I asked for clarification because the words "the works of" were added to the verse. I try to understand what someone means when he/she adds to Scripture.
I didn't add anything to scripture, I was speaking from my own words. Here is my own words--->>>>

Is there a difference between love and "the works" of love?
You tried to suggest/imply that I was adding words to scripture, but when I actually quote scripture I do not add to or take away from it. But clearly as I showed above I was not quoting scripture but speaking in my own words, which you then tried to misrepresent as me quoting scripture, because you have no desire to understand what I was saying all along, you only came to try to bring accusations by misrepresenting my own words. Have a nice day. :)

Do a search on the phrase D.I.Y. "self righteousness" by G-man, I bet you get a lot of hits on that straw man phrase. :)

Wow. Another very loving response.

It is not true, InSpiritInTruth, that I have no desire to understand what you were saying all along.

A person cannot ask you questions concerning your statements? Is that it, InSpiritInTruth? When we read your posts, we are not to hold your statements up to the light of Scripture and ask for clarification?

I do not believe that is the case and so I asked for clarification right off the bat.

Does Gal 5:6 say faith is energized by the works of love?

Or does Gal 5:6 say faith is energized by love?

I believe Gal 5:6 says the latter. Perhaps to you, "the works of" love is the same as "love". They are not the same to me.

Can you clarify? Is "the works of" love the same as "love"? Thank you.

To which you replied:

Yes, there is love, as in your own love, and there is the Love of God that "works" in a born again Christian by the Spirit.

And my response to you:

I asked for clarification because the words "the works of" were added to the verse. I try to understand what someone means when he/she adds to Scripture. I believe God was very careful when He spoke what He wanted written so I am careful in quoting Scripture or when others quote Scripture. I also try to understand when others give their understanding of Scripture.
