.................... Those that don't understand speaking in tongues always call it babbling not understanding that when one speaks in a tongue he speaks not unto men but unto God.....................
Or it could be that "those who don't understand speaking in tongues" has heard nothing but babbling from people that have no clue what being saved is and only want attention. They don't know what scripture is when addressing tongues and don't know that if an interpreter isn't present they should be silent. Why? Because they are babbling. I have seen this garbage for years and I have yet to see it done in a scriptural manner. What does that say about it? It isn't from God.

And of course you do know it all right...........? And what does your statement mean exactly?.....Paul expected the Corinthian Assembly to be mature after 3-4 years......cannot one learn a lot of truth in nine years? How many men do we all know that study 50 years and don't know jack or his brother crap on the flip side of the coin......just saying that is.....! One year, ten years or fifty years...God is the one who reveals truth and a rock can have more intelligence and understanding than a man that lives to 969 years if God so chooses to reveal it....Even the very rocks will cry out if the people were to hold their tongues!

Not something I have ever professed to...period!

However, I don't like arrogant replys to posts, and neither would YOU if you thought about it!

Why do you concern yourself with something that is nothing to do with you or are you just whipping up a storm in a tea cup, I would also have thought (in your case) that refraining from involving yourself in something that is nothing to do with you was the mature thing to do?

I want to also say and point out a few things.....

1. The word tongues simply means languages
2. On the (50th) day when Peter and others spoke they spoke in their OWN LANGUAGE....they did not babble
3. The nations represented HEARD in their OWN LANGUAGE
4. NO WHERE did SOMEONE go on some BABBLING rigmarole in the bible.
5. The only church to have an ISSUE with tongues was SPIRITUALLY IMMATURE, HAD some 15-16 SINFUL practices

The words done away, cease and fail are totally overlooked and rejected within the context of chapter 13, 1st Corinthians.....

It can just as easily be said...Why do people who believe in it reject the obvious truths as applied unto it..........?
I see more trying to disprove it than prove it. It also seems those that do not believe in tongues do not believe in modern day miracles either.

Those words are only done away with if you interpret the perfect that is come as the modern day Bible. Seeing as the modern day Bible did not come until after Paul, could it be Paul was talking about the Bible or Jesus?

Do you believe the holy spirit has a dual work in men, within and upon or just within?

The word perfect = complete.......so when that which is complete is come...that which is in part shall be done away with......so how do we take that?

Why is that those that do not believe in tongues are the only experts on them?

why is it that only people believes in tongues are the only experts.. seems like it goes both ways.

it is not that people do not believe in it, It is just they do not believe in it the way it is practiced today.

People did not come to church to speak in tongues and heal. The church went to the world. and as God needed, they spoke in tongues and people were healed.

Has everything in the Bible been perfect=complete yet?

No but the bible itself is.

so why do we need tongues? Is Gods word, which is complete. not enough? Don't you think if God thought we needed to know more, he would have continued to write his own book to the world?
