I was also a little bit put off, (to say the least) by the imagery in this OP. Especially after just reading that Blain wrote porngraphy in high school- no wait, told stories that amused the guys!

Blain, time to go back to the Bible, learn that body of Christ is a community of believers, and the metaphor of the bride is the church!

“Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” 32 This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church." Eph. 5:31-32

Truly, this is one out I really wished I had not opened. And please do not jump on me for dissing Blain before you read the post and understand the overwhelmng sexual implications of the OP. Yech!

In Brainfreeze defense, I can see how this statement might make one question "Jesus and I have the most intimate love together" if Blain is referring to sexual relations or not.

I guess we would have to ask Blain to clarify?

Personally I typically have a G rating and did not go there, but I after rereading I do wonder what you mean by the statement Blain?

Can you clarify "intimate love"? Is it physical or more in the terms Tintin refers to?
The love I have with God is indeed intimate but I never thought someone would think it had to do with a physical intimacy.

thanks for clarifying. I didn't think you meant it that way either but I could see how it might be misunderstood.

...... I can't even believe anyone would think this, honestly that is quite offensive. Those kind of thoughts that made you misunderstand my love for Jesus is not from God my friend

AHA!!
it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure"— for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints.

With all this discussion, I looked up the word "bride" in the Hebrew and it means "complete or perfect one".

I like that.

Who the heck talks/thinks like that? Me thinks you need to hang around with different Christians. I don't want to entertain such thoughts.
You might not want to but here at CC... Anything goes, I've come to realize, and because I read post, even yours, doesn't mean we are " hanging out ", I believe they do have other " hang out " threads on CC... I'm usually learning or teaching, right here in the Bible discussion...and anybody is bound to say anything, if you haven't notice.

So we as the body of Christ will be the complete, perfect one. One body in Christ. The body that He is proud to call His own.

How funny. After you had to defend yourself. I took a look at what forum I was in. A forum where all threads seem to lead
to attacks. One person plants an ugly seed. then it spreads like cancer.
As I type this. Seems the cancer was cut off with kindness.

what?!?

I think this dress is beautiful.

Smh.... Pretty terrible, no offense Blain, guard your mind, don't see yourself in a wedding dress, God wouldn't want that for you. I don't know if you thought this up yourself or you seen someone else on CC say this, but know God loves us personally as sons and daughters, why we pray the Our Father, why He tells us to be like children, innocent...

I know this will cause a huge war but I had to write my thoughts.
Sometimes like today I am overcome by an overwhelming desire to marry Jesus. In my heart I can see me in a wedding gown and Jesus and I have the most intimate love together. today this happened out of nowhere I just say a picture of jesus and a bride and bam I was overcome with the strongest desire to marry him and was brought to tears and said to him Lord will you be mine?

But I have an issue. The only way I can marry him is if I die or am taken in the rapture. I have had many rapture dreams and some of them it just happens out of nowhere others certain things happen first. It would be so wonderful if there was even a chance Jesus would come for us tonight, but I have the hardest time believing that the rapture is even close. The evidence is right before me mainly the blood moon tetrad but still no matter how much I want to believe I can't.

The word soon is often used in referring Jesus coming for his bride but soon is such a vague word. I know that it has to be in his time and we just need to be patient and most of the time I do this but when this type of thing happens I can't help myself.

My grandmothers sister never got married and had a wedding ring because she said she gave herself completely to jesus, she never got married and focused on works of Christ her entire life

Matthew 25:1-46 - Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. (Read More...) Revelation 19:9 - And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed [are] they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
Revelation 19:14 - And the armies [which were] in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
Revelation 19:7 - Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

We need to always be remindful that he is our first love, amen

Yes, Christ is our first love. This is a great song, not a 3 hour sermon.

I don't know what aversion you have to hanging out but I thought the people who shared these understandings with you were offline, not online.

What are you talking about Tintin ... Someone right here at CC was talking about lifting veils and kissing Jesus, how am I " sharing " anything... I'm telling you it's disturbing to read this type of stuff as Blain was just talking about being in a wedding dress...

First, as I have said so many times, this is the BIBLE Discussion Forum. Another OP which is without any discussion of the Bible.

And please re-read the OP!!

Would the author have had a "huge war" about whether to write this if he had not known it would create an undesirable response?

He mentions wrong eschatology, takes a beautiful Biblical metaphor and destroys it in a self obsessed post. Then he back pedals, saying basically that he never meant it for "real" and sheesh, how could we think that?!

Perhaps because I read it after Blain's declaration in the Misc forum that he was so good at dirty stories, he could have written porn for a living! Sorry these sorts of things stick in my mind, and really came together with this explicit post!

I was very popular in high school because I can make up a story from the top of my head with ease and everyone loved me because back then I would make up the sexiest dirty and sometimes even the most disgusting sexual stories. Heck if I wanted to I could made big bucks writing porn stories if I wanted to

Seriously people, desist with this cult of personality and this pseudo-love gospel! Read what is written!

This is not scriptural, it degrades the message and text of the Bible, and the church as the Bride of Christ!
