Do you follow Lester Roloff, the man who allowed the rape, sodomy, sexual assault, beatings and mental abuse of runa away girls at his youth homes in the 70's?

Your hero Jason Cooley does:
Bible Repentance | Old Paths Baptist Church

Joshua, I do follow brother Lester Roloff.

By the way, brother Lester Roloff did not allow what you allege against him.

What website did you get that false and slanderous information from?

Brother Roloff would never allow such evil to happen in his group homes.

Now there was Discipline in the homes, but that was it.

Yeah I have and you would do well to understand Levitical praise and dance and the music played during the time of King David.

CBH definitely has a cult mentality. when he responds to posts it's always comments like "well you're just wrong no matter how many real facts you bring to the table" Now that I think about it, this might be the guy that would talk in Old English on here to sound more "authoritative". Watch out for his posts guys.

Which CCM? And how man Antichrist do you think there are?

Hi atwhatcost, CCM stands for Contemporary "Christian" Music.

The CCM movement is what is breaking down the Doctrinal walls of Biblical Separation from the Roman Catholic church and the Papacy.

While there are many antichrists, the Antichrist (singular) will appear and show himself to the world in the time of Jacob's trouble, where he will falsely declare himself to be God:

2 Thessalonians 2:2-8 (Authorized King James Holy Bible)

That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. {3} Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; {4} Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. {5} Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? {6} And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. {7} For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. {8} And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

He did allow the evil in his home's and broke several Texas laws, look up the case files and prove me wrong boy.
He was arrested several times for disobeying state laws, he defended his practices of beating kids by the Book of Proverbs.

Several girls from Rebekah Home have admitted to the horror show. Do you call being paddled naked in front of other girls discipline? Do you call being spread eagle and your ankles hand cuffed to water pipes Discipline? Do you call missing meals and being beat with a rod for not saying YES SIR Biblical? Do call having pants cut off you and ripped off oyu during intake is just discipline?

These and worse discipline measures were used for failure to memorize a Bible verse. GROW UP BOY!

I met Roloff in 1976. When did you meet Roloff? My Dad was involved at an IFB church that was heavily influenced by Peoples Baptist Church and Roloff.

Your avatar says you are 29, silly me, you would have no clue about roloff accept for the version his cult allows to be propagated today. YOu are sadly, under one of the greatest deceptions to come out of the Independent Baptist movement accept for Peter Ruckman.

I pray for you that your eyes will be opened and that you are given the spirit of wisdom adn revelation that you may know what the hope of his calling for you is.

I was there CBH, you have no idea how many lives were destroyed by L. Roloff and is most likely why God took him back on 11/2/1982. He was a disobedient, bigot full of half truths and ego.

Do you really want to rehash this all again or can we just get the point that what is need in all of this is DISCERNMENT? :p

We do need discernment Sarah. Especially in these end times of apostasy and utter wickedness going on in many of today's church assemblies where sin is not being judged, and false doctrine is not being rebuked.

Zoii, I sure can tell that you have a big disdain for the truth. Shame on you.
Shame on you for coming here and peddling the false doctrine of bigots and egotists, that you are too young to even know or understand.

If you still follow roloff thoguh he has been dead 33 years, then you are worshiping a man, not the Word.

Contemporary Christian Music? I got it, but forgive me. Since I constantly write and sing my own gospel songs around the house...I sing my own written lyrics more than radio. I'm sorry...oopsie on me :(
Thanks for clearing that up for me. I didn't know either. I thought it was "Christian Chat Monitor"...............Kind of had me worried, seeing as I don't know who our monitor is.

While reading this thread I was reminded of David J. Stewart of the websites www.jesusissavior.com and www.soulwinning.info.

Obviously there is some music out there that Christians should not listen to, but Stewart is one of those who considers pretty much all mainstream music, whether "Christian" or not, to be straight from the devil.

I will never say all CCM is evil..... but what I will say is that CCM is waaaay too loose with who it lets sing under its banner. To me that's how it got this reputation in the first place. There's evil in the modern church, but that doesn't mean it's all bad.

That is part of the problem. They themselves do not use discernment on the groups they sign up to their label. (When you're signing groups that NEVER claimed to Christian in the first place that is NOT GOOD.)

Hi Sarah. Can you please give some examples of artists and bands that never claimed to be Christian and are signed with CCM? Thanks. :)

Evanescence

Evanescence was originally promoted in Christian stores. Later, the band made it clear they did not want to be considered part of the Christian rock genre, like fellow Wind-up Records artists Creed.[SUP][104][/SUP] Terry Hemmings, CEO of Christian music distributor Provident, expressed puzzlement at the band's about-face, saying, "They clearly understood the album would be sold in these [Christian music] channels."[SUP][105][/SUP] After many Christian stores began to remove the band's music from their shelves, Wind-up Records chairman Alan Meltzer then issued a press release in April 2003 requesting formally that they do this.[SUP][106][/SUP] In 2006, Amy Lee told Billboard that she had opposed being identified as a "Christian band" from the beginning.[SUP][107][/SUP]

I might be mistaken but if I remember correctly Creed was also a band like that.

"With arms wide open" was a hit and one day the DJ on the radio said - "good news, they (Creed) cleared up that they are not a gospel band.

What about Mary Mary with Shackles (I am just thinking out loud here... don't know if they qualify or not)

The nature of love is to express love through all the mediums available, song, dance, words, art, buildings in fact everything people do. Now to miss the message in the form is to miss everything.

A musical riff, or an instrument, does not define the spirituality of the message or intention.
The difficulty here is simple. Words are conceptual summaries of a culture of a position, or an idea. This speaks differently to the listeners depending on their background and could be interpreted badly or well.

So there is no clear division which both sides can use to their benefit or detriment. I have heard christians using rock music as a witness for the Lord, and back slidden christians as a way of expressing how they feel.

To lump this all together in one group is to say all books except the bible are of the anti-christ, which is so extreme it itself is the work of the enemy to sow division and contention over nothing.

Reminds me of a scene in The Simpsons where Ned Flanders falls for a Christian country and western singer, she said her band left her and went on to become successful and all they did was changed "Jesus" to "baby" or something like that!

false doctrine is not being rebuked.

  • a literary technique, originally used in Greek tragedy, by which the full significance of a character's words or actions are clear to the audience or reader although unknown to the character.
noun: dramatic irony

how difficult it is for us to see our own faults!
and how easy to have respect for appearance and first impression, to immediately condemn, to constrain love conditionally, and see only evil!

praise to the God who reached out to justify the ungodly, to make them acceptable to Himself through their faith, accepting their worship by spirit and truth, not by rite or by ritual!
these ways are not men's ways, but the way of the Holy One who uses the foolishness of the world to confound those who call themselves wise.
