Jeremiah 2:32 Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.
God is the bridal attire... Jesus Himself is the righteousness of saints. Which crossnote found in an earlier post:
Revelation 19:8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

Matthew 25:1-46 - Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. (Read More...) Revelation 19:9 - And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed [are] they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
Revelation 19:14 - And the armies [which were] in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
Revelation 19:7 - Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

We need to always be remindful that he is our first love, amen
Again be likened to and is are two different things.... I don't take Jesus as a thief, scripture says He comes like a thief. As for revelations that's prophecy meant for " interpretation ". Nobody is marrying Jesus, especially when Jesus Himself said we are to be as children " innocent " to enter in the kingdom of God. A young boy is not thinking about marriage to anybody.. Just saying

Jeremiah 2:32 (see quoted above) says God is the bridal attire to His people.
Galatians 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Romans 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ,

There we go... may every thing be established with the mouth of two or three witnesses. :)

It is a spiritual "bridal attire", which is Christ Himself. Even this in Romans (or Galatians, or both, I forgot now) is commonly translated in the manner such as "put on Christ like a garment" or "clothe yourselves with Christ".

So much scripture thrown around here, and so little compassion and understanding. What an ugly place to dwell in.
This place called the Bible discussion forum.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Wouldnt it be cross-dressing for a woman to wear a guy's apparel (when did women of Israel put on armor)?
Or can we finally accept that this is spiritual, not literal?

The meaning was written, no interpretations necessary ..
and I'm not spiritually putting on a dress or literally Soulweaver... As Dc said I'm with wearing a robe of white, as for dresses, that's your interpretation.

I have quoted the Scriptures here, even that God is the bridal attire of His people, while you go with opinions.
Clearly if not understood spiritually a woman wearing dude's armor would be an abomination unto the LORD, so your argument is flawed by the same standard you are trying to establish.
It is your personal perception that this is permissible and the other way round isnt permissible - but God's standard puts both man and woman into the same verse.

For me the OP is in the main a spiritual post and shows an intimacy Blain has with God. The only thing that I admit to being uneasy with is the thought of Blain in a wedding gown - now that's creepy lol. I totally understand the negative posts because I get that it can make other Christians uneasy but I do admire Blain's courage in posting it - there is a certain freedom when you have that deep a relationship with our Father - everything and everyone else is secondary to that relationship which in turn gives freedom to express what is in the heart.

With all this discussion, I looked up the word "bride" in the Hebrew and it means "complete or perfect one".

I like that.
Thank you for this clarification - now that is interesting and makes perfect sense. May I ask where you get your translations? It would be good to have such translations to hand. God bless.

The word say's in a parable that we should have on our wedding garmet when he comes.Meaning being ready
as he will come as a thief in the night and we do not know when. Lot's of parables and scriptures on this.
I think this is an awesome post as well, that we should all consider.

I understand that a me being in a wedding dress is creepy but I don't believe it was a physical one I believe it may have simply been Jesus calling me a part of his bride. I am all for correction, I even love God's discipline because I learn from it and grow closer to him. Granted I probably should have posted this in the misc section or something but I stand by my op, God speaks to me in my heart like this all the time and if I am lead to post in the forums I will.

I am not as scriptural educated as a lot of ppl and I admit that I have much to learn as Christian but I am giving it everything I've got. But the love and intimacy I have with God is my greatest strength, it is on an amazing level and that is what inspired this thread. Of course if it was a physical wedding gown I could understand the concern but had it been the other way around and I heard a person say the saw themselves in a wedding gown to marry Jesus and it was a full grown man unlike what happened here I would assume it had spiritual meaning and had to do with the intimacy that person had with him

Amen,

Rev19:8
7"Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready." 8It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. 9Then he said to me, "Write, 'Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.'" And he said to me, "These are true words of God."…

I am glad you shared this. It has ministered to me tremendously.

Galations3:28

Again, revelation is prophecy like 10 headed dragons and stuff.. Your Galatians post says we are all one with Christ. The Bible tells us that marriage is for one women and one man, do you relate the trinity as being in a dress, they are one... We are one with Christ, doesn't mean I'm married to Christ. It means He knew me before I was born, can count the hairs on my head, He's my heavenly Dad.. Is what that means ...to me, anyways

Are you called to the wedding supper of the Lamb? Is what this is about. We are to be child like in our faith. Before honor
is humility.Christ gave his life for the church, i take it very serious. God is a spirit, not everything is to be looked at carnally.
Pride comes before a fall, we are to be humble and thankful for what the Lord has done. Jesus is in a robe, long one at that.
