Which topic was it?
NAR, or Cessationism, or Darbyism(which is the same as Schofield in my mind), or dispensationalism, or zionism?
Because I think we have a little of all the above on here.
This thread is like an 'all you can eat' of argumentative topics.
Which is I guess why you posted it,.......(to keep the arguing at one end of the dog pound).

I think the point of the thread was one of preventitive measures. Instead of having the subjects related to each other in the title show up seperately in other areas, make a first strike by having them concentrated into one huge zit.

If you throw all the terms together, you get it pretty well covered.

BTW - I find it strange that someone who disputes that spiritual gifts are still active today would claim to possess the gift of discernment.

I dispute modern day tongues, apostles and prophets. And the accompanying fake signs and wonders that are then attributed to God.

Anyways, now that you guys are back, I see no reason to hang around the forums if all people are going to do is sling insults and make false assumptions in an attempt to draw others into your doctrinal perspectives.

1 Corinthians 13:11

When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.

I never said you were banned. I simply said that it explained your reappearance.

The Lord leads. Be bold, crossfyre, for He has overcame the world.

Overcome !!!!!! Foolish to back down IF His Spirit has you somewhere to WORK a miracle, cf, notcsure, YOU only know, for He works His marvelous act through you, a willing, PURE, vessel.. What? You thunk only miracles were of HEALING, LOL . DON'T make me laugh. :)

(Note: I agree, accusations and 'ban' talk has NO place on c.c. No, not nowhere .)

Speak in Love, or, best we don't speak but flgiving in to childish referencing and silly-super, wilder than wild, dopey images should do very little to bring down your 'sword,' put on your armor and MOVE, as He leads, anyone that thinks there so smart that Truth can't sometimes be needed dispensed through other believing minds seems foolish . God works His mysteries through His stewards.

Peace!
Folks, do you realize how many need the gospel you have?
Let's steer it away from the 'personals', O.K.?

Indeed, we are putting too much attention on ourselves.

Let us Unite in Spirit and Truth.

What will he make of all this?

It is not pleasing that we behave like this.

Let us bring our Light together to make a Bright Light.

All these theologies are dividing not uniting..

If that be so then what do we say?

We are not here for ourselves, through Humility we walk on following the Good Shepherd.

Bless us with Truth my Lord.

Zone, Miscellaneous called "charismatic pro and con". Isn't it curious how many people posted like to your request. Are they trying to tell us something?

Apparently, some have exited the thread, regarding this verse, how does it apply to cessationism?

There is that 'make sure God is one speaking' thread still around but it's meant for not this topic, really, so, without further ado, we ask you to pull yourself up a chair and be our guest. Oh, sorry, got carried away, but since zone already posted a long SOMEONE ELSE'S commentary on this verse, can we make this just.....

your opinion, pleasez, and, by all means, use Scripture to show your point. Here are the verses, what do these verses say to you regarding cessationism. Are they in support of it, or, not?

4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. 11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. 13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity
.

2 questions for you now, now that you've read the verses, questions posted in the 'speak from God' thread, but, again, this thread is more in caliber with its topic of spiritual gifts, which cessationists believe were DONE AWAY WITH after the apostolic (2nd century, 200 A.D.) age of apostle Paul, Peter, and, John.

What time is this passage in?

What is 'perfect to come?' Is it a 'what' even?
Why do YOU believe this way, sure, use Scripture or go to 'God speaking deadly' thread and c/p whatever you need for your cessasionist view, but, the Lord leads, can't we just all GIT along, little peepies :D

Note: I just don't see why this raging debate cannot be discussed, nicely, He leading us all, some saying their led by 'As much as it Is up to you, be at peace with all men,' Scripture, and, some us knowing Him in us leading us to all truth (of course, that Truth is in the Word, silly bears :) ) Afterall, Christ peeps, don't you know that the lion will one day lie down with the lamb :) zone, you ferocious cat, you're, of course, welcome back too :)

I mentioned in the other thread (no I have not given up here for there) that this is like Eph. 4:13, where prophecy and apostleship must last until the Body reaches the fulness of Christ. This is the time that is intended. There is a slight difference in the words for "stop". For tongues, the word is pauo, to cease. For the other two it is katargeo, which can mean cease, but can also mean lose effectiveness. I don't believe the gifts were ever stopped by God. They have always continued but were pushed out of the church meetings by the leaders, since that made it easier to administer.
