Are you going to reply about those whom had those wild encounters that you do not approve of, in how they received those wild encounters by the very same rudiment you got tongues without interpretation by which is receiving the Holy Spirt apart from salvation??

You do not smell a rat in Denmark yet?

Matthew 7:[SUP]13 [/SUP]Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: [SUP]14 [/SUP]Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. [SUP]15 [/SUP]Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. [SUP]16 [/SUP]Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? [SUP]17 [/SUP]Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. [SUP]18 [/SUP]A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. [SUP]19 [/SUP]Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. [SUP]20 [/SUP]Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. [SUP]21 [/SUP]Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. [SUP]22 [/SUP]Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?[SUP]23 [/SUP]And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
[SUP]24 [/SUP]Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: [SUP]25 [/SUP]And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. [SUP]26 [/SUP]And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: [SUP]27 [/SUP]And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

That is why after that rudiment ... by that same evil tree... those saints are falling down in those wild encounters because they sought to receive the "Spirit" apart from coming to & believing in Jesus Christ at their salvation.

2 Thessalonians 2:[SUP]13 [/SUP]But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: [SUP]14 [/SUP]Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. [SUP]15 [/SUP]Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

Ask yourself do those who proclaim receiving the Holy Spirit apart from salvation experiences miracles of supposed healing and casting out of devils and doing other wonderful works in His name? But never a report from the ones they supposedly had helped? Did you read that portion of scripture in Matthew 7:21-23 or not for why you should give pause when people fall in those movements as described in Matthew 7:24-27. That is what they get for going around Jesus Christ for anything else.

John 10:1Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

John 14:[SUP]6[/SUP]Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me......[SUP]13 [/SUP]And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. [SUP]14 [/SUP]If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

There is a way I guess to show on a graft that there is many more of them then there are of us who believe as I do. That I’m on the straight path and their on the wide path. O what does that tell you?

There are different kinds of gifts but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. (1 Cor. 12:4-5)

Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. (1 Pet. 4:10)

Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. (Romans 12:4-6a)

Although opinions differ on the actual number of spiritual gifts, God's Word clearly indicates a variety of gifts. You will find twenty different Greek words used for the gifts listed in the key passages on spiritual gifting. Herein you will find definitions for those possibilities.
Also Read:

You will also find an additional listing of five possible gifts not found in the key spiritual gifting passages. In the scripture references listed by those gifts the context of the verses includes the same original language for spiritual gifts used in the key passages. This spiritual gifts list is limited to the possibilities listed in the key gifts passages and those that are suggested by context.

I believe that the power of the holy spirit (speaking in tongues, healing, etc. Should operate in every Christian's life. Please post down below if you agree or if you don't. Please only debate lightly. The last thing we need is for more Christians to fight over things.
I prefer the etc. side of things. :)

Hornet guy- I believe we are seeing the miracles as they did in His day, in the gospels we see the highlights, we don't see the mundane parts. When it relates how "they went to Capernum" of such there is no trivial writing of how one of the say, broke a strap on their sandal and they all waited while he fixed it. I am sure you have the gift of a prayer language, I don't the why of
it not being apparent and used. I know when I use mine He responds immediately in my spirit. It seems to be a "let go and let G-d" thing for me. One doesn't have to "try harder", from my vantage point, His yoke is easy, His burden is light.

Most of what you mention there would be fruits of the Spirit... not miraculous "signs" that many people insist we must exhibit.

I believe the gifts of the Spirit that you mentioned will bring many, many more people to Jesus than someone "speaking in tongues".

I see a lot of scripture tossed back and forth here, but to be honest with you I don't see any real results.

Over the past several years I have personally invited at least a dozen people who claim to have the gift of healing to spend the evening with me at the nearby mental health hospital. Not one would join me.

I also invited one to the bedside of a 50 year old cousin who had an inoperable brain tumor. He told me to bring her to him.

God healed this wonderful woman about a week later. He took a wonderful woman of God home to be with him.

Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

Jesus told us to go and make disciples. If we are doing this, the Holy Spirit will give you the gifts that you need, when you need them.

Any one wants to go on the YouTube site and pick out a video that represent what any of you are talking about in action?

Those for tongues for today can best show a video of how it is done in your church or record & post it on YouTube.

Blasphemy of the Spirit is always and ONLY one of two things.

1) Giving Satan credit for the work of the Spirit.

2) Blaming the Spirit for the works of Satan.

Any honest question about whether an event or a phenomenon is truly of God is not Blasphemy of any sort.

We are told to test the spirits and we are not born expert at the task. As we seek to obey God gives us more and more discernment.
I might add
3) intentionally mocking the work of the Spirit in another's life.

I agree, especially with the last sentence. So many want the gift without the burden.

I find it almost hilarious that those with nearly no experience with Spiritual Gifts and the Pentecostal movement feel the most qualified to judge and condemn it.
BTW, running out of a messed up church does NOT qualify a person to judge and condemn a movement they were never a true partaker of in the first place.

Matthew 13: 53When Jesus had finished these parables, He departed from there. 54He came to His hometown and began teaching them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished, and said, “Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers? 55“Is not this the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called Mary, and His brothers, James and Joseph and Simon and Judas?56“And His sisters, are they not all with us? Where then did this man get all these things?” 57And they took offense at Him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in his own household.” 58And He did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief.
It's not fair to ask for a demonstration of a spiritual gift while contributing unbelief to purposely hinder it.

Neither is it fair to post multiple times against tongues to instigate others to post several times on tongues so that you can claim "all they're interested in is tongues instead of the of the other gifts".

3) intentionally mocking the work of the Spirit in another's life.
That would be assuming that the dividing between that person supposedly doing the mocking and the person mocked was the person doing the mocking first.

Is it not mocking a believer who did not receive the Holy Spirit apart from salvation after a sign of tongues? Is it not saying to them that they are missing something in their lives that they are not complete in Christ Jesus after all? And by doing so, is that not intentionally mocking the Holy Spirit as received at their salvation as promised by faith in Jesus Christ as if He has not been doing anything in their lives since they had been saved?

I do not consider that as blaspheming the Holy Spirit , but I do call that hypocrisy by that standard which you judge by. You guys do not hear yourselves in how provocative you are when you preach another calling and a tongue that does not come with interpretation as gained by that other calling.

Scriptures has warned me not to go after that other calling, but remain resting in Christ Jesus as filled & thus saved, and having received Jesus Christ, I trust Him as my Good Shepherd to help me walk in Him, rooted in the word from those that would wrest it to leave my resting place in Him to chase after other gods for a sign... even for a sign of tongues.

I thank Him that I serve the Lord Jesus Christ & nothing else in His name thereby being His disciples in seeking His glory alone for it is by the Son, I glorify God the Father at the same time.

There are several ways to approach a discussion:

1) Don't confuse me with facts, I just want to sound off.

2) I know what I think, so you can't possibly teach me anything new. If I can't persuade you I'll try to impress the people reading.

3) I'll present my thoughts, You present yours and one or both of us might learn something.

I don't think that will change much; but we can choose whose posts we answer.

Frankly, I need His help to discern that as to who to answer and as to who I should not. I feel like I am walking a tightrope here.

It appears that all you can add to this discussion is criticism and dismissal of those that disagree with your viewpoint.

Hardly a mature way to discuss a disagreed upon point.
