God blessed, sanctified and called holy the seventh day as part of creation itself and it is very good. It's special time to God and time to all who are part of God's family. In the same way, the marriage covenant is special to God and to all who are part of God's family. The valuable things of God are what makes His creation great. They protect the goodness of God and His creation.

God protects the seventh day and the covenant of marriage with His Law, not so much for those who are part of His family and who value the same things that He values, but for those who don't value what God values. The Law is against those who behave in such a way that it destroys the goodness of God's creation and destroys relationships.

The Sabbath is special time to God. It's blessed, sanctified and holy as part of creation. God set it aside for His family gathering. There is a special blessing attached to honoring the seventh day just like there is a special blessing when we honor our parents. Those who honor the seventh day and acknowledge it as, God's memorial of creation and His set apart time, will find great joy living in the will of their Father. They look forward to the blessings that come through being faithful to God and joy of His people in unity.

Now here is the logic of sinful man.

A Christian comes to you and says, "Receive Christ and you will no longer have to call the Sabbath a delight". "Come to Christ and that day you call a joy and a blessing to celebrate will be done away" "Come to Christ and be delivered from the blessings of honoring God and fellowshiping with His people on His special day" "Come to Christ and He will deliver you from the delight of the Sabbath" "Come to Christ and He will deliver you from the Lord's Day and save you from riding on the high hills of the earth and from being fed with the heritage of Jacob" "Come to Christ and all those Sabbath fellowships and family gatherings on God's ordained day will be out of your life and done away with"

The Sabbath is blessed, holy and very good. We don't need deliverance from it, we need to see it as a delight and that can only happen through salvation through the new birth.

Remember the trickery of Satan, he makes good look evil and evil look good.

Very well put thread

1 John 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1 John 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
1 John 2:6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
1 John 2:7 Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.

Mat 13:13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
Mat 13:14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
Mat 13:15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
Mat 13:16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
Mat 13:17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

So Jesus returns after everyone either accepts or rejects the sabbath?

Strange ideology.

Belivers or not we will all bow.

“By myself I have sworn; from my mouth has gone out in righteousness a word that shall not return: To me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear allegiance.” Isaiah 45:23

In Colossians 2:16-17, the apostle Paul declares, “Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.” Similarly, Romans 14:5 states, “One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.” These Scriptures make it clear that, for the Christian, Sabbath-keeping is a matter of spiritual freedom, not a command from God. Sabbath-keeping is an issue on which God’s Word instructs us not to judge each other. Sabbath-keeping is a matter about which each Christian needs to be fully convinced in his/her own mind.

Surely like the old days...

Who is it he is trying to teach? To whom is he explaining his message? To children weaned from their milk, to those just taken from the breast? For it is: Do this, do that, a rule for this, a rule for that; a little here, a little there.” :)

I agree, it does not even matter whether one continues to be a serial killer or rapist.

Receive Christ and talk about love all day long would give one the best of both worlds so why not?

All that I do know is that we were unable to be in accordance with God's kingdom. No matter how hard we try to make our kingdom as the way our Father's kingdom is. We have divorce, but His doesn't; and we have all sort of problems like even including hatred toward one another. God is trying to tell us that we can't have a good foundation while evil is in us, because it will try to divide up the house until there is no structure left. Right now, no one can't work together because we are all separated from each other like separate nations that is in battle with each other nations. Now God has to remove the evil that is in us so that our kingdom can function like His kingdom.

Matthew 6:10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Amen! Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven starts with us. The true power of the Gospel is seen in a changed life for God.

No, we just need to understand them, even if they are hard to understand.

2 Peter 3:15-16 and consider that the long suffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.

And you are pretty good at twisting them!

So I say we express our love to God by how He defines love and you say I'm twisting things? Very interesting logic but it smells like smoke.

Do you mean JEsus' teaching or Armstrong's teaching?

That or reconcile them to the basic teachings of Jesus Christ. That'd prolly be better.
Jesus never, not even once, talked about Sunday but He over and over again taught us how to honor the Sabbath in light of loving God and loving others. Jesus even confirmed the Sabbath forty years after His resurrection, Matthew 24:20. His followers continued to honored the Sabbath, according to the commandment, after the death of Jesus, Luke 23:56. Any comments on the fact that Jesus never taught us to do away with seventh day Sabbath in order to honor Sunday?
