Good! But, in my childish opinion, there are some "bonds" on Catholic syncretism. I guess, according to your witness, God keeps on help us to open the eyes (the spiritual eyes too). And, for HIm, it is never too late.

What is the obvious flesh of the Catholic Church? What is that supposed to mean? What about the obvious flesh of the Protestant church?
Yes, one is as death dealing as the other.

The goal is to get rid of all of the persuasion of the flesh which has a carnal mind-set taught of Adam after he corrupted himself and then began having offspring and teaching that corrupted way to his offspring.

There is nothing biased about it, as we do not war with the flesh, even though the flesh wars against us. Our warfare is spiritual.

Why would it be so hard to follow scripture not man? Lots of things in both the protestant and catholic churches are purely invented by man. We are told to baptize, and I can't see it is a big thing about not baptizing infants. Christ was baptized so we want to be, too, so we each do it differently. No big deal on any of it.

But it is a big deal that Easter was decided on. We are to follow scripture regarding celebrating the resurrection. It is against scripture to make earthly pictures of Christ. It is important to look at all our traditions to check for pagan beginnings for them. It is important to be sure that we love the one true God, to check that in our hearts we do not give too much importance to any other than God.

I think these things are important for us to do, and labeling them should not be done. When people who are catholic have Christ as their savior, they are our brothers and sisters. If anyone says anything under a certain label is what they believe in rather than Christ, then they are not our brothers and sisters.

God did not tell us to love God as the Catholics say, as the Lutherans say, or as anything with an ism at the end of the word. We are to follow God as scripture says.

I like what you said. I have studied the history of my Church and have come to the conclusion that it is the First Church and imo the only Church. Having said that, we do share a common belief in the Lord Jesus Christ. That, imo, should bring us together instead of tearing us apart

Please try to hang in here for few minutes. My mother was raised in
a foster home by a Catholic family. She did not participate as Catholic
to my knowledge. After she left home married and raised her family
she was Protestant.

My mother was baptized in the '70's. She attended Pentecostal Church,
loved Gospel music. Her life did not show fruit in respect to Love of Christ.
She gave to people willingly. She tried praying, but still, no loving fruit.

At age 85, she became ill and began slowly dying. By July 4th I am called
to be with her. I am leaving life story out for time purposes. My husband
and I went to her room and we saw she was dying. This was something she
wanted, but when it came time she could not die.

I arrived at 11:00 AM. The nurse and aides left us alone with her. I began
soothing her, telling her it was okay to go. I read scriptures to her. I prayed
over her. I can't tell you all that went on because it was a long day and she
was not able to cross over. Finally, as my last resort I felt led to pick up the
Bible again and opened at random and opened to John 14... "In my Fathers
house there are many mansions, were it not so ...... You know the scripture.
I thought wow... I did not plan to go there.. Thank You Lord for your guidance.

I had been keeping her lips moist all day long, stroking her cheek and lay my
head beside her feeling the coolness of her cheek against mine. Quietly urging
her... it is okay Mom.. Soon you will see your family, and most of all Jesus.

Nothing. I thought to God... Father, what more can I do to help her? He
spoke to my spirit and said repeat these words...

SPIRIT OF RELIGION I COMMAND YOU TO RELASE HER. SHE DOES NOT PRAY
TO MARY, SHE WILL NOT GO TO PURGATORY, SHE WILL GO INTO THE ARMS
OF JESUS. The transformation that took place over her face was glowing.
She had always had a pinched look to her, and she began to glow... I heard
3 wisps leave her body and I thought to myself, Father God if I could just
see her smile I will know she made it... To my surprise, she smiled the most
beautiful smile that was never seen on her face at any time. Truly beautiful
breakthrough. I can only say for her, she was in bondage to a religion. Only
God could do what happened in that room. I KNOW MY MOTHER IS WITH THE
LORD NOW. This was her life changing event. BTW. She crossed over at 6:00 PM

My mom who had Alzheimer's died, and my dad has been worried about how long she would be in purgatory. I had to calm him down recently and tell him she's not there because scripture says she is reposing, not alive in purgatory. Immortality of the soul is not scriptural doctrine. My family is Catholic, but I've been free of that bondage since I was young but old enough to figure out their doctrine wasn't for me. I'm glad you could be a blessing to your mom in her hour of need. God bless you, sister.

Scripture says the soul dies.

"The soul that is sinning--it does die." (Ezekiel 18:4)

"The soul that does sin--it does die." (Ezekiel 18:20)

Christ alone has immortality.

"He is King of kings and Lord of lords, Who alone has immortality, making His home in light inaccessible, Whom not one of mankind perceived nor can be perceiving, to Whom be honor and might eonian! Amen!" (1 Timothy 6:15,16)

I am a born-again Christian who was born and raised, and went 8 years to Catholic grammar school. Most of my huge extended and immediate family remain Catholic. I try not to be critical of them because I do not want to judge individuals hearts. There is so much wrong with the Catholic church I don't know where to begin. I will forego the scandals f the church and stick to what I believe are it's satanic doctrines.I received a facebook notification that my Aunt sent me on Fri. that a Mass will be said in my father and uncles name if I wanted to attend. The purpose of mass cards and masses in someone's name is to lessen their time in purgatory. For those that don't know what that is it is basically the amount of time you have to suffer before you can move on to heaven. Further, you have to PAY for a mass card. this is a throwback to the corrupt, evil practice of indulgences when the church promoted the idea that you could BUY your loved ones way out of purgatory. I pray in Jesus name that those caught up in this "church" would see the truth and accept Him AND Him ALONE for your salvation!

Shaking my head. Another misguided individual buying into the propaganda! We do look to Jesus for our Salvation.

Nary a word about purgatory, indulgences, mass cards. Tell me MWC why was Jesus tortured, crucified, and die to pay for our sins if we could just go to purgatory for a few centuries, maybe less if we got a rich relative who will BUY enough mass cards to get us out quicker?

2 Maccabees 12:46. You will have to get a real Bible to look this up. This is the scriptural reference for Purgatory and Indulgences

Matthew 12:31-32 Suggests that sins can be forgiven in this age and the age to come. Purgatory is a cleansing process

Thank you MWC. It is rare to find catholics today willing to admit they believe in this doctrine even though they mindlessly employ it. But again I ask, if you can buy your way out of purgatory why did Jesus have to die for us?

Purgatory is for unconfessed sin. Sin you hold onto and refuse to repent of. I have showed you the scriptures. We have an advocate with the Father for true repentance.
