The book of Malachi has nothing to do with the Antichrist or his mark. Neither is it about learning how to barter and stocking up food. It is about Israel and its Priests holding God and his covenant in contempt by offering him unacceptable animal sacrifices and disobeying his commandments. It is about offering acceptable tithes and promising blessings if they turn from sin and rebellion. Malachi which is Hebrew for messenger prophesied that 'Elijah' will come before the coming of the Messiah. John the Baptiser came in the Spirit of Elijah before Christ started his ministry. His Disciples asked Jesus about this Prophecy and his reply was that Elijah had already come but the people had rejected him. They realized he was talking about John the Baptiser The last days started at the first coming of Christ not now.

First we have to understand who is going to be receiving that mark and it is not going to be the church, because we won't be here during the time when the mark will be the only method of buying and selling. Nor it is not going to be the great tribulation saints, because scripture says that "they will not love their lives so much as to shrink away from death while keeping the testimony of Jesus and the word of God."

Those who will be receiving the mark are those listed below:

"And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation. All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life, the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world.[/quote]

"The inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the creation of the world will be astonished when they see the beast, because he once was, now is not, and yet will come."

Therefore, those who will worship the beast, his image and receive his mark, will be those whose names were not written in the book of life before the world began. Those who will resist the beast, his image and his mark, will be Israel who will flee out into the wilderness when the abomination is set up in the middle of the seven years. And the great tribulation saints who will fear and love God more than their own lives not willing to worship the beast, his image nor receive his mark.

Those who do receive it, will be those who continue to reject Christ and who will love their own lives more than God and will do whatever they have to do in order to save their lives. "Whoever seeks to save his life will loose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it."

The belief that the forehead represents "to make a decision" and the hand represents "taking action" is a Seventh Day Adventist teaching. The mark of the beast however is literal and will go under or on the skin of the hand for the purpose of buying and selling. To Put that into perspective for today, the mark will replace card swiping and cell phone bank apps. as a method for crediting and debiting one's bank account.

The idea that the mark is to be interpreted as being spiritual or symbolic is a moot point because of the fact that people are already having chip implants under the skin of the hand with one of its purposes being to make electronic purchases. This chip implant, which will likely evolve into something more applicable, in conjunction with the electronic crediting and debiting system which has been here for some time, is what the mark will eventually run on. The scripture which says, "he forces all both great and small, rich and poor, free and slave" I believe will take place by the removal of all other methods of buying and selling leaving that mark as the only method for crediting and debiting their bank accounts.

Once this happens it won't be long before the rest of the companies in this country and the world, follow suit.

I think you have a whole bigger problem than worrying about Food..and the mark of the beast.

The verse before Revelation 3: 16 states::

15 "And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. {16} And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:"

This is why context is so important and why preaching doctrines derived from isolated verses is a danger..

In verse 15 He causes all who refuse to worship the image of the beast to be put to death.... So true Christians who refuse to worship the image of the beast will not be here to have the opportunity to recieve the Mark of the beast which comes about in the next verse.. So again people will have to worship the image of the beast to be granted the reward (and i believe it will be seen as being a reward by those who will worship the image) of the Mark of the beast..

It would not be a good thing to fine oneself here during the time of the antichrist and that because his revealing takes place during the time of God's wrath.

Believer's will be gathered before the antichrist is revealed. The restraining of the Holy Spirit through the presence of the church is what is keeping the antichrist from being revealed until his proper time. Once the Holy Spirit is taken out of the way and the church with Him, then the man of lawlessness will be revealed.

Otherwise and speaking for myself, if I were here during that time, I would know the antichrist immediately and that because I know just about everything that scripture has to say about him, as well as the false prophet.

Well honestly the chip is in fact the closest thing I have ever seen to being the mark, it goes on the right hand or forehead it can be used to bu and sell and it even has the capabilities to alter dna apparently to help heal genetic illnesses and such.
I do wonder if it isn't a physical mark then why does revelation speak of the right hand and forehead but then again almost all of revelation is symbolic. I do not really think the mark is even just a physical one I think it is also a spiritual one.

I don't think it changes ones beliefs or thinking I think it rather is a matter of allegiance. for instance I watched the pirates of the caribbean and in it davy jones would always say to people who were either going to die or near death do you fear death? and would offer them to join his crew or be killed. the human weakness of being faced with death would often times cause them to join his crew for eternity although one man who had a cross in his trembling hands refused and was killed.

I think it will be the same thing, I don't think people will be unaware I think they will be given the choice to pledge their allegiance and live or die and only those who have the mark will be allowed to buy or sell

Because receiving the mark will be the ultimate rebellion against God. People will be directly aligning themselves with Satan to save their own lives. They will be the opposite of those great tribulation saints who will not love their lives so much as to shrink away from death while keeping their testimony of Jesus and the word of God. The word "charagma" translated as "mark" figuratively carries the meaning of "a mark providing undeniable identification, like a symbol giving irrefutable connection between parties."

It will be the ultimate rejection of Christ.
