I would like to thank everyone (you know who you are) from the thread last night
(you know which one) who engaged in the conversation, or even just appreciated
it without necessarily participating at first, that opened a space for me to tell
some of my story. I love to testify of the love of God and how He was long
suffering in my life, while He patiently waited for me to get to the end of
myself, as I ran from Him and religion. Thank you very much!
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases.
His mercies never come to an end.
They are new every morning, new every morning.
Great is your faithfulness Lord.
Great is your faithfulness.

But if these things are in you and are increasing, you will not be unfruitful.

I like this forum I think its nice. Ive met a bunch of nice people, met a few non-nice people.
But majority of people are nice.
I feel like the doctrine debates get out of hand only when people take it too seriously, instead of just laughing it off, CHILLAX as they say.

Well.......not that this excuses anything, but did not Jesus, Paul and other men of the bible rake "hairy tics" over the coals.....no one ever wants to admit error...it is a humbling experience to state publically....Hey, I am wrong and you are right.....and without a doubt the following statement will catch heat....

THERE is only ONE truth concerning anything and everything to be found in the bible....and when we are honest with the truth we will all come to the same conclusions concerning the truth......

A hard pill to swallow for sure....

Having said that....the truth must be defended....maybe more tact and to be honest..at times it seems best to just quote verses without commentary......let the bible speak for itself because---> for sure God has the last say....

AMEN????

A few thoughts. When Clinton was president he had to fire this lady that he had appointed a particular position, and she was a friend of Hillarys. She had said things that were outlandish and certainly unchristian like, imagine Clinton having to fire someone for saying immoral things? Anyway, I watched the woman on TV several times and I disagreed completely with her ideas, however I found that I liked her, and my memory of her has always been good. Why? Because she was always respectful and polite when she spoke...ALWAYS.

The conversation went on uninterrupted for a little while, and was quite pleasant. If you would like to read a couple of pages from where some of my story is, you can start here ~> http://christianchat.com/bible-discussion-forum/149507-have-you-believed-false-grace-message-37.html
Like most good conversations, those seeking attention will come and preach to an audience.

I have found that conversations that last more than a couple days goes downhill after a while.

Can we buy that in pill form?

I guess a chillax powder would be okay, long as it doesn't have to be adminstered as a suppository.

The first church gathered for the love of Christ, that was their common ground. Listening first to the first hand believers, sharing in their testimony and asking God to lead them in truth.
Not that this is a church but if some here are what are found in a church no wonder most are looking for a home.
Sometimes all we can offer is a hug and a shoulder to cry on.

A home is more than a building, it's a place you know you can go and be loved even if you just crawled out of the mud of a pig pen.

I get the inkling sometimes that others have a very different idea than me of what being fruitful and producing fruit is.
I think they love God and feel they aren;t producing fruit for Him and sometimes I see that they are producing more fruit for him than those who think they are producing a lot.

They think that they need to go and preach the gospel to someone to produce fruit for God. Or that they need to go and do good works like in an area of need in the community. These are necessary things, do not misunderstand what I am saying. Preaching the gospel is sowing seed. It is not producing fruit. It can lead to someone else producing fruit for God, so there is some sort of overlapping in what I'm trying to say, but sowing seed is sowing seed and producing fruit is producing fruit.

When I am sowing seed (which we all do, even those of us who do not preach, and often we are sowing seed without words by how we act, as with the man who said: preach the gospel at all times. If necessary, use words.)

But each of us is the tree that God wants fruit from and wants to get even more fruit from with His pruning and this fruit is not sowing seed. This fruit is the fruits of the Spirit. You can see the humblest person cleaning the church and that humility is fruit, while you can see someone who preaches and teaches and goes and does all manner of good works in the community but is not growing in humility, meekness, kindness, mercy, so they aren't producing fruit for God. (No, I am not saying that there are no people who do these things who don't also produce fruit for God!) I am saying that I quite often see those who produce massive amounts of fruit and become more and more fruitful by leaps and bounds who think they produce no fruit for their Lord when they produce reams of it! 2 Peter 1:8 is the scripture that talks about this - if these things are in you and are increasing, you will not be unfruitful.

The reverse of that would be doing many good works and volunteering everywhere and preaching and teaching and getting the idea that you are producing fruit by this when you are not growing in fruit at all and are really full of yourself and temperamental and nasty!

In the BDF i mean. People calling each other liars and heretics? Where people seem to be more concerned with everybody else's salvation? As if they're "on a mission from God" to put someone in their place. Is that what the Christian walk means to people? An outward circumstance in relation to ourselves? Seems like so much of the world even acts that way. They just use a different language.
I think some people just like to argue. If you agreed with them, they'd probably argue all the more.

I think those of us who have met God and received the Holy Spirit are sometimes more culpable in the matter than the ones they say "started it."
