Im certainy glad i wasn't your child at Christmas time.
But what if instead of physical gifts the family learned about the Savior and what He taught and even put some of it in action. I think that would be way more benefical to a humans development that a few christams gifts... Also that does not stop a parent from buying their child something they will enjoy, but I would rather do it in a way that tells them I love them and not santa jumped down thew chimney with some elves.

Or just glad you were not a Puritan, or living under Oliver Cronwells rule, the chief Puritan who banned anything that was fun and Christmas was definitely wiped off the calendar.

In ancient Israyl the Israylites worship Yahweh in ways He did not tell them to. They worshiped Yahweh in ways that were invented for "gods" or "idols", thus, "You must not worship Yahweh your Father in their way

The things that are historically recorded are done so for our learning;"

Romans 15:4, "For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope."

Deuteronomy 12:29-32, “When Yahweh your Father cuts off the nations from in front of you, and you displace them and live in their land, Be careful not to be ensnared into following them by asking about their gods, saying: How did these nations serve their gods? I also will do the same. You must not worship Yahweh your Father in their way, for every abomination to Yahweh, which He hates, they have done to their gods. They even burn their sons and daughters in the fire as sacrifices to their gods. Whatsoever I command you, be careful to observe and do it, you shall not add to it, nor take away from it."

And there is connection, sitting on "santa's" lap tradition

came from this ("burn their sons and daughters in the fire")

The statue was glowing red-hot... Thats why he wears red and his name is satan, or santa

Proverbs 22:6, "Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it."

Colossians 2:8, "Beware that no one leads you away like a prize because of philosophy or empty, false statements, according to the traditions of men, after the elements of the world, and not after the Messiah!"
Was it the messiah the ONE who received gifts, that day?

But this tradition taught me I WAS the one to receive gifts from my parents (until the day I saw those tricks). My friends told me: Pretend you saw nothing! Act as if you knew nothing... Otherwise, they will not give you more presents..."

Should I LIE to receive a good x-mas present?

Was I asked to lie for "a reason"?

But, beside all these things too culturally cherished: Am I any better Christian or Jesus follower? Surely not!

I´m a sinner. I will keep my faith just for me.

I do not celebrate christmas. I feel that, if God had meant for humans to celebrate the birth of Christ, He would have given us more precise information regarding the event and how is was to be observed.
To my understanding, the official day is Dec 25. You bake the cookies before to leave for Santa when he comes down the chimney Christmas eve. That is how it works.

And there are none against it...
I wonder how these people deal with Thursdays.. Or the month of March?

Do they dismiss these days and months cos of Thor and Mars? The calendars in their house must be a mess.

Maybe we should think less about what it means to us, and more about what it means to Him?
Perhaps Santa should be given a pink slip and those pesky little elves too. Cut all the reindeer loose to fend for themselves. Seriously, I don't think that Jesus cares squat about whether Christmas is celebrated or not. What is wrong with spending time with family and friends once a year and exchange a couple of gifts that were previously placed underneath the tree? Or enjoy an adult beverage of two while you are making merry. I don't drink anymore but I do understand the concept and can relate to it.
Not trying to be rude but this is exactly what im saying.

The Savior gave it to the pharisees over their man made traditions;

Mattithyah 15:2-3, "Why do Your disciples transgress the traditions of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat. But He answered, and said to them: And why do you transgress the Laws of Yahweh by your traditions?"

Different scenario, but same basic principle.

Colossians 2:8, "Beware that no one leads you away like a prize because of philosophy or empty, false statements, according to the traditions of men, after the elements of the world, and not after the Messiah!"

and lets be honets, the day is supposed for Jesus, but it stands for everything He stands against. Hollow tradition, materialism, pagan roots, and it supports lies (lying to childern)

The "christmas tree" represents

"the tree of knowledge of righteousness and evil"

The "Christmas ornaments" represent the FORBIDDEN FRUIT

The garland represents the serpent

AND the garland is wrapped around the tree;

to represent the serpent's deception concerning the tree;

None of those pagan days/months are even in line with Yahweh Calendar. The calender of the Creator of the universe starts and ends around "April 1st" which is originally called the 1st month. (they did get named while in babylon) So personally I have no care for the gregorian calendar we commonly use, I do have a worldly calendar but I also have a calendar that goes by the Creator's reckoning. It His universe!

I'm fed up with these hypocrites, who make all this minded material world seems it is a holy celebration every december... when it is most of time to eat good food and drink, and give present and hugs to people you don't even see much... and few to prayers, or thoughts about Jesus. If it's the right date or not, I haven't seen anyone celebrating the birth of Jesus in the Bible, nor explaining how to do it. There are more verses indicating not to do it, than the opposite.
Sincerely, I'm feeling a lot the urgency, of we're living the last hour, this whole fake party seen makes me sick. I'm not caring very much with people who is not christian opinions, even from my relatives, they don't care also about my opinions when I say about the Lord to them...

It there is history and in the mystery religions, just have to dig.

IDOLS UNDER EVERY GREEN TREE.gif

The Encyclopedia Britannica, Volume II (1943-1973),
Christmas;
‘‘In the Roman world, the
Saturnalia was a time of merrymaking and exchanging of gifts. December 25th was also regarded as the birth date of the Iranian Mystery god, Mithra, the Sun of Righteousness. On the Roman New Year houses were decorated with greenery and lights and gifts were given to children. To these observances were added the German and Celtic Yule rites...Food and good fellowship, the Yule log and Yule cakes, greenery and fir trees, gifts and greetings all commemorated different aspects of this festive season. Fires and lights, symbols of warmth and lasting life have always been associated with the winter festival, both pagan and Christian.’’
