Just how bold is it to claim to be like the Most High God? Never underestimate the devil. Leave the contending with the devil to the Lord. For the cause of Christ Roger
In my bible we are told to contend as in Ephesians 6:12 We are not fighting against humans. We are fighting against forces and authorities and against rulers of darkness and powers in the spiritual world. So put on all the armour that God gives. Then when that evil day comes, you will be able to defend yourself. And when the battle is over, you will still be standing firm.

Sounds like we are called to go into bat against the devil as we don't need to defend ourselves if we are not being attacked, and if we do with the whole armour of God we will be the winners.

My point was that in the absence of miracles, a person relies solely on faith. By faith Noah built the ark, Abraham offered Issac, etc. A miracle is proof of a supernatural occurrence, you don't need faith in the presence of physical evidence. Faith is the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). When something is proven, there's no necessity for faith. So my point was that our faith is not tested by seeing, but by believing the word of God. If a person prays for a healing that never comes, but yet continues to believe, that's faith.

I mention this only because many people get disheartened when they're constantly told that they can receive a healing if they only have faith. But that's not necessarily true. Nothing wrong with praying for help, but as with the apostle Paul, the answer is often "No". As you implied, if every Christian who ever asked for a healing received it, no one would ever die.
Both points are beautifully expressed. Perhaps, it is not just about faith, for Jesus says clearly in the Bible that we can do greater things than He did, and he certainly performed many miracles. Maybe the question is whether or not a miracle is necessary in a particular instance in order to GLORIFY GOD. It's about God and His glory, not ours.

John 14;12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Yes. Let us be a part of the greatest miracle mankind has ever known!

The receiving of Israel, and the resurrection of dead.

One day, driving my mail truck in the Rockies, going through Nederland, I saw a lad hitching a ride in my direction up ahead. I thought I should give the lad a ride since I was going all the way to Golden with some stops and turn backs on the way. The car ahead of me stopped and picked him up.

I continued on my way, and just before arriving at my hairpin turn off down to Pine Cliff the Holy Spirit came on me telling me to stop at the turnoff because the person I was set to pick up was going to be let off at this turn off. Sure enough the car passed me and let the person off in front of me.

The person saw me, and it turns out it was a young lady. I motioned from behind the steering wheel for her to come to my truck. She was somewhat bewildered with her hand indicating herself as she shook her head no but walked to the truck and got in.

The Holy Spirit had directed her and continued on both of us, and I opened my mouth and said, "You are going to Beaver Road aren't you?" She nodded yes. It was just a short distance down the mountain road to the turn onto Beaver Road. I said, "You have a Bible don't you?" She nodded her head, yes. Approaching the turn I said, "Read the Book of Revelation." Again she nodded, yes. I was already stopped at this point, and I said, you may go now.

Both of us were under the power of God's Spirit. I did not decide to do any of this, neither did she. To this day I have no idea what came of her, but I know it was God running everything so I know she is just fine, and I know I am too.

I would say no, we do not have the power to do miracles.

Maybe God can do miracles through us but how can we know unless someone sees it actually occur.

If someone could demonstrate Gods power, they would make history and win a million bucks!

That kind of miracle would not glorify God, so I don't think you would have much luck in using the power of the Holy Ghost for the petty riches of the world.

With all due thought, I must second your pronouncement on this. Does the pot question the Potter? I do not think so, and to even hint this is possible shows a total lack of giving all glory to Yahweh. He is in control. Believe it or don't, but do not put God to the test..........This a a very bad thing to do.

Each piece is put on with prayer. We do not go about spoiling for a battle that we are hopelessly outmatched against the foe. The battle is won on our knees before the Lord. We humble ourselves for in our weakness His strength is perfected. The battle is already won for Christ has risen from the grave and ascended on high.

When I think of all the saints who surrendered their very lives for Christ I see that though it appears that the lost they really achieved a great victory for the Lord. The death of His saints are precious in the sight of the Lord. Destroy the body but you can do no more. Fear God Who is able to destroy the body and the soul in eternal condemnation.

When Elijah was to be taken up into Heaven Elisha begged him to leave for himself the Spirit which was on Elijah. He knew, as do all who understand the source of the works of Yahweh that although prophets and others were use as instruments or servants of the Most High God, it is always the Holy Spirit acting through them, always. No flesh is capable of conjuring up a miracle.

But God did the miracles, not Elijah or Elisha.

I would argue there are some pieces of the armor that should never come off.

This is NOT what Jesus told us....Why do you constantly give credit to the enemy...he is NOTHING to us because of the power of Jesus and the Holy Ghost in us.

This is not personal roger, the Bible says you have been given the same power and authority as Jesus had and you sit here and wax woe and poe and it is not at all what Jesus told YOU....

TO be clear it is not us, it is the same Spirit that raised Christ of the dead working in us and through us. I cannot do anything on my own against the devil, but with the power of the Holy Ghost I can and do defeat his attacks....

We are not hopeless against the enemy, God has given us his word, his armor, and the fruit of the Spirit, where are really more weapons of our warfare.

If the devil hits you with chaos, hit him back with the peace that passes understanding, if the devil causes you depression, the Joy of the Lord is your strength, if the devil hits you thoughts you are helpless under his power, remind him that greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world and that you are more than a conqueror in Christ, when the devil hit you with anger hit him back with gentleness and goodness, when the devil says all hope is gone and you have no escape from the trials and tribulations of life, remind him that God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. When the devil reminds you of your past, remind him of his future!

DO you udnerstand what we are saying yet? Jesus beat the devil in the wilderness not just because he was the son of God, he beat the devil, because he was anointed with power and the Holy Ghost and spoke to the devil directly and using the word of God...use your sword roger and quit sitting in the mediocrity of dry milk theology and set yourself free.

Jesus was not a push over and some pious door mat...Jesus was all powerful and showed us that we can to, through HIM!

Absolutely! John 10:34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

Think about that. Jesus told those who accused him of blasphemy . . . "I said, YE ARE GODS" That my friends is the power of the Holy Spirit in us. He couldn't have said it more directly than that.

Psa 82:1
A Psalm of Asaph. God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.

Psa 82:2
How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.

Psa 82:3
Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.

Psa 82:4
Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.

Psa 82:5
They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.

Psa 82:6
I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

Psa 82:7
But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.

Psa 82:8
Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.
