Dressing smart for God, Shows a respect for Him. Those same scruffy dressers will dress smart when the go to a worldly meeting or meet someone important, But you watch them when it comes to Church, Their attitude is,
[Oh, It's only God].
I dress the same wherever I go. Shorts, t-shirts, sweats. Very comfy

Who shall we skewer today....??? let's see..., how bout Fred from Hillsdale?!! He went up front in church today and he has an odd idea about how he got healed., maybe he would be a good subject for a good roasting debate amongst us today !? ...

OORRR maybe Heidi from German town!?? she says she believes in the tongues gift for today and seems to be very outspoken about it., we all know she has had problems with her marriage in the past., maybe she is just looking for attention? She might be a good roasting candidate also? humm.., let me see....

OH OH.,., wait., there is that new guy who no one knows who just moved in from California and he IS totally odd. We could all put our notes together about him and what each of us have either heard about him or observed from seeing him attend church on Sunday., and then we could see what we come up with and if he should be roasted tonight?

Oh my my my., there are soooooo many many ways of skewering., roasting., broiling, boiling and baking another brother or sister in Christ., there is just no ONE way to adequately do the deed justice!!!!!!

Soooooooo many people and sooooooooo much time!!

Doggit! someone rep this woman cause I already did not long ago

skewer today...I kinda got myself skewered yesterday

apparently, I taste great with a little tongue lashing and false judgement and for the cherry on top, two people agreeing that I'm just a big ole blue meany

ok well, they did not call me a big old blue meany, but the religious speak was there sure 'nuff

I love it Lynn. I seriously love it!!!

This is such nonsensical foolishness. Do you go get "dressed up" before you pray to God in your home? No, you are dressing to impress other men about how holy you are when you go to the "sacred" building.

I take it you are one of the scruffy dressers who has no respect for God.
People dress smart to honour and respect God, Not to impress people.

Oft times it is not even something they recognize. But, I can't help it. I never got all this "divine discernment" so many of our Forum Prophets boast of having shimmering around them like a halo. All I ever got was just plain ol' ordinary Common Sense.

Then how disrespectful of you not to dress up before you assume the audacity to pray to Him in your house in ordinary clothes... or worse yet, in pajamas, or even naked in the shower.

Amen and it is this kind of "religious nonsense" that people in the world reject. They are not rejecting Christ - they are rejecting what some people "represent" as Christ and try to make others do the same as they do. It's Pharisee-ism at it's finest.

seek God's approval in all things, even those that may seem so innocent,
and after a while, we won't even remember when our self-obsessions and vanities
began to fade and disappear...

so we started with skewering Mr Prince, progressed to lambasting the op and are now right on schedule with private swordfights within the thread and finally, the shining moment when we rip each others clothes off

LMHO...seriously..hope it doesn't roll too far

Well, I wondered. I'm pretty sure we can no longer say, "I'm hungry." because, as I understand it, Michelle already said that herself once.

in that case, I'm famished and I shall now prepare food, in the kitchen, so that I may consume it and thereby quell the noises issuing from the nether regions of my torso

gag...I'm going too far

I know what you are referring to, and honestly, just fire the news media

the news changed, some time ago, from reporting to analyzing and it's a race to see who can make up something the fastest

like some beliefs around here....

Hope Ben doesn't mind me copying and pasting his post. I wish I had the skills to highlight certain areas of it, but he makes such an aewsome point in that if we are going to battle over something it should be THE Gospel. That Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, came to earth as a man, suffered, was crucified, died, was buried, and rose to life on the 3rd day, all according to the Scriptures. If someone is preaching a different Gospel than that we need to forcefully defend. Otherwise most of these other BDF stuff is interpretations that some claim to have the ONLY true knowledge of. If you are writing a post, and it is not filled with love, even if you disagree wioth a brother or sister, you need to think twice before posting.

*** I'm sorry but I took anyone's name out of his post.***

I can assure you, the Lord didn't reveal that to you (that he preaches a false gospel). preaches the truth on God's grace and its sufficiency. He may, indeed, preach another gospel than the one you believe as far as repentance goes and how one has victory over sin, but you believe in the same Jesus Christ. You both believe in Jesus' death and resurrection and that we are saved by grace through faith. The process of sanctification, however, may be where there is a difference in methodology. Know this though, sanctification isn't what saves us. VVe are justified by faith. :)
