The sons of God in the book of Job are parts of Job, the upright things that God had begotten within Job.
Satan is the part of Job that by not being able to concede uprightness, actually keeps him from being upright in his own eyes.
God allowed Job to test himself more than most, by giving him the power to let go of the things that were dear to him.
This division of Job into his parts by way of multiple personification, is a more detailed way of describing what happens when upright servants in the bible fall at God's feet, and He corrects them by saying "stand up!" or the spirit lifts them upon their feet.
It's a conversation strictly between Job and God, no imaginary external boogie men or aliens involved. And Job brought something to the table that was holding him back, just like all of us.
It's not a bad experience, and hardly anyone hears God say "stand", because He either doesn't say it to them, or they think they have no business considering it. They receive no grace, because they beat themselves up in the name of God.
The story is to illustrate what happens when we present our self to God in a certain way, and help us understand and deal with our tribulation.
Yet, they are appropriately considered "angels", because angels are messengers, and they are not as externally sentient as we are taught.
Not what most people want to hear. Many would rather call ghost busters.
But that's the ghost buster that works.
