That's the point I'm trying to make. Why do we use it here on earth?
Because we must sweet for our living.

And a person says, "If I am going to use my energy, I want to end up having a material object. Give me money and I will go and get what I want".

Money was produced because of the curse. Before then, we were in a fellowship with God and He supplied our needs.

Does God pay Christians or work ?
If it is God then what of those 30000 children who cannot work and die everyday?

To work is not of faith but of an expectant reward and debt. Hence every nation and country in the world is in debt. Again while 20 million homes are EMPTY! We have enough resources for all, but why can't we all enjoy it?

Before there was money, livestock was currency. Think of Job. He was a very rich man but he had no money. Instead, he had many, many animals.

That's why man was given 6 days to work. But I say today that the true sabbath day is upon us.

Money is just a way to make barter simpler... Like if my grain is worth three goats but I want two goats and four ducks, then I'd have to trade my grain for three goats.. Then take a goat and trade it for four ducks.. It was brought forth to simplify this. Well plus I could carry a few coins in my pouch which is easier than carrying goats...

Obviously man is corrupt...... So that's the whole down side of money

Sorry, Alexis. It's the only way I can experience Alaska, while living in South Australia. Different timezones and temperatures and all that.

I understand all of this. All I'm saying is that we now live in a day and age in which none of these things are needed.

Spirit of Fire,

The solution is not found in governance from men, neither governance from anyone else. Jesus will show us the proper governance and how it is to be done.

When we seek faith in men, we are often disappointed, as you so well point out. And if we place our confidence in Jesus, He said He will not fail as King.

It is good to give, but since our creation and rebellion, we have lost the Giver and must till the ground ourselves.

Hope can only be found in His Kingdom.

Does not Christ live in us? Then I speak of the government of Christ.

YESSSSSSS!!!!!! I fully agree. So, let us rest when the curse is removed and what that cursed produced when we are told, by the removal of that curse, that we do not work for what God would willfully give to us. Until then, we are giving hope of that coming Kingdom.

The governance you are speaking about of Christ living in us, whereby we call Jesus our Lord, is the Kingdom of/from the Heaven(s). This is where He shows us His Lordship (mastership).

The governance I am talking about is when the Father and Son comes down and rule on Earth forevermore. It is then that He will shows us His Kingship.

It starts with the economic collapse of the world.

I'm just wondering how people view the basics of heavenly life.

But if you do not see money in heaven, what us wrong with trying to pattern our world here after what we hope it to be now?

Is there money in heaven? I don't know. Will God provide everything we want when we want it? Doesn't seem logical since the bible teaches good stewardship, sharing, and contentment. Wouldn't those values carry on in the hereafter, which may imply some form of transactions taking place.
However, this is all conjecture and speculation is it not?
We could just as well ask, Is there food in heaven? Is there oxygen? Will we wear clothes? etc...
I could go further and ask , What is heaven? Where is heaven? and What is heaven made of?
Lets be careful speaking with certainty about things we know to be uncertain.

it would be a complicated undertaking to rid ourselves, here on earth, of all dealings with money.

though it's possible, it's not possible for everyone - how is someone living in the city going to turn into a life of subsistence farming, and even for that, wouldn't it take seed money to procure land and seeds and equipment etc?

i think it's a noble undertaking, but not one that all of us are called to do. i think it would help to assuage greed, but it wouldn't destroy greed, covetousness, pride or anything else, but it would sure make you work a lot harder to put food on the table and a roof over your children's heads. when you're doing all that work all day you don't have much time to think about buying a new $600 phone or an $80 shirt.
however we're blessed with a lot of freedom in this age and in this land, not having to spend all of our days toiling in the dirt. is the best use of that freedom to give it up and put our hands back to the plow?

it's not "money" that is the root of all evil, but the love of it - so while it's not for everyone to give up using money here on earth all together, i feel like we all ought to at least give up the love of it!

now what does that look like on earth? what that translates to in practice may be different for all of us in our different situations. i don't think it means to ignore the needs of ourselves and our own families, but when it comes to luxuries and entertainment, (hey i'm just as guilty or more here as any of you) -- then there are certainly better things we could be doing with $$ !

we ought to have our minds on heavenly things. i disagree with those of you calling this a dumb thread. OP's right, there won't be any money in heaven -- it shouldn't occupy a big place in our thinking and actions here on earth, accordingly. maybe it's better to say -- we should be ready to give up money, just like we should be ready to let go of every material object here, because all of it is going to be tested with fire some day. we all live in a foreign land and we're not taking a suitcase with us when our bus comes by to take us home.

It's not complicated at all if my 11 year old son can talk to people across the world by his playstation alone. Our problems would be technological.

Children have no concept of money.

Yes. This is the purpose and design of the 7 day week. This is why there are 20 million empty homes in america alone. It is why we have enough food for 12 billion people. We do not need it now and that's why it has to and will fall.
