Spiritual Jerusalem? You have to test this, but who has killed the prophets in time past? Was it not those who professed to serve the living God? It was, the Pharisees and religious are the ones who kill the prophets, not the heathens.

I believe in that instance the perfect is the completion of the Bible.
You are welcome to that belief also.

But I imagine that Jesus is the only perfection to step on the earth, and even now He is being perfected by our suffering, as we fill up that which is lacking in Him.

Isn't he already perfect? I don't think Jesus can get anymore perfect. lol

Indeed it is......even for a "prophet". Of what purpose is compassion if it is not built up in truth ?

"VW:
I hate your assemblies. I loath your offerings. I despise your service. Your prayers I do not hear, because they are for your own lusts. Your hands are dirty, and your lips have become numb. Your ears do not hear, nor do your eyes see."
If a person is blind and deaf and dumb and yet they believe that they are rich and perfect and have need of nothing, is it compassion to let them remain in their deception?

God tells us the truth, not some fairy tell. If we need corrected, He tells us, and if we will not hear Him, then He sends His servants, and if we still will not hear, then He has sent His Son, whom we murdered.

And if one repents and receives the forgiveness and compassion of God, that indeed does bring life from death.

oh and all TRUE prophets die in Jerusalem so if they don't die there then they aren't sent by God for Jesus said:

Luke 13:33
Nevertheless I must journey today, tomorrow, and the day following; for it cannot be that a prophet should perish outside of Jerusalem.

unless you guys thinks that verse means something else.
Seeing as how this was a response to Herod, whom Jesus called a fox, yes, I think it does mean something else.

I hate it whenever one takes one sentence out of scripture to make a point. It is almost always results in a misuse of scripture to support a belief, rather than a spiritual use of scripture to show the truth.

"Behold, your house is left to you desolate; and I say to you, you shall not see Me until the time comes when you say, "BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!""

I guess you could make a doctrine that every prophet must die in Jerusalem from this one sentence, if you must. But we know that not all of the prophets died in Jerusalem, and some have not died yet. We do know that the 2 witnesses die there.

But to me it seems a stretch.

You do not know scripture.

Jesus is being perfected by the suffering of the saints.

This shows just how much we are one with Him and He with us.

God has made it to be that we are a part of His Son, just as He and His Son are one with each other.

Now we see in a glass darkly, but then face to face. In another place it says that as we stare with wide open eyes at Him in this glass darkly, we behold His glory and are changed into the same glory as if from glory to glory.

This is the most vile and slanderous lie I have yet to read on this forum. "OUR suffering".....as "WE" fill up that which is lacking in Him (who was and is perfect). This is an absolute disgrace. PEOPLE......TAKE NOTE !! THIS IS WHY ZONE, I AND OTHERS TAKE THE STAND THAT WE DO AGAINST THESE SELF-PROCLAIMED PROPHETS>>>>>>>>>THERE IS NO SUCH THING TODAY !!!!!

And you call yourself a believer in Jesus.

A sterile faith is a dead faith. To be alive in Christ is to know Him, to love Him and to seek His presence above all things. The righteous man comes to the light, and Jesus is the light.

Twist words as you may. I said significant service, not become significant.

It is always easy to find fault. It is hardest to leave judgment aside, and seek truth and compassion and building up.

Tell the truth, you prefer that there be no prophets so your sin can remain undiscovered.

VW, i think its actually easier for the Holyspirit to convict a heart than it would be to subcontract the job :)

Ask Christ what He said to those who were and are spiritually blind, deaf and dumb......the lost. This is the subject matter. Does "compassion" tell them what they'd prefer to hear......or does it speak of God's truth that they might be found ?

Seeing how this is what is recorded in scripture, I guess that it must not be a lie.

Col, 1:24

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I do my share on behalf of His body, (which is the church) in filling up that which is lacking in Christ's afflictions.

Ask Him what He said to those who should know, who had the responsibility to teach the truth, and yet they did not teach the truth, nor did they draw near to God.

Well, if the heart is open and has not been hardened towards God voice, then yes, it is easier for the Holy Spirit to convict directly.

But that is the problem, aint it?

As we are one with Jesus, He endures our suffering even as if it was His suffering. It is His suffering!

You do not know the Lord as you should.
