What are these here? Is it possible to set up a chat type group for a private study with certain people?

I was just curious

Not the chat microphone conversations, or the chatroom type of thing, but more of a private study between a couple of people but off the larger board type thing.

Is that similar to what that might be?

Because I wasnt sure.

Chat groups are just smaller forums. One person creates and runs the group. None of the posts show up in the main forums, but i believe they are still visible through google. People can create their own 'threads' within the chat group.
The owner can set the group to public availability, where anyone can join. Or private, where people have to be approved to join.
It seems the biggest downfall to them, though, is people don't often actively participate in them for very long.
But whatever group you join does show up on your profile as you being a member.
People use them for a variety of topics. Musical tastes, singles, widows, mental illness, etc... Really any smaller niche that doesn't have enough users to get a full section in the forums.

Thats great Ugly, thats what I was wondering whether you had here, thanks. And that would be just fine that it is viewable through google it wouldnt have to be "super secret" or anything just a little place away from whichever distractions one might wish to avoid and concentrate it with a couple of people you feel could be very helpful.

And I wouldn't want for any long period of time anyway, it would be more to discuss the scriptures, whether it be a couple of points here or there which wouldnt require length of time, so it would only be for short periods of time.

Its just good to know you have these as options, thats perfect.

If the time come that I wanted to form one, how would I go about starting it?

Thanks again, God bless

At the top of the page, in the dark blue line, you'll see choices. One says 'Community'. Under that it says 'Chat Groups'. It shows you a list of available groups to join, and near the top left is the option to create your own.

Let me know when you start your group
Sure, you'd be interested?

Thats good to know, there are a few I would seek to get together because theres just certain you think can be a big help as you watch how they handle the scripture, and I have some difficult areas myself and I do better with certain folks than others, I feel better about pulling up a chair beside them and feel they could be helpful, which isnt too common for me. So I am keeping my eyes peeled myself, I just wanted to know if that option was available.

Thats Cool though WarriorFor Christ! I will let you know if/when I do and I'll come down here and shoot you a PM then

God bless you
