If my wife said that to me, I'd continue saying what was important to me

If she then left me, problem solved.
I would tell her that God commands she tame her tongue and if she wants to leave, don't let the door hit her on the way out.

However, I love her and want to work this out. If she wants to talk like a sane rational person who loves me, then good. Otherwise I have other things in my life I can do with my time then being yelled at and degraded.

Then after some time for her to cool down. I would do something to show I forgave her and still loved her and try and talk through why she got so mean.

I would like for her to apologize but would continue to pray over our relationship.

How do you do that if she thinks she is More saved than him?
Well, there is no such thing as "more saved than" and at the end of the day lost is lost......people who are bound up in their false religion are two fold the children of Hell............all he can do is....

a) Pray
b) Lay the truth bare
c) Live it

The rest is up to God!

I'm not debating that. What I am saying is because I haven't recieved the Holy Spirit and speaking in tonges she feels she wears the pants in the family.

if this is legit not a troll thread, then wow see the kind of trouble that comes out of misinterpreting scripture and worshiping signs??

the Spirit lives in all whose faith is in Christ. go read Ephesians.
speaking in tongues is not a litmus test for being a Christian or not. go read 1,2 Corinthians.

"do all speak in tongues?"
((this is a rhetorical statement, not a question, with an obvious answer: no))

lol let me speak as a fool for a second here..

you could just fake speaking in tongues, if that's what you think is the issue.

the way it goes these days, that's easy enough to do.
some places even teach and encourage faking as a way to '
learn to do it'

just talk gibberish. maybe even fall on the floor when you're done if you want to look really spiritual.
don't worry, if no one can '
interpret' you can always claim it's an 'angelic prayer language' and question their faith if they dare not to believe you.

:p

You need sound doctrine and are showing huge error here. If you don't have the Holy Spirit then you're not saved; Romans 8:9.

IF this isn't a troll, I'll be gobsmacked!

(I'm also chuckling on how many people are trying to train a woman, who, at best, isn't even here.)

He's even trying to pretend like he didn't know what an "
Apostolic Pentecostal Christian" Jamaican is even though he's been married to one for four and a half years. And notice, no concept of anything he is other than married to her and wants to be the boss.

If this isn't a troll, this is new levels of lacking any kind of common sense.

okay...

so it seems that Apostolic refers to a different sect within Pentecostals

known by their women who do not cut their hair and must always wear dresses etc

is that right or not?

The above sounds a bit suspect to me, if it was said there will be a reason behind it.
I can't imagine a wife will threaten to leave her husband just because he can't speak in tongues.

The above if it was said, it sounds like a sentence taken out of context in the middle of an argument.
I for one would like to hear both sides to this before responding.

I once heard someone say if you want to speak in tongues then say the following very fast,
without any gaps over and over.

You see a bow tie you tie a bow tie!

(Ps I'm not being disrespectful to speaking in tongues - honest. I do it myself on occasions. But just
can't switch it on and off like some can).

i know i probably stepped on at least one toe with that other comment.

but i can't push aside the suspicion that there's an awful lot of counterfeiting out there.
i hope y'all know me well enough by now to see that that wasn't serious advice!

The issue here isn't her having tongues (she doesn't) or you not having it (you never will). Let's play along and say you 'get tongues'. Now you're in round 2 and the new argument is she's still superior to you, she has seniority. IOW utter foolishness and a flesh parade. You two need sound doctrine, that's the problem. Again, she's not filled with the Spirit, she's filled with error, lies and arrogance. That and you're not leading the home.

Get out of that heretical church.

Where is Melita when we need her. (Although Sunday, so she probably wore a skirt or dress to church. lol)

I, for one, am in my jammies again. (And cringing because I have to put on my man-pants to go out in frigid cold to clear off the car and feed birds... with bread, which clearly disturbs Ladybug. lol)

Two proverbs come to mind:

"Whoever has no rule over his own spirit
Is like a city broken down, without walls." - Proverbs 25:28

"

Better to dwell in a corner of a housetop,
Than in a house shared with a contentious woman." - Proverbs 21:9

(Sorry, couldn't get the formatting straight!) :)
