Ahh here is a good one from Jesus. So naybe it was directed to all but churches of today dont want hurt no ones feelings. When maybe just as Paul letter to 1 Corinthians he didnt want to hurt their feelings but he sent the letter anyways in hopes they will correct their behaviour
I wouldn't know. When I could go to church, we stuck with churches that were taught well and then practiced what we were taught.

What I liked most is what did happen to "Gentile and tax collectors." They are treated like everyone we meet who aren't part of the Church. They are loved and given the gospel. Excommunication doesn't mean kicked out forever. It means start from the beginning -- as a nonbeliever.

Brother Ben, I am truly concerned about you. Are you alright?
Don't mean to bring a buzz kill or anything but it seems every time you post it's about sin.
Now I don't know what you do when your not posting but ...let me just say it does worry me a bit.
Now I do appreciate your input and the scripture proof you provide but...never mind it might be me. ;)
Thank you for your concern, it was all spurred on by a question asked of my pastor and his response a few weeks ago. The question was of the amount of time a Christian can go on without sinning, whether it be an hour, a day, a week, or a month. It was a question of possibility. Could it be done? So that's why a couple of my recent threads have been about sin.

I start speaking about sin and people start getting nervous like, "Oh no, Ben has gone to the dark side, preaching sinless perfectionism and hounding people for their sins." haha No, I am simply pondering the correlation between our new nature, being set free from sin's dominion under grace, and our actual experiential walk (such as going periods of time without sinning).

Your discernment is fairly accurate though, sometimes we do things we shouldn't and in my experience the Lord says that I know better. Meaning that I can do better. If you feel like praying for me, pray that I do better, that I do that which I know He has equipped me to do. Both in righteousness, and in good works. I know, in part, the future God has ordained for me, and I believe it will come to pass. So where I fall short now, I know one day that He will so sanctify me to the person He has created me to be, and unto that end I have hope.

Well it's been my experience of sin that sin (spot or blemish) left untreated spreads.
And as John spoke very clearly "when we sin" know we have a advocate. And just like our first parents we tend to hid from the truth. The holy spirit convicts us, what we do with that conviction will determine our walk with Christ. And as John points out go to Christ and ask to be washed.
Jesus said if you don't let me wash you you have no part of me.
When some sin they feel that they are less worthy to please God. They failed. Condemnation starts (spot or blemish) spreads. Satan closes in and you find yourself being recluse, your joy is robbed. This should not be.

Example in simple form.

We all have gone to restaurants and ordered From the waiter. Now what if that waiter had a less than acceptable appearance in the hygiene area. With the waiter knowing this he or she makes her self scarce. Now the service is compromised due to the neglect of the waiter. Which reflects on the establishment, which makes the meal served less appealing.

Same scenario only the waiter is clean, more hospitable, friendly, smiling, reflecting the establishment with a positive vibe. The food is great. Thumbs up.

Chef God is always preparing the meal. We are just called to serve it. The meal is always the best of the best.
We are all capable of serving tables in one form or another God enables us. We need to present ourselves clean as we are working for the kingdom.
Christ has made it so we can present ourselves clean take advantage don't let sin spread.

Sin has been dealt with. The blood of Christ washes us. Never be afraid to bath in that pool of forgiveness. Don't let Satan rob you of the joy in serving the Lord.
