In my travels I met a pastor who knew Swaggart personally. He said that many of the pastors knew he had the issue with women,it was a well known secret. Sad that he let his vices bring him down.
hmmm

and also possibly even more sad, that 'pastors' shirked their God given responsibility and did not have a sit down with him

just ignoring all instructions in the Bible about how matters like that are dealt with

Swaggart probably needed some very strong in the faith Christian men to pray over him and for him

I think when a person gets involved in porn...either online or in person...they probably need help getting out of it

I also think, this is my opinion, that when a Christian sinks in that kind of mire, that the devil actually has a stronger hold on them because they kicked down their own 'defenses'

but like I said, just my opinion there

Swaggart enjoyed bashing other's ministries for decades.

My Mom & Dad were sinners, & would get excited how he would bash other denominations. Nothing but pure entertainment.

Swaggart is a barker, a religious showman, & a hawker of merchandise.

I was not into him... I have never have been into histrionics

my mother sure was entertained by him though...sadly

I really don't know how much bashing he did, but he is definitely in his own little world and I guess was back then too

For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance (Romans 11:29). King David committed adultery many times, but God said He was a man after His own heart (1 Sam. 13:14;Acts 13:22). He will also rule in the Millennium (Ezekiel 37:24). These things must be handled by Spiritual leaders (Elders of the Church) who does the restoring.

The question I have, is Pastor Swaggarts doctrine truth? Does victory over sin, the world, the flesh, and the devil ONLY come by the Believer placing Faith (believing) and maintaining it in Christ and the Cross, i.e., The Blood of Jesus, i.e., The Finished at Calvary Cross; which allows the Holy Spirit who is God (The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus - Romans 8:2) bring victory (GRACE) and help us in every capacity of life (this is called walking in the Spirit)? Or do you or your Pastor have another way?

Because we are in Christ the Holy Spirit keeps all laws and commandments for us when we place and maintain Faith exclusively in Christ and Cross., i.e., The Finished Work, i.e., The Blood of Jesus - where the victory was won. Failure to do so the works of the flesh (sin) will manifest (Gal. 5:19-21). This must be done by an act of Faith, by believing only, and not an act of labor.

Or do you or your Pastor have another way?

Those who walk in the spirit will always have shortcomings (acts of sin) until the trump sounds. We must rejoice in whatever Glory we are in. God is the potter and we are the clay. He moves us from glory to glory and faith to faith. No man or woman can change their life without the Holy Spirit. Can an Ethiopian change the color of his skin? Can a leopard take away its spots? Neither can you start doing good, for you have always done evil (Jeremiah 13:23). The scripture says before He formed me in my mothers womb He approved me.

This is why we must understand what
justification is and why it is the first subject in the book of Romans. It lays down the foundation as I go through sanctification.

Justification gives me the ability to get back up from every failure no matter how many times and stand up and go through this process and learn it. Justification gives us a legal standing with God that is not cancelled because of the acts of sin. So if I fail (and we will) at this same thing a thousand times - God forbid! We are a work in progress. Remember Jesus said I did not come to condemn (John 3:17).

Justification is not what we do, and not what I am, and not what I worked for. It is what Jesus did and my faith in it that gives me the standing with God that I need to carry on my Christian experience. Sometime I do it well, and sometimes I do it not so well, but his justifying Grace will not fail unless my faith fails. It is just if I have never sinned and just if I have always obeyed.

Do you believe this or is it another way?

Now that you are saved, you should ask the Lord to baptize you with the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:4).

While it is certainly true the Holy Spirit came into your heart and life the moment of your Salvation, still, He now wishes to endure you with power from on high. Consequently, Jesus told all of His followers immediately before His Ascension, that they should "wait for the Promise of the Father" (
Acts 1:4). He was speaking of being "Baptized with the Holy Spirit" (Acts 1:5).

You must understand that there is a great difference in being "born of the Spirit" than being " Baptized with the Spirit." They are two different works altogether.

To be "born of the Spirit" is that which took place at your conversion, as the Holy Spirit brought you to Christ and performed the work of regeneration within your heart and life. To be "Baptized with the Spirit" is in order that you may have Power with God (
Acts 1:8). Every Believer should ask the Lord to fill them with the Holy Spirit, and expect to receive (Luke 11:13).

Now that you are being saved, moving from
faith to faith, and glory to glory; God has only one way to live for Him, please Him, honor Him, bring Him glory, and receive victory. That way is: Have Faith only in Jesus Christ and the Cross of Christ, i.e., Finished Work, i.e., The Blood of Jesus. The Holy Spirit that dwells in you will only help you and work in your life if your faith is maintained in this perimeter.

Is redemption centered up in the Cross of Christ or the Resurrection of Christ?

Answer:

Redemption is centered up totally in the Cross of Christ. While everything else after the Cross, the Resurrection, Ascension, and Exaltation of Christ, played a tremendous part, and continues to play a tremendous part, the truth is, all of this is made possible, the Resurrection, Ascension and Exaltation of Christ, because of the Cross.

Victory = The Cross of Christ, i.e., The Blood of Jesus, i.e., The Finished Work

Is Jimmy Swaggart Biblical = YES

Mt 24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

Mt 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

Mr 13:6 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

2Jo 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh.
This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

you know, I have to question if Swaggart would never have confessed if he hadn't been caught

the reason I say that, is because before his own 'confession' he was very busy accusing quite a few others of sexual sin while practicing immorality on a grand scale

the hypocrisy is more than a little alarming

deep deep roots of denial...not just the sin..

he was caught...so he confessed...he called Jim Baker a cancer on the body of Christ and meanwhile, he was visiting prostitutes and was even caught with one in his...cough cough...Jaguar

lifestyle of the rich and famous but not a Christian called by God

alot of people get real apologetic and sorry when caught in the act

Swaggart condemmed many before he was himself caught and apparently he is still pointing fingers at others

seems he thinks quite highly of himself...

God is the one that justifies, not man nor woman.

Some Believers, immature in the Word, have the idea that anyone who falls is weak. That is not necessarily so! The Truth is, if the Lord allowed the pressure to be applied to most, as He did David or Paul, or Peter for that matter, or a host of others, they would not only fall, but be totally destroyed in the process. God allows Satan certain latitude according to the particular Call on the individual's life, which will, most of the time, necessitate a certain spiritual maturity. None of this is any excuse for failure, but, nevertheless, the situation is never as simple as it seems, or some people make it out to be. The only experts on these battles are those who have never fought them.

Forty years in the desert was needed to humble (Moses) the strength of the "flesh" and destroy its hope; the possible King of Egypt was now an obscure shepherd.

this is just fluff on so many levels

you have 0 idea how God works in the lives of others unless you know them

you have no idea how people may be tempted and overcome

the Bible does not blame the devil for our sin. in fact, it states the opposite... But each one is tempted when by his own evil desires he is lured away and enticed. James 1:14

you might make note that sin has ripple effects.

The question I still have is the doctrine of "The Message of the Cross" error? Does it bring victory over sin, the world, the flesh, and the devil?

Why is someone named "Message Of The Cross" defending Jimmy Swaggart's special revelation which he calls the "Message Of The Cross"?

Are you Jimmy Swaggart?
Are you Donnie Swaggart?
Are you one of their relatives?
Do you work for them?
Do you live across the street?
Do you cut their hair?

I think full disclosure is in order.
