It is good to do well on the sabbath.helping people that are in need of help, Jesus preached and taught, and healed on the sabbath. As long as you are doing the works of God, on the sabbath you are blameless.

Enough is enough.

God's commandment.

Exo 20:8 "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

Deu 5:12 "'Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the LORD your God commanded you. 13 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 14 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter or your male servant or your female servant, or your ox or your donkey or any of your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates, that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you. 15 You shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the LORD your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.

God has not changed the day of the Sabbath, nor has he changed the way to observe the Sabbath.

Exo_16:23 he said to them, "This is what the LORD has commanded: 'Tomorrow is a day of solemn rest, a holy Sabbath to the LORD; bake what you will bake and boil what you will boil, and all that is left over lay aside to be kept till the morning.'" 25 Moses said, "Eat it today, for today is a Sabbath to the LORD; today you will not find it in the field. 26 Six days you shall gather it, but on the seventh day, which is a Sabbath, there will be none."

Exo_16:29 See! The LORD has given you the Sabbath; therefore on the sixth day he gives you bread for two days. Remain each of you in his place; let no one go out of his place on the seventh day."

Exo_31:14 You shall keep the Sabbath, because it is holy for you. Everyone who profanes it shall be put to death. Whoever does any work on it, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. 15 Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day shall be put to death. 16 Therefore the people of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, observing the Sabbath throughout their generations, as a covenant forever.

Exo_35:2 Six days work shall be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it shall be put to death. 3 You shall kindle no fire in all your dwelling places on the Sabbath day."

Several others also emphasize the importance of no work on the Sabbath.

If you wish to remember the Sabbath and keep it holy, you must observe it as God gave it to Moses in the Ten Commandments. If you wish to worship our Savior, then do it daily.

Luk_9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

If you wish to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord as a congregation, the not only is it appropriate, but acceptable to do so on the day of his resurrection accepted by most Christians.

If you are worshiping our Lord in a congregation on the Sabbath, you are not observing the Sabbath, you are choosing Saturday as your day to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord. That is also acceptable to God. Just don't call it Remembering the Sabbath and keeping it holy. You're not.

Christians are dead to the law, therefore they are free to worship and rest on any day they like:

Rom 7:4 So, my brothers and sisters, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God.

Worry warting over sabbaths just proves these promoters of it are not dead to the law, in fact they bring themselves back under it.

Isaiah 58:13,14: "If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it."

So FlyingDove, give us a reference where the Apostles sanctified any of these get togethers. You first point: "1. Jesus was resurrected on Sunday:" It is not true. He was buried at sundown therefore he was resurrected at sundown: see my earlier post. The Apostles cannot appoint another day for it is God that sanctifies. Your last point on when Christians worshipped is not true also.

MARK 15:37 And at the """ninth hour""" Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

37 And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.

Jesus died a 3PM. Day two will begin after 6PM

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is "God-breathed" and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,”

(NOTE: All Scripture is "God-breathed". So, the Luke & Paul scripture I posted support 1st day worship)

Acts 20:7 Upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread (communion),

1 Corinthians 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

Jesus died on a thursday and was risen on the sabbath which was saturday. just before dawn. the beginning of a day is at the beginning of darkness which is not midnight, but at least six hours before midnight until the next darkness occur. Mary did not go to the sepulchre until the end of the sabbath. The jewish calender should be more accurate on this.

The sabbath is not a law, but a command from God. the ten commandments are not the same as the law.

Rom 7:7 What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”

Rom 7:8 But sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, produced in me every kind of coveting. For apart from the law, sin was dead.

The above covet law/command is part of the Decalogue.

So Saturday was sanctified?

Show me the word Saturday anywhere in the Bible.

I've just lowered the bar. Didn't even ask you to prove it is sanctified. LOL

Ummm, the commandments are the Law. The rest of the Law is merely doing case studies of the commandments.

Prove any of this.

(Y'all seem to fail noticing what we call the days of the week aren't used in the Bible. The calendar has been changed since then.)

I thought the sabbath was on Saturday?
The Sabbath is the one day a week you rest.

If that's a Sunday, cool. If it's a Saturday, cool. If it's Tuesday, because you're a nurse that works weekends, cool! Don't let these people guilt you into anything. The Sabbath is for Man; Man is not for the Sabbath.

Try that one on your boss. lol

"Oh, sorry. I can't come in on Monday. Monday is wrong. We must live by the Jewish calendar. It is sanctified by God himself."

There is NO natural weekly cycle in nature that man can follow, or from the stars.
It is from creation week, when God placed his presence in it making it holy and known.

How did Noah know how to record months and years when the flood happened,
if he did not know Gods calander or new moons.

Jesus Christ observed the correct Sabbath day, and we know what day of the week that was.
