No, the desire/temptation does not disappear, but the more you resist satans temptations, the more he will flea away from you, because he is not patient.
true but remember, Satan is only one tempter. we have our own flesh that temps us probably more than satan does..

For those who have perfect love for Christ, the temptation is not so much to sin. It does not hold the same pleasure anymore. Now the temptation is to act from the flesh instead of from the Spirit. If one does not keep watch, it is easy to fall back into this and it will lead one to sin.
