It is obvious some do not like the idea the Holy Spirit teaches us about Christ.

Why is that? Have they not been taught things in scripture by the Lord or is it really just head knowledge with prayer for miracles and healing on the side?

I used to think they really had something, but now I see it is a religious juganaut out of control hurtling down the road ripping up everything in its way or that is held dear. I am sure come persecution nothing will be seen of these believers.

And as you say, even you once thought they had something, so you can understand them and have compassion on them because you once WERE them.

I do not know them, and from their fruit, I was never one of them. I do know of the group and their emotional loyalties, but it has never been mine. I was always on the fringe, praising the Lord, and learning, but wondering at the depth of failure that was present.

Back in the 1970's I remember one meeting I went to. It was like entering heaven, hearing the group singing in the spirit.

What was disappointing is though this outpouring was great and people really touched, how it has worked out seems to have been a touch of God in their lives, but they did not know how to translate this into maturity.

What matters is the walk, not how much is shown in gifts along the way. The gifts are tools to help the church walk, not the end in itself. As humans we always confuse emotional euphoria with arrival, where in the Lord it is communion, not deliverance.

I was talking about where you said, "I once thought they really had something." But then you realized it was all just an out of control juggernaut. So you, then, can understand them.:)

I wonder too at the depth of failure that is present. We won't push through that by going over the same ground over and over but by finding where our fathers went wrong, by finding where the harmful leaven is.

Half quoting something does not make your point. There is only one reason why we fail, and it is not ones conscience, it is lack of communion with the Lord.

I think what you are suggesting is you can ignore ones conscience, even though Paul is saying you should listen to your conscience.

It is not a powerful argument to say I am lying, it shows how you are living, not listening to your conscience. It sounds like you have sold out, and though convicted of sin by your own conscience you are searing it, just like the pharisees.
It destroys you inside.
what you think and what jesus thinks are two different points. you cant prove the scripture, you quote. yet have 30 year of keeping people under a yolk.because of history, the world is still turning. not your words of wisdom you cant prove the bible quotes you quote. you can only feed from the past. this is the problem.
for example .
why would the rich, want to save the planet. if there was no profit involved.

yet you need air . buts try to control by saying ,you need food to be alive. yet you need a god, to prove the black hole. sorry that would be a telescope. unbeliever trying to over run a believer. come back when you can save your own land. (the land you made) not the bull sxxt. you can t control .

from day one, if you cant understand saved by saved by a saviour. then you will never understand the human point the bible makes. ie take your guns and bombs, in to the truth, its wrong to kill, yet ok to drop bombs. now bring your law to the table human. etc
