Once there are robots to do all the work, we won't need money any more.
This is NOW! Now, atleast 95% of all work can be done by MACHINES!

Houses can be made now in less than an hour! We only hold on to the old patterns for profit!

Yes, I saw that the "LOVE" part was already established, but my point was if all your money was taken away, could you still trust God for your daily bread, and would you BE CONTENT with whatever you have? I know Christians who could never survive in a life of poverty or if everything was taken away from them. So therefore, that tells me that their heart is set on the money, thus the love of money. I was not correcting about the word LOVE, rather dwelling on the meaning of loving money. Hope this clears things up for you.
How can you be content now when you have nothing at the end of the day? That is vanity. I cannot be content working to feed my face, knowing that more than 19,000 kids die every day from simple preventable causes? Should they be content?

We as a people are greedy. We have enough, please just research for yourself!
I don't believe none of us can even count to a trillion let alone 16 trillion! This number is ASTRONOMICAL! And what makes it worst is it's only in our imaginations!

Are we in the image of God, or the money we work for?

You can be content with what YOU have. None of us can save the world or all the dying hungry people. But this thread is about the love of money. You are not getting my point. You should be content with the things that YOU have. The food you have, the house, the clothes. Not want to get more & more through greed. You are probably talking about feeling sorry for the people who are worse off than you, and that is good, as you can pray for them. But my point is not wanting more &more & more for yourself. Apostle Paul said that in whatsoever state he was in.... He LEARNED to be content. Paul had a lot of sorrow for the dying world as well, and sorrow for souls that were being lost. That comes into another category, not money. I guess you are not understanding the point I am trying to make, or the point of this thread.

I understand your point. I am right there with you in understanding to be content in all things. Going through my own little troubles and am making it through it. Not easy, but I am not letting go of God, I do not know how God will see me through, but I know God will. Surgery last year, pretty much all of a sudden, 3 weeks Hospital, and have been disabled ever since. Looking forward to getting back to work, whenever that does come possible.
The clincher was I was in between Jobs on my way to the new Job and on the way this happened and of coarse lost the Job.
Anyway, I have always trusted God in all. Whether I have or do not have money is not the issue. God and life is the issue, and if I were to die as Paul said to die is gain.
Job, the Book of, never cursed God, and believed in the redeemer, which turns out to be Christ. That is what I hold onto, while my body lashes and screams to be 100% well. And I am at least all is well with my soul

Can SOMEONE here give me one legitimate reason as to why?

I know I am just rehashing what has pretty much been said, but it is "The love of money is the root of much evil," and notice, too, it does not say "all evil." I suppose money is like anything else; overindulgence, greed, apathy and pride all lead to destructive, evil behaviors. Money itself is not intrinsically good or bad, I think it is relative to what value an individual places on it. Remember there are many charities who help feed, clothe, provide medical and school services to those who are in the most need, and these charities operate off of donated money in most cases. Just something to consider.

Charities help no one in the long run. They're just for show based upon the existing system, guided by it's rules. All of these are based on some type of gain for someone. We have enough to give it away.

TO HOMWARDBOUND: I do not know how to copy and paste on here what the person wrote, so I cannot quote things on here. If anyone can tell me how to put another person's quote or comment on here, I would appreciate that. However, I am answering homwardbound and your comment. My husband was a self employed contractor for Gas Fitting and Mechanical Engineer Fitting. He had 2 contracts to start work with 2 companies, one for gas fitting, and the other for mechanical fitting. These contracts were to start on a Monday for both jobs. He would make approximately $50,000 per year on each contract, and had PLENTY of work. Well the Saturday before he was to start these jobs, he was cleaning his home work station, where men with pie vans and gas bottles would come to get them refilled or serviced. My husband was cleaning his work station. He went on top of a ladder to clean the gutters, as you cannot keep any rubbish around the area when you have gas bottles. Well, to make a long story short, he fell off the ladder and broke his fibia and tibia bones, his ankle was hanging off his leg, he was bleeding terribly. The ambulance came and they didn't even know what to do with him, but took him to the local hospital immediately. He went into surgery to clean out the dirt, and then the next day they transferred him to another hospital. Well, he was in a titanium fixture for almost 7 months, then a cast for 5 months, plus 5 surgeries on his leg, and thank God he did not lose his leg, as in 3 surgeries the surgeon told us he was not sure he could save the leg. The bottom line is, my husband was to be out of work for ONE YEAR. He lost BOTH contracts. When one year came, 5 operations later, the tribunal at his insurance decided with the help of many Orthopaedic Specialist, that he was unfit for work. He would never climb a ladder again. He could never go up in the areas for the gas pipes. He could not stand on his leg to work at the machines. He went on a disability pension right away. I was working part time at that time, and we still had to pay the house payment, on top of all other bills. The pension is not a lot of money, and any money I made over a limit, they took off his pension anyway. We had to pay the insurance on the mortgage and the house payments for 15 months before they paid out our mortgage loan. We lived on bread and butter, literally. I had 3 children. I had $60 for food for the week. This was the year 2002. After awhile, we sorted out how much money I could make without interfering with his pension, and I had to increase my hours to work. Because I had 3 children, I was able to work full time. I worked full time for 7 years. My health failed drastically as I have many problems, and I too had to give up work and go on a disability pension. The bottom line is that we had literally NO money for anything. The bills were always extended, we had bread and butter, or bread and peanut butter for 15 months. We never went out for a cup of coffee, nothing. My husband went into a deep depression, as he was only 48 years old and lost his job, lost his qualifications and schooling, lost everything. I not only had to work full time, keep up the family, keep the house, pay the bills, but also lift the spirits of my husband to tell him that "somehow" we would make it. It is very depressing when you can't even afford to buy food. HOWEVER, in all that time, I was CONTENT with what God gave me and never complained nor cursed God. God provided that "somehow", we at least had "something" to eat every day, and after a very hard and long 15 months, we at least had the house paid off. Now we both live on pension, which is not easy. We have days where we just eat Maggi noodles all day, nothing more. So, yes, be content. I look around and think that there will ALWAYS be people worse off than I am, and be thankful to God for what you have.

I understand what you have been through, and I am touched by your story. In some ways financially, I am along the same lines of struggling to balance what I have, as to what I need and want.
For whatever the reason or circumstance, I never made $50,000 even at the height of all I made for a job in a year. However believe me, I am content. I ALWAYS understood that it was NEVER the money that took care of me.

But I say this is not a time to be content. What I want is no less than your husband HEALED, MIND BODY AND SOUL. What I scream to the top of my lungs day in and day out, IS THE JUBILEE OF THE LORD!

Leviticus 25:8-24

[SUP]8 [/SUP]And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]A jubile shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of thy vine undressed.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]For it is the jubile; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]In the year of this jubile ye shall return every man unto his possession.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]And if thou sell ought unto thy neighbour, or buyest ought of thy neighbour's hand, ye shall not oppress one another:
[SUP]15 [/SUP]According to the number of years after the jubile thou shalt buy of thy neighbour, and according unto the number of years of the fruits he shall sell unto thee:
[SUP]16 [/SUP]According to the multitude of years thou shalt increase the price thereof, and according to the fewness of years thou shalt diminish the price of it: for according to the number of the years of the fruits doth he sell unto thee.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]Ye shall not therefore oppress one another; but thou shalt fear thy God:for I am the Lord your God.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]Wherefore ye shall do my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; and ye shall dwell in the land in safety.
[SUP]19 [/SUP]And the land shall yield her fruit, and ye shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety.
[SUP]20 [/SUP]And if ye shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase:
[SUP]21 [/SUP]Then I will command my blessing upon you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for three years.
[SUP]22 [/SUP]And ye shall sow the eighth year, and eat yet of old fruit until the ninth year; until her fruits come in ye shall eat of the old store.
[SUP]23 [/SUP]The land shall not be sold for ever: for the land is mine, for ye are strangers and sojourners with me.
[SUP]24 [/SUP]And in all the land of your possession ye shall grant a redemption for the land.

See, this is not about being content. Please look around you. So many different beliefs and faiths and gods. But NEVER at anytime in our recorded history that regardless of what a person "believes", he CANNOT deny that we have enough resources, housing, food, clothing, and necessities to make life pleasurable for ALL!

The only thing that holds us back is the limited thinking of the people. We are concerned only with what is put on television, but the truth is we've been at war for years now!

The people have built their case against the strong man! We but have to conquer our own minds in believing that money takes care of us, that we may now enter his house and spoil his goods!

For the same reason most of the divorces and issues in the world are due to immorality, yet sex in and of itself is not wrong (yes, I know there's more than one kind of immorality besides sex). People's misuse of something does not automatically make something damnable.

These issues will not even come up without money. There won't be those who are in situations because of financial situations. Men and women will not be manipulated into doing things they would not do if not to feed themselves.

In other words, men and women will be together because they love each other again and nothing more.

I understand that if there was no corruption in money, then if you work hard, you get what you deserve. But we both know that not to be the case. Most of the world will NEVER have an opportunity no matter how much they will to try to even make minimum wage, and that's the reality of what I am talking about.

Most people are under the delusion that the world will stop functioning without money to drive it. That is a lie by the devil. Have faith in EACH OTHER! And let technology work for us to our benefit!

lol, once upon a time i was pointing out about the fact that the brand new debit cards had a pin number that only the user has wisdom of and it is memorized in our foreheads(this was before the big deal with r.f.i.d. stuff),,,,well i went from place to place warning everyone i saw about the "pin number in your forehead",,,,but with not very much success.

then one day while speaking with someone about the very subject and that no one wanted to hear it,i was stopped mid stream in my speech and was ask a few questions,,,he said "iamsoandso,do you have a bank account?,i said "no",,,he ask me do you own your home?,,,i said yes. he ask me about credit cards,i said i don't use them.

then he told me this,he said "thats fine and dandy iamsoandso, from your point of view, you dont have many things to change" then he told me i have spent many of the years preaching to the members of my church that god wants them to have a good job,a nice house,a new car. he said Ive told them it was OK to use credit cards, and debit cards and to use usury from the banks,,,and now your asking me to stand in front of them and say that it was wrong the whole time and admit to them i was the one who led them astray.

he went on to tell me that their was no wonder i was rarely ever invited back to preach at many churches,he said iamsoandso you are not only preaching about the mark you are asking for me to loose my job and not only that but if you are correct you are telling me to my face i am a false prophet. he said its not just a matter of "well ok we figured it out, lets not do it,your calling me out in the street at noon",,,,

so you can see the pickle i was in,,,i realized "oh im preaching to the choir",,,,that is it made me realize no matter how you look at it as soon as any one person realizes what the mark actually is,,,,there will be a large group of people saying,,,,"well, well hold up,when i said this, this is what i really meant, you surly understand that this is what i meant don't you?",,,,,,,,,

There are only two things in the world that backs the dollar. That is oil, and the military! Do you understand that all oil is sold internationally by law ONLY WITH THE DOLLAR? Why do you think our children are really fighting for?

To SpiritofFire: What you want is nice, but that is not really life. We pray every day that God gives us our daily bread. I never made $50,000 in a year either, and this job my husband was to get was the first time we ever had money like that. Well, it was not God's will for some reason. He lost it all. And we have to pray for Grace to accept God's will in our life, even if it doesn't go the way we want. Thanks for your kind words.

Interesting thought. An inanimate object being the cause of a woman's dissatisfaction with her husband, and a man's lack of satisfaction with his wife based on money when in the world people waste money every day. Happiness is a choice and is found easily when one is lacking financially. Yes, most often happiness is nurtured by communication with other people. Gross Marginal Utility still applies to relationships, though.

Lol, and before I'm "corrected" about "the love of money" being the root and not money itself, remember God is LOVE. We cannot take love away no matter how it's expressed. We surely can't get rid of people, but do we have the mentality to do away with money?
I concur. The L-O-V-E of money springs from a selfish heart. It is wicked to desire to be rich.

Does everyone remember when Yeshua told His disciple to pay the tax man so as not to offend him? So, where is the question going? Not anywhere.

I feel like greed is the source of every problem in America today.
Yes it was built for freedom, biblical, yet prosperity took over and it was for prosperity, and freedom in many ways has been put on the back burner.
There are enough rich to stop the poor, yet Christ did say we will always have the poor among us.
And truthfully, it is free choice of all the rich, if they got together and decided to do what the early gathering started to do. the poor would have been relieved.
Acts 5 and even Peter said why did you hold back, this money, land was all yours, you could have been honest and said I am giving this much and holding back this much, for it was theirs to do as they saw fit
A big problem today in all the lies behind all the giving
