someone I open myself up, am friendly, converse, and see what happens.
