Hi everyone

I am a dummy at computers, so please bear with me.

I installed a software on my pc "Effecient Diary". I use it daily.

I have a pocket size harddrive with 500GB.
How do I keep a copy of the software on this external harddrive so that I will be able:?

1. to update my diary from my external harddrive when I am not at home
2. Then to be able to download it back onto my pc so that my diary on the pc is updated

Thanks

You cannot backup a program itself, but there should be a way to export and import your diary entries. See if the program has an option for this; usually import/export is under "File" or "Edit" when you're in the program.

- Export means to withdraw the data from the program and save it somewhere, so that you can access it outside of the program. If available, use this to copy your diary entries to your external hard drive for backup.
- Import means to take what you previously exported, and put it back into the program, so to speak. If available, use this to copy anything you previously exported back to the program, so you can work with it again.

Unfortunately, you can't install the program to your external hard drive and then run the program from it while using another computer. The only way to do that is to have a "portable" version of the program, which does not require installing. :)
