Do you think that these latest software's have increased are time spent in the Lord or decreased. Has it helped or hindered our meditation.
Now I am not being judgemental here but what I've found in me using a lot of software is I search for what I'm Intrested in and possibly not what the Lord wants to show me.

Just saying that in some cases it is better to turn off the puter and search for that nugget on your own with the holy spirit of course.

I have no idea what kind of mystical God you are talking about.

I don't ask God to bend a spoon to show me what to read or to give me a mystical feeling.

Anyway, the software has enhanced my personal study time and fellowship with other believers. I am sorry you have not had the same experience.

They definitely have changed the way they run the company. I get resources for a good price. They have more sales.Maybe one day you can try it again.

I may pay more, but I have better features than any other software has.
Not cut-down though. If something helps, use it for God's glory. :)
Have you now gone on Logos' payroll? :D

Honestly, if I spent half as much time with the software programs as I do here on CC, I would have twice as much nuggets treasured up.:)

Which is why I maintain that unless you are going to seminary, Logos is waste.
I would possibly have to disagree. Like I said earlier. I have mixed feelings. However, (and this was the basis of my original decision) I don't think one can get with other software packages the lexical resources that the Original Languages package had. At least that's the way it was years ago. In that regard, it was worth it. I don't know what they offer now.

I have no idea how you are disagreeing with me? Logos has superior resources, yes.

I think it was about $1,000 as I got a lot of upgrades..greek and Hebrew ..versions of the bible..some commentaries..etc.
I only paid about $300 for the Logos Original Languages package. Lean and mean with no commentaries and other garbage (IMO). Another $200 upgrade and I'm well stocked with lexicons and such. Something that I've really used that I never expected are the Targums and the Aramaic lexicon.

Oh, you said you thought Logos was a waste unless someone was going into seminary. I didn't go to seminary and have been blessed by what I bought.

Most people do not have the ability to learn certain skills without seminary. Including me.

I have found that praying in the spirit is a great blessing when studying...

What skills are you learning in seminary that most people can't learn with the help of the Holy Spirit?

Cool! I'd like to get the Septuagint on my program but they don't have it yet. I found a free place tho on line....you might have it but the link is below if that is something you are interested in...or maybe you have one..

Search for: caused - Strong's Interlinear Bible Search - Reference Desk - StudyLight.org

I have a question about the Septuagint that you may be able to help me. How often did they use the greek version in their synagogues back in Jesus' day and the apostles?..any idea?..thanks!

So you are saying the Holy Spirit is limited on what He can teach us?

Nice try. I am saying he can only remind us of what we know. That is the biblical precept.

I don't serve a mystical God who downloads things in my head because I want to be irresponsible and not study.

How can you explain this verse then?

John 14:26 (NASB)
[SUP]26 [/SUP] "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.

That says exactly what I just told you. The holy spirit never taught the disciples anything they had not already heard from Jesus.
By extension, the same is true for us regarding the scripture.

I highlighted in bold where it says "He will teach you all things" Jesus is talking about both teaching and remembrance as separate things the Holy Spirit will do.

I'm not against an education but when we rely on man to teach us something of the spirit then we are going to continue to rely more on man than God.
