Can I mention someone else's good work?
Please do, go for it.
I would like to read about just one good work that proves a person has true faith like that of James.
No one has yet, so you would be the first.

I believe in the Messiah's Testament.
Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
I hate to keep doing this but how does that line up with the scripture above?
I'm looking for a good work that both Jesus and James is talking about that they were at least able to show others while glorifying God and not themselves.

Regardless of whether he was boasting or stating, what were the works he was willing to show that would not have been a sin or bringing glory to himself but to God?
Well I think it to be the Law of liberty/Law of YHWH, because he talks about it and says to be a doer of the word and not a hearer only, and others support this I believe;

James 2:14-26, “14 My brothers, what use is it for anyone to say he has belief but does not have works? This belief is unable to save him. 15, "And if a brother or sister is naked and in need of daily food, 16, "but one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” but you do not give them the bodily needs, what use is it? 17, "So also belief, if it does not have works, is in itself dead. 18, "But someone might say, “You have belief, and I have works.” Show me your belief without your works, and I shall show you my belief by my works. 19, "You believe that Yah is one. You do well. The demons also believe – and shudder! 20, "But do you wish to know, O foolish man, that the belief without the works is dead? 21, "Was not Aḇraham our father declared right by works when he offered Yitsḥaq his son on the slaughter-place? 22, "Do you see that the belief was working with his works, and by the works the belief was perfected? 23, "And the Scripture was filled which says, “Aḇraham believed Yah, and it was reckoned to him for righteousness.” And He called him, “he who loves Yah. 24, "You see, then, that a man is declared right by works, and not by belief alone. 25, "In the same way, was not Raḥaḇ the whore also declared right by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? 26, “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so also the belief is dead without the works.”

Psalm 119:44-45, "That I might guard Your Law continually, Forever and ever; That I might walk in liberty, For I have sought Your orders;"

James 1:22-25, “And become doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. Because if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror, for he looks at himself, and goes away, and immediately forgets what he was like. But he that looked into the perfect Law of liberty, and continues in it, not becoming a hearer that forgets, but a doer of work, this one shall be blessed in his doing of the Law.”

James 2:8-12, “If you truly accomplish the sovereign Law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself, (Lev 19:18) you do well, but if you show partiality, you commit sin, being found guilty by the Law as transgressors. For whoever shall guard all the Law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” (Exo 20:14) also said, “Do not murder.” (Exo 20:13) Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of Law. So speak and so do as those who are to be judged by the Law of liberty.”

1 John 3:7, "Little children, let no man deceive you; he who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous."

Deuteronomy 6:25, "And it is righteousness for us when we guard to do all this command before יהוה our Strength, as He has commanded us.”

Psalm 119:172, “My tongue sings of Your word, For all Your commands are righteousness.”

Isaiah 51:7, “Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, a people in whose heart is My Torah: do not fear the reproach of men, nor be afraid of their revilings.”

1 Corinthians 7:19, The circumcision is naught, and the uncircumcision is naught, but the guarding of the commands of Yah does matter!”

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, “Let us hear the conclusion of the entire matter: Fear Yah and guard His commands, for this applies to all mankind! For Yah shall bring every work into right-ruling, including all that is hidden, whether good or whether evil.”

1 John 5:17, "All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not unto death."

1 John 3:4, "Whoever commits sin, transgresses also the Law; for sin is the transgression of the Law."

See the contrast? Righteousness to obedience against sin to disobedience, summed up in a single verse here:

Romans 6:16, "Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves servants for obedience, you are servants of the one whom you obey, whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?"

I can't believe anyone would boast of anything to men... because here is a thought.. an atheist donates all his money to the poor to be seen of men as good.. does this save him? Think not..

we are to have Faith in the Lord.. what works come from that Faith is what the Lord will judge us by. A man must be Born again of the Holy Spirit and that is by Believing in GOD's Son our Lord and Saviour.

It is the True Root that nourishes our branches to bear His fruit.. that is believing.

Any branch boasting of its fruit needs to humble itself lest he be found unbelieving in the True Vine that gives the life and fruit..

Jas 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

Some people profess to have faith, but have not good works to back that said faith up, and some do.
What good works have you done that shows you have this God kind of faith?
What good work(s) have you done that proves you are a child of God?
The bible says that signs will follow them that believe, and that there will be tares AMONG the wheat, IN the church, so what specific signs followed you that says, you are the wheat and not the tare?
Well, you'll need come visit to see, I guess.

To testify here would be the most difficult thing to do.
To summarize, tough indeed. This isn't about what others do. It's about What are you Doing in Faith.
Are you exercising your Belief System and seeing the results?
Well, I do exactly that and have greatest difficulty with those around me that Doubt.

See Jesus, the man. He was really real. Endless Debates can't change the fact that this Name, Exists.

The story of his life starts in the gospel of Matthew and pretty soon in it His Standing On The High Temple Wall.
But the story does not end there. It continues. It sees so much more colour and movement that surely means only one thing.
Jesus Chose Life. He argued himself out of jumping off the High Temple Wall. Yet he had spent 40 days in the desert. Can you imagine the Stress?
Under great stress, Jesus Chose To Live. Jesus Chose Life and to live it to the full. Jesus had tasted the stones and even considered eating them for his hunger.
Yet, he knew even in Great Stress of Hunger, it would kill him. He chose Life by not eating the stones, Yet he got to know All about stones.

So what have I done? I have walked in the shadows of deaths. 10x. Never on a cliff but in various ways. Why?

Jesus said, Follow Me. Meaning Follow my example. And I have and I do each and every moment. But if you want proof, you'll Have to visit.
I have photos of the words printed in the bible, play off word for word. I have found this treasure in a field. You'll not believe what treasure I found.
I have saved a few. Including and old man who use to be very wealthy, who by a misunderstanding was cast aside by his wife. He was treated like compost by his child, he was broken at 77 yrs.
This man had never touched the Bible. This man grew up communist. This man spent 5 days under my roof. A tent roof.
This man went away with a bible and Matthew 7:7 inscribed in his heart.
This man Lives now. Bogdan his reconciled with his wife and his possessions. I touched Bogdan physically, but God touched Bogdan's Life.
He is 79 this year.

What have I done to deserve even one of the Blessings I receive. I've Tested the words in the bible. They are really Real. Each and every one.

That lines up with Scripture my dear.. no one here is saying they are not shining the Light given them... they simply will not boast openly for that lines up not with not letting...

Matthew 6
1Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
2Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 3But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: 4That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

So if we say we believe we do... not to boast but like you shared to give glory to Heavenly Father.

Now.. why are you here trying to tempt folks to boast before you? Are you a judge or a doer?

These lines. Placing the light on a high shelf comes after what you do in secret will be rewarded you. Jesus also was instructing those that were outcast. No the well offs of the world. The bible is a tool. A set of instructions taught so IF you fall. IF your life leads you to the cliffs edge, you have the teaching in you to recall. Without it, You will jump.
Suicide is the greatest scourge of all. Desperate people without Hope. Families in tears. Examples followed by those unable to cope anymore. And you asking to keep it secret??
I have seen good Christian people choose out. Choosing Death over Life. To me there death is the failing of Church. To teach the bible for the preaches meal ticket is wrong. Very wrong.
So please. The wind blows and roofs topple. Do you honestly believe the tears are going to go unnoticed???
4 million people's families cry each year across the globe and those in Doubt Do nothing.

What on earth does that have to do with us each here blowing a trumpet in front of each other?

You have seen good Christian people kill themselves? I don't like that because it gives way for the suicide pacts that take place.. if a person took their own life in desperation of the darkness then I understand that desperation but to call them good Christians.. We have our Hope in Christ who is Good.

The wind blows and thouse built on Christ stand and abide by the power of GOD through their Faith.

We abide and when the tempter comes with the solution of killing ourselves to ease the pain we rebuke Him and Love and Trust in GOD.. for whether we are called to abide or sleep without breath in us until the Last Trump let us be Faithful unto the end for His Glory.

I walk in newness of life. The old me is gone and the new me goes before men to testify of what Christ has done in me. I speak of Christ as I never could before and I tell others of the Christ Who saved me from my sins. I act differently and I desire things that I never had any interest in before. I enjoy the word of God and I seek out good preaching. I delight to fellowship with Gods people on Sunday at church.

Where are all the Pentecostals and charismatics? Why are they not here telling of their great works of tongues, healings and words of prophecy? Surely those who have healed others and raised the dead should testify of such. No extra charge for the side bar.

2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

For the cause of Christ

If good works are works of gold, silver and precious stones how would you describe works of wood, hay and stubble that get burnt to a crisp yet the one with said works is still SAVED as yet through the fire?

AND I will add

Those who have believed into JESUS have done the will and WORKS of the Heavenly FATHER already!
Still waiting on an answer...........!

Ditto brother. Great answer! :)

There will be many people who thought they did works that prove they had true faith in God, yet will be very disappointed to find out otherwise (Matthew 7:22-23).

I've noticed that in other posts as well that know1 stresses faith "of" God rather than faith "in" God.

2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Amen and praise the Lord! :)

I would offer continue to walk by the same spirit of faith, of Christ, that comes from hearing God as he gives us ears to hear what the Spirit is saying..

This is knowing if he is our confidence as one who has begun the god work of salvation he will finish it to the end .

There are no such things as a “sign gifts” as that which could prove a person has the true faith of God. All died not receiving their new incorruptible bodies. For who would hope for something they think they have?

No one is walking on water. When we get the eyes of faith off of Jesus, the author and perfecter of it... we all sink like a lead balloon.

We have a continuing dept to love one another, the royal law which shows God's unending, unfailing love for us. If he began the good work of loving us he will finish it. He who can see into the heart of man and make it soft.. sorts out the sheep from the goats. Its our responsibility to remove the grave cloth as with Lazarus. He does the work of clothing us with his righteousness .

And these all, having obtained a good report “through faith”, received not “the promise”:God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect. Heb 11:39
The twinkling of the eye.

That would be everybody then, because everybody says they believe in Jesus.
The bible says the tares are among the wheat. If they look, walk, talk, and act like a child of God, how will you be able to tell them apart from the true children?

2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2Ti 3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

And how does one show this belief in Jesus that others may see this light/good works and glorify God?
You did not answer my question but instead refuted what Jesus said. Here is my question again...

Specifically, what works are required and how much works to prove one has true faith?

I couldn't wait for the one you asked...

My answer would be "You said You would never leave me nor forsake me"

To visit orphans (Fatherless) and widows (without husbands) in their affliction.

Which is discussing the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to those who are without Him.
