What browser are you using? If its something that was installed as an addon then in most browsers you go to the settings and look at extensions or addons. If you see something about ''im an addon bar'' then that is probably what placed that there.
You can usually disable or remove it.

In chrome you can press the icon in the upper right corner that looks like ..after that click settings, and on the left second option down should be extensions. You can see what bars may be installed under that option.

That was a nice try but I still have this odd tool bar that only shows up when on this forum. It has a "Share" message with an arrow. CLicking on it shows places I can post from this forum to facebook, twitter, etc.

Are you using the mobile version of the site? What you described is the mobile version of the new social sharing buttons that we added. In the full site they float on the left. In the mobile version of the site a gray bar appears at the bottom as you described. Are you using the mobile version? Anyway in that mobile version you simply click the arrow to the right of the gray bar to remove it (but I'm not sure if it will stay removed on successive pages).
