The faith that saves comes from hearing Gods word. It is God that creates in a mans heart the faith that saves. The Holy Spirit stirs the heart of man when it is faced with Gods word. John 3:18-21 demonstrates mans choice when faced with Gods word.

Those who claim that salvation received by grace can be lost do great offense to God. Is God unable to do that which He has said He will do?

I only wonder what those who claim salvation can be lost or given up really received. I have never desired or feared the loss of my salvation. The wonderful change in my life I experienced and wonderful freedom from sin I received is so great that I could never imagine being rejected by my Savior.

I know that I am Christ's because His Spirit witnesses with my spirit that I am His. I have the certainty of the new creation in my life. Since I have been saved I am not the man I once was nor do I desire to return to being that man.

Still some insist on arguing against God and creating threads to create doubt and uncertainty about Gods ability to save. The arm of Jehovah is not shortened that He cannot save.

Acts 8, Simon became a Christian, fell away by trying to buy the power of the HS yet was told lby Peter he could repent and be restored.
Jesus commanded some of the 7 churches in Asia to repent or be lost. Why the command if it were not possible?
Utter bull. Simon didn't have the Holy Spirit. Try reading Acts 8. He tried to buy the Holy Spirit.

Simon was told to repent and be saved not restored.

The seven churches we in danger of the Holy Spirit leaving them to the spirit of this world. This is not about individuals losing salvation.

Your exegesis is terrible. Get saved before it is too late.

Like many have pointed you...you regularly deceive people by saying that you do not teach a works based salvation...you rely upon yourself and not Jesus.....deceived for sure!
A person is going to do some kind of work in their life regardless (Whether it be good fruit or evil fruit). A person will bring forth fruit according to the type of spirit that lives within them. For the Scriptures say, if a person does righteousness they are of God. They also say if one sins, they are of the devil. This means that if God truly does live within a believer, then the fruits of the Lord will be present within their life. Not their fruit. God's fruit. For Jesus said we can do nothing without Him.

Jesus said, a good tree cannot bring forth bad fruit and vise versa.
Jesus said we will know false prophets, by their fruit.
Paul identifies those who have a form of Godliness but they deny the power thereof.

Since there is no way to persuade you from Scripture that OSAS is true; because you have rejected idea: the best I can do is show you that yhe alternative is impossible.

Heb 6:4-6
4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
KJV
Here we see a clear statement that if it is possible to fall from grace, THERE IS NO WAY BACK.

Jn 2:1 clearly indicates that restoration after sinning is indeed possible; therefore by implication it is impossible to fall from grace.
John 2:1 clearly indicates? John 2:1 "And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:"

Nope, don't see the connection. But let me say this, there is a difference between a stumble and a fall. But to say it is impossible to fall is totally contrary to the words of God. Deny the words of God, is to deny the faith in Jesus Christ.

Jesus answered and said unto her,

If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

Even as it says without money or price

Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

Here it is,

But when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given,

he offered them money,

But Peter said unto him,

Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.

Its ....without money and without price.

He continues,

Thou hastneither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.

Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.

I believe this can at least show (in Simon Peter) one established as an apostle whose ministry cannot be blamed in any slanderous way to a love of money (which is the root of all evil)

As Jesus said...

No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Peters refusal to be bought out is really in this one

It's wholly demonic, to try and diminish faith and trust in the Lord, to weaken peoples' faith, sowing doubt. It is Satanic. Sorry for all you ecumenicals, that like putting a silk hat on pigs, but this is the truth, and the claims being made here are part of a falling away, a denial of gospel truths. Just pardon me if I don't join in a chorus of Kumbaya. It's disgusting, like what you find under a rock.

Your handy-dandy long list of verses against OSAS - BaptistBoard.com
I'm not going to go through a long list of verses and tediously refute your perverted understanding of them.

With a wrong heart attitude the word of God will never reveal the truth to you. It is the common pattern of unbelievers to confuse salvation with sanctification. Sanctification does not produce salvation. Salvation is required before sanctification can begin.

OSAS is dependent on a denial of this passage of scripture.

Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

The above passage reveals...

1. "No condemnation" is associated with walking after the Spirit.

and

2. The Spirit of life in Jesus Christ is associated with a freedom from the law of sin and death.

Those who uphold OSAS simply cannot associate any "walk" (ie. what one manifestly "does" in practice) with the reprieve from condemnation that God offers sinner whom repent. Thus that above passage, by necessity, must be ignored.

Not only that, but those whom uphold OSAS must, by necessity, hold to a false definition of "salvation" which has NOTHING to do with actually being set free from the law of sin and death. This is an even more significant point then the previous one.

Paul connects a being "set free" to "obedience to the truth from the heart."

Rom 6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
Rom 6:18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

The above two verses reveal...

1. "Obedience from the heart" (to the doctrine delivered) is connected to "being made free from the service of sin."

This premise is also given greater emphasis by the following words of Paul...

Rom 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

...which reveals...

1. "Obedience unto righteousness" is the opposite of "sin unto death."

If "Obedience unto righteousness" is connected to "being set free from serving sin" and if "no condemnation" is connected to "walking after the Spirit" then it is very obvious that being "set free from the law of sin and death" by the "Spirit of life in Jesus Christ" is a reference to a MANIFEST STATE OF REALITY in which one is....

1. Obeying God by walking after the Spirit.
2. Not disobeying unto unrighteousness.
3. Serving righteousness instead of sin.
4. Not sinning unto death.

This sentiment perfectly matches the following...

Tit 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Jesus gave Himself for us that...

1. He might redeem us from ALL iniquity.
2. Purify unto himself a weird people zealous of righteousness.

Thus if we look at verses 3 and 4 of Romans 8:1-4 we read...

Rom 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

The righteousness of the law is fulfilled IN those whom WALK after the Spirit. Paul taught the following...

Gal 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
Gal 5:5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
Gal 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

"Justified by the law" is opposed to "justification by faith."

FAITH WORKS BY LOVE and LOVE FULFILLS THE LAW.

Rom 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
...
Rom 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
...
Gal 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Again Paul wrote...

Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Salvation is a MANIFEST STATE.

Salvation is of WALKING AFTER THE SPIRIT.

Those whom promote OSAS view salvation is purely POSITIONAL and thus deny that "doing" is associated with its reality at all. That is why they can defend one "being saved" and one "walking according to the lusts of the flesh" at the same time.

Those whom uphold OSAS and even those who deny OSAS yet uphold temporal justification when one is still serving sin in rebellion to God are all teaching the old lie of...

Ye can sin and not surely die.

Strip all the fluff from the writings of these people and this is what it comes down to. They literally believe they can sin and not surely die.

Gen 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
Gen 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

They believe they can do the following without the resulting death...

Jas 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Jas 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

They do not believe nor teach any escape from the corruption that is in the world through lust...

2Pe 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
2Pe 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

The question every single one of us ought to ask is have we escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust?

For it is only in escaping this corruption that we escape condemnation and death. We escape this corruption through repentance and faith whereby we abide in the Spirit of life IN Jesus Christ.

Deny the words of God, is to deny the faith in Jesus Christ.
should be 1Jn 2:1

Two subjects that those whom promote "you can sin and not surely die" will refuse to meaningfully address in this thread.

1. Escaping the corruption that is in the world through lust.
2. Heart purity in salvation (wrought by a faith that works by love because love uphold the righteousness of the law in the heart).

A third subject that those whom promote "you can sin and not surely die" will refuse to meaningfully address in this thread is...

The children of God being manifest to the world by their deeds whereby they no longer serve sin, but instead serve righteousness through love.

1Jn 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
1Jn 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
1Jn 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
1Jn 3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
1Jn 3:11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.

I dont know how someone might consider 1 Ti 5:8 in respects to disobedience and denying the faith, but there is (in that) becoming worse then an infidel could play in but there is professing to know God and being abominable and disobedient and unto every good work reprobate Titus 1:16. Im not sure how the doctrines of each camp deal various scriptures though

You act as one who has never experienced grace. You speak as one who does not know Gods grace.

It is the grace of God that saves. You either trust Gods grace or you trust yourself. Gods grace needs no help from you as Gods grace is wholly sufficient to save and those whom God has saved He seals with the Holy Spirit unto the day of redemption.

Thing is that those who deny Gods ability to save substitute themselves as more important than trusting God to do what He has promised. Go ahead and trust yourself as for me I'm going to trust God.

Why does this issue come up daily, on dozens of threads, in various incantations? Confess with your mouth in Jesus and believe God raised Him from the dead and you will be saved. Please STOP dividing the brethern! Preach that Gospel and tell people how Jesus and the Holy Spirit has been working in YOUR life. THAT is what resonates with unbelievers

I am not asking for people to address all the verses. I am merely showing that OSAS is false and there is a lot of Scripture to prove it. Anyways, take on a couple and explain them using the context (if you can).

As for Sanctification: It is the working of God within a believer to put away sin and to yield to the righteousness that God wants to do within their life. If one refuses to yield to God working within them, then they are choosing to rebel against the Lord and do their own thing. Usually a believer refuses the Sanctification by the Spirit because they prefer the pleasure of their own sin (See the Condemnation in John 3:19-21).

You know what....verb tenses, clauses, verses in context prove you wrong....the very definition of the words eternal and everlasting prove you wrong...Ecclesiastes 3:11 proves you wrong......the fact that our spirit which has been born again and does not sin makes you wrong....the sealing of the spirit which is our prepayment of our ETERNAL inheritance makes you wrong....no wonder you miss the mark on other things as well....you actually have to be born of the spirit to understand the word.
Scripture proves you wrong....

But then they might say, well they were never really born again of the Holy Spirit. But the words of God covers that as well in Hebrews 6:4-8 “For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,[SUP]5 [/SUP]And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,[SUP]6 [/SUP]If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.[SUP]7 [/SUP]For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:[SUP]8 [/SUP]But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.”

Utter bull. Simon didn't have the Holy Spirit. Try reading Acts 8. He tried to buy the Holy Spirit.
Acts 8:12,13 says both Samaritans and Simon believed and were baptized per Christ's own words of Mk 16;16. So they were in a saved position or Christ lied. Simon then tried to buy the power of the HS and Peter told Simon "thy money perish (present tense) with thee, v20, perish, apoleia meaning to be lost. Peter commands Simon "Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee." which would be utter nonsense to command this to Simon if it were impossible for Simon to do such.

Where have I promoted "Alexander Campbellism" and what is "Alexander Campbellism"?

This accusation comes from one, who in the time I have been on this forum, has not proved any his man-made teachings so he makes personal attacks over and over and over again. You could not biblically prove the heresy of OSAS if you life depended on it.
Yeah keep believing that...you will end up with the man you follow....I will be more than glad to wait and see who makes it....I trust Jesus and the words of Jesus....If you believe that God has raised him from the dead thou shalt be saved....You on the other hand follow your COC doctrine and your daddy Alexander Campbell!

Simon was told to repent and be saved not restored.

The seven churches we in danger of the Holy Spirit leaving them to the spirit of this world. This is not about individuals losing salvation.

Your exegesis is terrible. Get saved before it is too late.

He was saved in Acts 8:13.
