Thank you for showing us that there were times Jesus spoke hard words. The apostles who wrote the epistles did also.

One of the reasons, thank God, more accurate and more readable translations are offered to us for the language as it has evolved today...

1 Corinthians 11:20-32New International Version (NIV)

20 So then, when you come together, it is not the Lord’s Supper you eat, 21 for when you are eating, some of you go ahead with your own private suppers. As a result, one person remains hungry and another gets drunk. 22 Don’t you have homes to eat and drink in? Or do you despise the church of God by humiliating those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you? Certainly not in this matter!

Basically, he is saying your ignoring of the poor is making a mockery of this meal of remembrance.
Excellent post! You are right on!

Did you watch the video?

I don't care if he is catholic, he had a good post.

It doesn't say much about you for slamming him for that..... How childish.

Are you going to sit there and actually try to claim you have eaten human flesh and drunk human blood? And worse yet, are you going to claim it comes from a body 2,000 years old? The Catholics actually DO believe they do exactly that...... nothing symbolic or figurative about it for them.

Jesus said do the Lord's supper in remembrance of Him,and is not the actual body and blood of Christ, and Jesus died once for all,but they act as if it is a mini sacrifice over and over.

Could you please point out where Willie slammed Maynard?
I mean, is it really a slam to point out that someone is Catholic?
Since you slammed Willie in return, does that not also make you childish?

Just curious...

For one, I didn't look at the clip to see transubstantiation, but to see how Jesus used strong words on the hearers. He did this many times, so it's no stretch at all to see Paul state that some are sick & others dead for taking the Lord's supper unworthily.

1. Did Maynard show transubstantiation, or did he show Jesus using very strong language? The first one is what Willie accuses him of doing.

2. I'm slamming because I called Willie childish for doing such a thing?

3. Are you actually getting on my case for what I said to you earlier in this thread?

I don't recall you getting on my case in that thread and there is no link to remind me.

I have often wondered where you get your rather odd brand of Theology. I thought it was just from strange teachers, but I see I may have been mistaken. You seem to actually believe someone really filmed Jesus as He spoke.

Those are hyped theatrics and scenes of hyperbolic interpretation designed to inordinately highlight and narrowly focus upon what the director wants to impress upon your mind. Be more careful not to let yourself be so easily led by hollywood.

Oh, it is all coming back to me now, how you repeatedly falsely accused me of implying things I was not. Hmmm, no, you are just terribly mistaken and refuse correction even when you ask to be corrected if you are wrong, which you were... repeatedly.

I read that long before the movie came out.

Would it be helpful if I quoted some of Jesus' strong words?

I was wrong once & I apologized for it.

Did you forgive me?

Once? No, you asked for correction if you were wrong, and then I pointed out your error, but you refused the correction and came back with the same or similar false accusation again, so that makes at least twice, and I have not really returned to that thread since then, though I doubt it was just minutes ago, so I just went and looked now, it was three to four hours ago and you apologized hours after the fact and I did not see it until now. It is hard to take you seriously when you distort the facts so much.

Thank you for showing us that there were times Jesus spoke hard words. The apostles who wrote the epistles did also.

As a Catholic child I was taught that the wafer and wine truly turned into the body and blood of Christ. A bell was rung during the preparation of the host and you were to close your eyes and bow your head so as not to see it happen. So what Willie is saying isn't for argument sake but the truth of what the church teaches

Now for something totally different... Does anyone else adore the fact that we are participating in something that Christ Himself did? We repeat or hear His words every time no matter what church we are in. The whole "family" acting as one. Now that doesn't happen much.

Then I apologize again, for I'm multitasking & time gets away from me. I assure you I didn't mean to distort the timeline.

Please forgive me.
