confused- 2 questions

Question 1 is about "FOLLOWING"

When following a person, am I suppose to get alerts to things they post and do?



Question 2 is about others profiles:

I was looking for someone.
Under their name does not say guest or banned but when searching for them they no longer show up and it says "profile not available"
(completley different from messages that show when someone blocks/limits their profile)
I did see them on yesterday, but still saw this message when clicking for their profile, so that REALLY left me puzzled.

Following is mostly useless. It simply is a quicker way to locate people you're following.

The profile thing may be someone who hides their profile (or only allows a certain few to view it). This can prevent it from being searched.
