Only One ..... no other

An neither are the "canonized" "saints" qualified

No man has gone to heaven except the One that has come down from heaven

And this one is the only One in the business of intercession

Prayer has power, but it must not be misdirected

Suggest that you spend more time with your Bible so that you can understand

..... and the Pope and Islam ..... no connection .... oil and water

The only similarity ..... both teach falsehoods

I asked a very simple question; do your prayers have power? Does Jesus hear them?
If I ask a friend to pray for me, does Jesus hear his prayers?

Yes

When the Lord is the One asked by any .... He responds on all, in one way or another

Did not Paul ask a few of the churches that he dealt with to pray for him....You missed the point of my post as I did answer your question....NO prayers will make it through MARY ever as she has no intercessory power. Every man, woman and child can pray through Jesus unto the Father and of they are right in their lives their prayers will be heard. Can I or you or Mr. Magoo pray for someone? YES but ONLY through JESUS as he is the only one with intercessory power.......!

Question....I assume you are Catholic based upon your answers...do you read and study the bible or just rely upon the Priest and the Catholic dogma that he promotes (no offence meant to you or any Catholic)...I suggest you actually sit down and study the bible after PRAYING for understand through the NAME OF JESUS...if you don't already actually do this.

The funny thing here is that I actually totally agree with you.
Mary doesn't intercede to the father for us. My point is that I ask her to pray for me - to Jesus (who Himself intercedes to the Father). Just like I would ask you to pray for me. :)
Yes I am a Catholic, who prays and reads the Bible. :)

umm, you realize that asking Mary to pray for you TO Jesus IS asking her to intercede for you, right? As dcon said, Mary has NO intercessory power. Zip, zilch, none, nada.. Why go through Mary, when you're SUPPOSED to be praying to Jesus himself and ONLY him?!

Okay. If I ask you to pray for me, does that mean you are interceding for me?

Nope.. it means I am fulfilling your request to pray for you. However, I am a living being that you asked to pray for you; Mary is long dead and is nothing more than a spirit now. Like I said, when you can pray DIRECTLY to Jesus, why do you go through Mary, who btw, is NOT the intercessor? JESUS is the intercessor, your prayers need to be directed towards him, not Mary.

The difference is that I believe that Mary and all those who die in Christ are in Heaven, and can ask Christ to assist me. I think of it like how you would ask the person who you know has the closest relationship with Christ to pray for you.
But no matter, we'll agree to disagree. :)

Only one problem in my view is that there is no precedence set in the scriptures for us to pray to someone dead and ask them to go to Jesus for us.....Why do such a thing when the bible teaches the priesthood of believers and the right to go to God directly through Jesus yourself?

Oh I'm sure she's probably in heaven.. the point is, she's NOT who you're supposed to be praying to for intercession..THAT would be Jesus..:)

It is called being disobedient to God. They do it, acknowledge they do it, and refuse to see it as a problem.
But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
They do that very thing and pretend not to see their efforts are in vain, empty, useless. They very plainly have not acquired a love for truth, and that is a real problem.
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

My Comment

Again .... only the Son of God Jesus Christ can hear anyone's prayers .... dead people know nothing and cannot interact in any way

There is a danger in praying to the "dead" apart from a prayer that goes no where

When people do this thing they open themselves up for satanic intervention .... his fallen ones will fill the void and redirect

True.

Here's what I found at CATHOLIC LIBRARY: Iucunda Semper Expectatione (1894) The Catholic Encyclopedia
"2. The recourse we have to Mary in prayer follows upon the office she continuously fills by the side of the throne of God as Mediatrix of Divine grace; being by worthiness and by merit most acceptable to Him, and, therefore, surpassing in power all the angels and saints in Heaven. Now, this merciful office of hers, perhaps, appears in no other form of prayer so manifestly as it does in the Rosary. For in the Rosary all the part that Mary took as our co-Redemptress comes to us, as it were, set forth, and in such wise as though the facts were even then taking place; and this with much profit to our piety, whether in the contemplation of the succeeding sacred mysteries, or in the prayers which we speak and repeat with the lips."

Office? Next to the Throne of God doing Jesus' duties. Mom took over from Son?

The volumes of errors in the RCC are sickening. It is not good read, folks. Use sparingly.

.
It is a coup brother. Sad our catholic brother and sister don't see it.

This doctrine is try replace Jesus with Queen of heaven as mediator

To put Mary in place of Jesus though not full.

antichristos: antichrist, (one who opposes Christ)
Original Word: ἀντίχριστος, ου, ὁ
Part of Speech: Noun, Masculine
Transliteration: antichristos
Phonetic Spelling: (an-tee'-khris-tos)
Short Definition: antichrist
Definition: antichrist, either one who puts himself in the place of, or the enemy (opponent) of the Messiah.

Not to flog a dead horse, but what I'm saying is this:
I ask blue_ladybug to pray for me because I know she has a relationship with Christ. Christ hears blue_ladybug's prayers and answers them in His way.
I ask Mary to pray for me because I know she has a relationship with Christ. Christ hears Mary's prayers and answers them in His way.

We have different views and I accept that. :)

The confusing here is how it is worded.

We can ask others to go to Jesus in their prayers for us.

We do not pray to others to go to Jesus and ask Him for us.

You see how the wording gets flip-flopped to fit a false understanding of context.
Just like when Jesus said;

He who endures to the end shall be saved. ( True statement )

People want to flip this scripture around to say the opposite;

He who is saved, endures to the end. ( False statement )

Brother Sealebeag,

If you ask Blue Ladybug's pray for you, you have to email her, or call her or use other communication tools.

Ladybug's will pray for you. Mary is not physically life anymore. How do you know Mary able to hear you?

A million catholic ask Mary to pray for them. a thousand in america, a thousand in africa and it may a thousand people a round the globe ask in the same time.

Do you believe Mary omnipresent like God? does she attend in thousands places at the same time? If so than you make Mary like God. You elevate Mary as a God. There isn't Queen of heaven brother.

Do your prayers have no power?
Mary is a dead woman. Enoch and Elijah went straight to heaven. Nowhere does the bible say Mary is in heaven. You pray to a dead woman. You know what the bible says about that?
And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

Then by your definition, any person who prays on behalf of another to Christ is committing sin by thinking himself or herself an intercessor.
