Eww!!! I guess he touched a nerve with a fan:D

After smiley got so much bad press from RIGHTEOUS men of God; he started to put more scripture up. Doesnt mean he interprets it properly does it? You shouldnt embarrass yourself by associating with smiley and asian elvis.
Oh hey! Where in the Bible does it say there are many paths to God? I was wondering where smiley got that one from?
And you and CN should be ashamed of yourselves. You guys are going to have to stand in front of God one day, and try to explain yourselves.

I guess in my Church I don't even see the tablets and the church doesn't offer bibles. They do put it up on the big screen though. I guess I just feel it is a Christians responsibility to have one in Church, or maybe I'm just old fashion lol. I can see where a tablet would be quicker to look up verses and to take notes. I'm still old school and like to bring my leather bound bible and have a small note book to take notes with.

Willie, he sidestep the issue. He's milk toast. You know he is Willie. Jesus said it straight out and with no doubt and did not cloud it:"I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

In other words, Buddha is not the way to the Father. Mohammad is not the way to the Father. My good morals are not the way to the Father. Pay tithes is not the way to the Father.

Osteen is too worried about offending others.

Osteen did not to say that. Oh, no. He protected his appeal to the millions: "I'm not the judge. I'm a happy go lucky charmer. Wake up happy. Eat breakfast. Happy. Greet the kids. Happy. Kiss the wife. Go to the church offices. New carpet. Happy."

Well he ain't Howdy Doody either, big deal.

Osteen took the power out of the meaning, the exclusivity of Jesus' words. Joel, say what they mean and don't put up the guard. Yes, thousands of your viewers will be disappointed, but the Lord won't be.

Osteen turns my stomach.

Perfect opportunity for Osteen to affirm the truth: The only way for a person to be reconciled to the Father is through JESUS CHRIST.

Search the internet. Listen to what the man says. He covers judgment against sin with wishy washy stuff.

Are there many paths to the Father? NO. Not Buddha. Not Mohammad. Not Santee Clause. Not me. Just Jesus.

Here's one,

LK: If a monk were sitting here and said that he did not believe in Jesus. He's read the bible, but he doesn't believe Jesus was raised from the dead. He believes Jesus was a good fellow, but not all the bible says. Joel, is the monk lost or saved?

Osteen: (Smile/teeth) Well Larry, you know. I just don't believe a monk would be sitting here. Your show is not a format a monk would use to spread his message. I'm not judging your show or the format. I just don't think he would be sitting here. I'm here. You're here. I think we have an audience, and that's what I'm here for. So I want to focus on that.

The truth: The monk is lost. Sad. But it's the truth. Buddha can't save the monk from his sins.

How many of you bring your own Bible to Church Service?

I've noticed for awhile now that less and less people bring their own Bible to Church. I know there are some Church's have Bibles under the chairs so they are available. I was at my sisters Church this last weekend and really didn't see anyone with a bible. A few people had tablets with them so I'm guessing they used the Bible on that. There were no Bibles under the chairs. I usually bring my Bible every Sunday so I can take notes and also check what the pastor is saying.

So just curious if this is the norm these days or do most of you see something different.
I don't think there is a "norm" these days. :) I use my tablet to look up scriptures quicker, but the church uses a power point and uses a different version of the bible than I do.

I expect such vague foolishness from lesser people here, but I consider you to be a little better than them.

I'll ask the question again..... "What did he say that is wrong?" Not a thing.... UNLESS you try to put words in his mouth that he never said.

Mr. Had.

Did Jesus miss His golden chance to really blast the woman caught in adultery when He "sidestepped" the vindictive point the accusers (LK?) wanted to focus in on? No, He basically asked the crowd if they were fit to judge (just as Osteen said), but other than that, He said nothing at all. How wish washy of Jesus........... according to some here.

One comment I don't like of his is "I don't know." The bible is pretty clear about knowing what the standards are. I agree he side stepped the question. In his defense, he has made a choice not to judge anyone and that is his choice. I agree it is biblical that God judges the unsaved but the bible is also clear we can judge other Christians. Do we have to do this? I don't think anyone has to judge anyone and in most cases it is better to not judge because most judgement comes out of bitterness or anger.

Yes different translations are confusing. One advantage of using a tablet is that you can squeeze a number of translations on it
instead of needing a wheelbarrow in case you bring the wrong one. The alternative is only attend your own church because then
you will know which one to use.

Do you know that not one single person ever brought even a tiny scrap of parchment with them to the Synagogue? Not one. And they could only take the teacher's word that what they were hearing was truly the words written. And the "sermon" was not the Scrolls. Those got read, then put back away while the teacher went on with his own personal explanation of what was meant, called a "Targum." And various teachers had differing interpretations (The "Targums" even bore the names of various teaches, they were so exclusive at times.)... often VERY different.

So, I don't think we have to get too hung up on whether or not we carry a Bible to church. Instead, listen intently, take some notes, and spend a few hours with your Bible when you get home, going over your notes.

Actually, WE don't "know" either. We "believe." And I think he also said he "believes", but cannot assume to "know" another's heart.

why would a soldier go anywhere without his or her sword? (in whatever form it may be) I never leave my home without my sword whether I am going to church or not, this battle were in is real and its for the souls that our Savior shed His precious blood for, the enemy of our souls will try to divert our minds from this battle by luring us to look at carnal and temporal things, he knows if we are fixed and engaged each of us are a formidable enemy to the kingdom of darkness, hold fast to what is true, and study to show yourself approved....

Why did they take the woman to Jesus in the first place? Must have had a reason. Why to Jesus?

I will tell you this, they sure wouldn't have brought her to Osteen. His message is a crowd pleaser. No reason to test Osteen. He's okay.

Not only that Jesus did call the scribes and Pharisees hypocrites. Matthew 23.

Osteen gave a PC answer. He was afraid to state the truth. There's no judgment involved in the discussion he had with LK. None. Osteen turned it into "Me not judge. Me can't say if Jesus is the only way to the Father."

No other person, no other teaching, no other way to the Father but through Jesus.
The only way to the Father is through Jesus.

That's the truth. Why bring up judgment? Because Osteen knows the truth-the whole truth, nothing but the truth-is unpopular. So he sidestepped the question.

I'll listen to the video one more time. Okay.

I've got that. Paid a pretty penny for it. Pure white paper. Leather. Though years old, the leather aroma still there. I can fold the cover all around to the back of the bible, meeting front and back covers, no harm, no damage to bible at all. My next bible will have 3 ribbons, calf leather, hopefully get one with a small harmless prick mark in the leather.
Yeah they are high, but worth every penny...I have had mine 15 years and it too still has the leather smell even though it is wore a bit and I am constantly super gluing pages in HAH...I looked at a new one is Australia and they were like $350 to $375...I like to wide margins for notes on word studies....

"No judgment in that conversation with LK???????"

Oh c'mon on, I know you are smarter than that. LK was not defending Jesus nor the Scriptures. He is an Atheistic snake in the grass, and his only purpose was to see if he could trick Osteen into alienating (judging) all Jews and Atheists on national TV, so that they would be driven even farther from God than they are today.

We may smugly imagine we are doing God's work when we insult and chase off people from Him, but all we are doing is walking right into Satan's snare of dividing humanity even more into "Us & Them."

Did Paul jump up and tell all those Athenians that they were going to Hell for worshiping their false idols? No, He actually began by complimenting them for being such religious people. Then he told them who one of their very own gods really was.

Don't know how long I've had mine. It was expensive when I bought it, so I didn't use it! I figure I've had it for about 10 years. Not less than that.

Mine has two red ribbon markers. I still have the box/2 parts. First slide the bible into a box that snuggly holds the bible. Then that box slides into another box. This second box is like an outer shell.

Wide margin for word studies...Yes, but I also have a NASB. Leather bound as well. But it's just a Kirkbride, so it cost much less. Point is, I am very choosy with what info I write in my KJV Cambridge. Several reasons. One being, the book itself is just pure wonderful, beautiful and outstanding quality. Never has been left out in the sun in the car. Never. The gold edging still gold. More liberal with my notes in NAS than I am with my Kingly bible.

Have you been here Cambridge - evangelicalbible.comevangelicalbible.com

They sell: Cambridge, Schuyler, and Allan bibles. Along with others. Just click on the Bibles tab.

Willie Willie Willie, you are funny. You are. You mean well, but once in a blue moon, you are wrong.

Now then, Osteen, that wolf in sheep's clothing, pulled the wool over the truth. Hid it. We wouldn't being having this discussion had Osteen spoke the truth. He did not need to soften the truth. Just say "Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life."
Nope, he brought up "me's not a judge. I can't judge." Well, so what. Repeat the truth. Confirm that salvation only through Jesus.

Okay, you've brought up what Jesus and Paul said and compared statements from the to Osteen's. The problem with that is Jesus and Paul spoke the truth and did not back away from it. Osteen? When has ever, ever be bold and straight with the truth?

A few videos will confirm what I say is accurate. Osteen and the truth, they just don't mix.
